Description: Pre-gig arrangements

Apologies if it's already been mentioned but I've received an e-mail from Seetickets stating that the Liverpool gig has been moved from The Masque to the 02 Academy...think it's behind Lime St station so handy if you're getting the train in

Thanks for the tip-off.
Who's going from here?

Me for a start, there's a pub pretty much spitting distance from the venue but can't remember what it's called. I'll find out and post it on here

It's called Ma Egertons, on the corner of Pudsey St (one street down from the venue).
Only been there once, after an Echo & The Bunnymen gig at the academy but seemed a decent enough place...old fashioned boozer

There's also the Lord Warden nearby... I'll probly go :D  :D

Ma Egs is a fairly small pub but well worth popping into - does a decent pint of Guinness. Not sure if the Lord Warden is still open

:o :cry2:

Isn't the Gladstone Hotel nearby too? How's that for a pint?
I will most likely be in the Head Of Steam. Not the greatest pub in history but I always end up back there.

I wish they would change the date as well, it been a Sunday the last train back to Manc is 11.01 pm.
I remember the last time the played the Liverpool Academy on a Saturday if memory serves. Only just caught the last train which that night was at midnight by rushing out of the venue as soon as the last strains of 'Blindness' faded away and running around the corner to the Station just as the train was about to pull off.
So I'll think I'll be giving this one a miss,as it looks like a choice between leaving very early and missing most of the set. or getting stranded in Liverpool all night.

There is nothing listed at the venue for Sat, however it does double up as a nighclub and I seem to remember The Fall falling foul of a curfew when they played there on a Sat night in 2005...I think they wanted to come back on for an encore but the owner of the venue wouldn't let them as it had gone 11 and the club was opening it's doors.
Maybe why this time they're booked for a Sunday!

Anyone going to this one??
TheBigBopper - November 18, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
I'll be there. Hopefully with a couple of others.
Aiming for Dr Duncans, St John's Lane. Real ale and short (albeit uphill) walk to venue.
Going to Aintree for the races in the afternoon so conversation may not be up to much

Nice one...prob see you there. I'll be in a IWS t shirt with skinhead and specs! (don't be scared)
TheBigBopper - November 20, 2009 05:40 PM (GMT)
Splendid. Funnily enough I'm balding and big with specs and maybe a reformation t-shirt, we'll see!

This will be our 2nd Fall gig, can anyone advise typical time when the band will be on stage, my gut feeling is between 10 and 10.30, any veterans out there who can help.
Thanks
Sven Hassel Schmuck - November 21, 2009 11:07 PM (GMT)
It's hard to say, really, but at most of the recent ones, they have been on stage somewhere between those 2 times.
They seem to be playing somewhere upwards of an hour, nowadays, so expect similar tomorrow.
Should be a goodie:-) I'm the blonde haired bloke with the Dragnet T-Shirt. I'll probably be stage left and dancing manically... Come over and say hi :)

Apparently the venue has only sold 120 tickets for tonight's show and the promoter is getting a bit panicky. So chances are it'll just be people from this forum attending!
