Went to see his Cologne show a week ago.

Excellent throughout, three encores (my favourite: 'In the pines').

He managed to be preoccupied with his haircut AND play a fantastic show. Had seen (Smog) some years before, but this was even better. String section too much in the foreground at times, though.

About a year ago, as you recall, the incorrigible "Mark E Smith", at (I think the Brighton) reading, pretended he'd heard Brian when someone referred to Brighton.

"What? Brian?"
