Description: Best version?

I've probably missed dozens of others... children's hospital radio freebie Xmas dance mix, blah, blah... oh well, add at great length below, the usual...

"27 Points" version, if only for the thumpy drum noise and MES screeching "Get up!" in the middle section.

I didn't realise there was a difference between the single and LP version. What is it?
Is the single versions on any comps?

"speed up a frac, put amusing micro-tapes on" if I remember rightly B) .
I must admit, if I never actually noticed that 2 tracks are slightly different edits, I don't worry myself with comparing them...

Possibly on the 50,000 Fall Fans Are Very Often Wrong compilation.

LP version

single version has the little drony intro with the voiceover "all the different flags" etc - (that's the 12" anyway, I think the 7" is the same...), also it ends rather than fades.
the lp version comes in with the kbd riff & fades... my personal fave

As you can see, Der Bruno spielt es am links!
(sorry about the dog-German if you're reading this, Michael)

Precisely what I think.
One of my very favourite Fall singles.
imaglasgowmanmyself - February 9, 2008 12:56 AM (GMT)
it sounds great on the album

There is no good version of this.
Faust Banana - March 6, 2008 03:26 PM (GMT)
I heard the Peel version first, leaving the C:S one to sound utterly lame in comparison.

The 50.000 Fall fans version isn't the LP version, where is it from? It's far better on the chorus IMO.

I believe that's the single version (which is also included on last year's C:S reissue)
Which is the best by the way.
I like the intro, the extended use of the electronic 'digi-digi-digi-digi' sounds (hard to describe in words :ohdear: - it's over the "pressure guild/Grudge match" line...), and the way they take it down a bit on the "Insect posse will be crushed" verse.
The chorus on the album version seem to shift to a more muffled sound, while the single version stay razor sharp throughout.
A true classic :applaud:
