Title: Deerhoof
Description: Dublin, Whelan's, July 10th

The place was packed for this - I hardly glimpsed the band.

The set mainly consisted of material from the last two albums and there was a fair bit of new material thrown in. The new stuff is tight and pretty funky as opposed to freeform. I hadn't seen them before and was very very impressed - they're a nuch "beefier" proposition live than their records can sound at times.

One of the best gigs i've been to for ages.

:( Groan. I found out they were in Manchester at the last minute a week or so ago and couldn't make it. A band I'd really like to see.

I saw them a couple of New Years Eves ago and they were indeed fantastic live - I'd never heard their records but I'd recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic gig. I went to see them again on the Sunday in Cork and they were just as good again!
