Title: New polls for you

Conway - May 25, 2009 09:14 AM (GMT)
Things have been pretty quiet on the Fall front this year, and it may be a while until we get the next studio album or another tour. So, purely for bragging rights, let's see who can pin down just what we're going to get on the next studio album... by answering this series of polls:

I hear JonN cracking his knuckles already.

Bollocks to polls, where's the fucking Hammersmith DVD.

Is that going to be released on tortoise records?

And a decent live album from a Fall period just a bit later than 1836, and not recorded from the bog in the venue next door?

Do you want more foul language Conway?

Hen, rooster, poullet. Go ahead, doesn't bother me.

As you know Mark, they're working on the Hammersmith DVD and your name will appear in the credits. It will be worth the wait my friend, believe me!

Getting back to these polls, about the next album - looking forward - Fall 2009 - etc. - if you want bragging rights, you have to get in and name your picks in each poll. Let's see a few more people other than the handful of regulars, eh?!

Yeah well, you'll have to excuse my absence from those polls, since I dont take any notice of who produced what, who played on what, or whoever the fuck released what. I guess I'm just not anal 'nuff for all that stuff. Its really a poll for officianadoes.

You can skip over some if they're too hard. Or take a punt. Go on. You can pick things like will it be released on vinyl and how many tracks it'll have.

Okay, I will take a stab at some of the less demanding poll questions - but only because I wouldnt want u to feel like all ur hard work was unappreciated.

I predict there will be 15 tracks and the cover art will be excellent (because it always has been). :rollover:

Has anybody made a start on the lyrics to the new songs?

I don't think there's been a specific lyrics thread, but there is a thread about "Bury" with a couple of lines:

Nothing on "Cowboy George" or "Hot Cake", as far as I'm aware.

Been a while since we had a Fall Cup - but how about a "Best Fall Live Album Cup" or a "Best Fall Compilation Album" cup?

Let's face it there have been plenty of each and it might help direct the casual Fall fan in the direction of the best ones

Best Fall live recording not yet on CD might be an idea.

With regards to compilations, I have a feeling The Peel Sessions would run away with it :)

There was talk of a B-sides cup about 18 months ago, following the Peel Cup.

With Conway AWOL though, this might be some time in coming. :(
