Domino, with cringing innocence, will recommend bringing a solid oldster back into the fold for a track or two. The thrown bottles and lost day will assure the request is not repeated.

nicky the roadie
& some person from a largely ignored support act from the last two years

It would be great to hear Gavin Friday, who sang so well with Mark and Brix on some tunes during the '83-'85 era.
Conway - June 2, 2009 10:30 AM (GMT)
Hey Dr John, Brix herself is one of the poll options. And you didn't choose her?!

That's because in my post in No 20., I said she should be back in the group, not a mere guest. -_- None of the other choices really has a connection to the All Important Brix Era of '83-'85, which is why I brought up Mr. Friday. I'm just being an '83-'85 Brix obsessive like MES said. And if MES said it, it must be true. He would neve make a false statement, or greatly exaggerate. -_- -_-
;)

Could be 2 or 3 guests, brought in by the producer. Brass section possibly for 1 or 2 tracks.

Right, of course. She would be in the group, not just a mere guest. Should've known that.

:applaud:
Nothing like Solicitor, we all hope, because that would sound old.
Neal Cassady - June 6, 2009 11:42 AM (GMT)
None of those mentioned - nothing against them, but would not make it any more interesting.
Can we have:
Captain Beefheart
Arvo Part
Roky Erickson
Tracey Tracey (from The Primitives)
All on the same track, please. Other than that just the new band.

Couldn't Brix (who many will remember from the 83-85 period, and indeed 86-89 and 94-96) leave the band for one song and guest on that track, then return? This would also bring a flood of advance publicity for the release, as Fall lineup changes are such an unusual event.

I think you're really on to something, otherdave. Maybe MES should hire you as head of PR for the Fall?
Yes, I do remember the Brix years you mentioned. Those were high points for not only the gruppe but in the lives many of the members on this board. Do you know if The Fall did anything from 1990 through 1993, or from 1997 onward? Or perhaps prior to 1983? If so, please let us know.
ryaneno - June 7, 2009 08:54 PM (GMT)
Bez. He'd make a good puncching bag for Mark.
elvischomsky - June 13, 2009 01:22 PM (GMT)
Technically, anyone on a Fall record is a "guest", surely? Having said that - if we want some really good stuff, my money would be on Ed Blaney; co-conspirator on one of the greatest albums ever made.
morypcaina - June 14, 2009 07:34 PM (GMT)
Mike Patton will do a startlingly accurate 80s-Mark E. Smith impression on two tracks.
RepoMan - July 8, 2009 09:14 PM (GMT)
REX - July 12, 2009 03:21 PM (GMT)
Of course there won't be any guests. Why is there not a "No Guests" option?
DeusErac - July 21, 2009 02:54 PM (GMT)
Blaney. Which isn't a good thing.
The Head Grocer - November 7, 2009 02:04 PM (GMT)
799thJim - November 7, 2009 02:56 PM (GMT)
Dave Bush, but on the bass guitar
dj hollerbusch - December 20, 2010 07:11 PM (GMT)
Cleanville Tziabatz - December 23, 2010 04:30 AM (GMT)
Nobody. He will have plenty of good musicians and nobody to help him with lyrics / singing, where help is REALLY needed.
