This poll died in The Great Crash.

* a moment's silence *

Everything on this is ace!
But I'm swaying towards Jerusalem...which rocks like a muddy funster!!!

Vote now!

All of 'em apart from Jerusalem, which to be honest i thought at the time was a bit embarassing; now, more than a bit. I don't think Blake and Smith should have anything to do with each other, bluntly.

HP, WPRT, CIU and BN all indispensible.

I don't have this. I have IAKO, obviously, but do I need IAAPAO as well? Is it better? Am I missing a treat? :o

It's one of my least favourite Fall songs, to be honest...I don't listen to it much at all. But I absolutely love the version on this...esp. the second half. The music mainly.

The slower songs are great too, esp. Frenz and Bad News Girl.

Not keen on The Fall's take on Jerusalem either. But Cab It Up is a tentpole of my Fall fandom, and quite a bit of my life too.

warning dont try two megauploads at a time!
1 after another, take it easy, and 4 an hour should be no problem.

It's the perfect C90. Imagine a 2 x vinyl set :P I'm not being cheeky, I'm salivating. A DVD of the gig (don't get excited, I'm just dreaming).
The full match, unexpurgated. An essential CD f'sure.
Bremen Nacht for me, every time-uh!

I tend to listen to the c90 versh the most: I think the Cd is lightly edited eh; eg the anthems at the start.....

i'm amased (as frank black once said) at the amount of votes that br*men n*cht is getting.

its quite probably the worst moment in fall history.

general midi sax samples, 'orrible drums, C'MON people!!! its nasty!

And if it doesn't allow you (or if Rapidshare doesn't, especially) go offline and then reconnect.

HEY!!! It's not nasty!! YOU'RE nasty!! Well, I mean you're wrong....um, that is you're AHA YES outvoted.

Uh, what was your choice again? I hope it's "Guide me Soft". I have no idea what that's about!!

SonofAlways - December 9, 2008 02:29 PM (GMT)
Someone on the old Track Record was of the opinion that the version of Cab It Up on IAKO is the same recording as the one that is on "Pure As Oranj."

And you're up late/early. Yay!

Cab it up,
Remember it was on a peel show I heard this first, and yes it does sound like the same version, only, I dont remember the other being cut short to avoid the crowd noise.
Bremen's ok, the album as a whole is a nice mix.

Yes, that's the holy grail for me.
There are short clips on youtube, so some of it was filmed.
Plus, the Luciani play was definitely filmed.

Good God, really? Is it a single camera shot from the audeince or (stupid question I guess) a produced effort.

Good choice! The clip of that that EC mentioned is really funny. It's one of those songs, like CREEP, that little kids really seem to like as well.
Another gen of FOFers, just think.

I wish you could hear what I'm listening to as I read your post. It's this really smokey jazz number by Angelo Bandalamenti. So your post read as though Humphrey Bogart or someone were saying it.
Cool as ya shades then.

This poll made me dig out my copy for the first time in a long while (probably the original poll).

Has to be the rather seldom Hip Priest/Big New Prinz medley (second part not listed on the cover) for me.

killerpup - December 12, 2008 04:52 AM (GMT)
Are you kidding me?! I never knew about this thing then I listen and it's practically a f-ing top 5 Fall album. This is brilliant. I'm in the camp that there is no bad Fall and have nothing against Kurious Oranj, but this blows it out of the water. Is this shit really live? I've never heard a live Fall this clear. This albums a f-ing monster. I have to track down a real CD....

Meanwhile I voted for Dog's Life, because about 2 seconds in, I had to stop everything I was doing and listen. I knew this was going to be a great one.

The cover states it's from the Edinburgh Festival on 17th August 1988.

The reading of "BN" is particularly fierce and doesn't drag on, unlike the studio CD version. One of the necessary Fall live albums, I think.

Probably a consequence of being recorded professionally and the performance happening in a large, posh, purpose-built theatre with good gear and all that. And yet it sounds better than the live tracks on the IAKO CD which presumably come from the same period/venue/equipment...

The Encrusted Green - December 17, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
such an excellent album. i recently did a long car journey and had this on for about three hours. i roared with laughter at the 'it was the fault of the government' bit in jerusalem. i'd forgotten how brilliant that was. 'protruding brick -uh chip -uh'
