Well done to everyone who took part in the Fall Forum Fantasy Premier League last year, because it was great.
Please join this league for the new season, because it's fun and because I promise (and this time I mean it more than last time) to keep the thread bounced or bumped or whatever so that you remember to make alterations &c.
I think I have successfully managed to set up a brandy-fuelled league for the forthcoming Premiershippy season. All you need to do is go to
here and set up a team. You get money to spend, and you then spend it on players. You can keep some in reserve, if you wish, but it is only virtual, so you can't cash it in to spend on huge quantities of brandy.
I am told by the system that the code to join the league is:
567093-113395
Cheers.
Steve Hamilton has set up a mini-league for the Know the Score game, where you predict the scores of each game. The entry code for that is FAF79-WRQ. Current league members for the

I'll be entering my team (The Reformation) once I get a bloody final XI sorted.
Hipper Still - August 2, 2008 12:09 AM (GMT)
Your team is about to be added to the initial post in anticipation.
Cheers,
Sebastian.
marinade - August 2, 2008 08:33 AM (GMT)
Excellent. I'm in. Be warned, I won the Julian Cope forum league last year and was second in the British Sea Power one. So I'm bringing a wealth of top-flight managerial experience.
snoweyuk - August 2, 2008 08:53 AM (GMT)
Thx Hipper for doing the honours.
I will be joining shortly under the guise of "The Side Steppers".
IanMcC - August 2, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
Im in.
Mid Table Mediocrity.
Same team as my work XI with £20 side bet, so I should be more focused than last season.
snoweyuk - August 2, 2008 08:14 PM (GMT)
Hipper Still - August 2, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)

Neal Cassady - August 3, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
What a pleasant way to waste a Sunday afternoon... spend £100M squid.
Hipper Still - August 3, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
Good luck to everyone who has joined so far, and especially to me.
We're up to ten teams, which is the minimum needed to make a decent league, I think.

Mine are in the pub, eating kebabs and falling out of nightclubs at four in the morning with page three "stunners"

Nah, the rules are fairly straight forward and explained on the website...
Not sure if last season's result gives me the right to hand out any advice - but goals obviously mean a lot of points. Having goalscoring *midfielders* in the team as well as strikers who can put it away - and choosing defenders (not necessarily the best ones) from teams that lets in few goals. So, sometimes it can be wise to play with a very attacking formation, as attacking players often get more points than defenders.
And choose your captain wisely, as his points are always doubled.
Transfer rules are fairly easy. Befor the first week you can change as many as you like, but after that it's one per week. You can transfer more, but you'll get points deducted for it. You have one tranfer wildcard during the season though, if you're facing relegation and need a cleanup... :D
rainmaster - August 5, 2008 12:41 PM (GMT)
Just joined up as Not Galatasaray, with the expertise of rainmaster Jnr who knows a thing or two about the game (unlike me! ).
I predict a lowly league position if not first season relegation!
Keg - August 5, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
I'm back in for another season. I finished a respectable 5th last time, so I'm hoping to improve.
fallchase - August 5, 2008 03:42 PM (GMT)
i would like to mention my team name is now smiths fallchase fc now with the spaces does everyone like my team name?
New Profile Razor Unit - August 5, 2008 09:38 PM (GMT)
Novoltibirsk
Expect Reformation Post TLC like performance :D
Hipper Still - August 5, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
The list in the first post has been updated. Welcome to everyone.
There's no need for people to familiarise themselves with all of the rules, but the transfer section is worth posting here I think:
After selecting your squad you can still deal in the transfer market. Unlimited squad transfers can be made, 1 transfer can be made between each gameweek deadline without charge. Each additional transfer made in the same gameweek will deduct 4 points from your total at the next deadline. Unused free transfers are not carried over to the next Gameweek.
All transfers before the start of the season are made at no cost. For teams entering after the start of the season, no points will be deducted before their first deadline.
You can play 1 transfer wild card a season. All transfers made in the Gameweek your wild card is played will be without points deduction. You play your wild card when confirming transfers.
fallchase - August 6, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
what do you mean by transfer?
NZSquidlord - August 6, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Picking the team is not as easy as I thought it would be.
I refuse to pick any player from Spurs or Liverpool...I just could not bring myself to cheer for anyone playing for them.
Anyone else have any personal rules that effect their choices?
Hipper Still - August 11, 2008 08:42 PM (GMT)
A reminder, as there isn't long until the start of the season.
Grimo - August 11, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
I'm in. Unoriginal name - totally original kit.

Do any of you do I Know The Score aswell? I quite enjoy that.
Faust Banana - August 14, 2008 07:59 PM (GMT)
I'm in at last.
My team is fairly awful. I'm going to be tweaking it until the last minute.
If my team were to make an album it would be AYAMW.
Hipper Still - August 14, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
Everything is up to date, I think. Eighteen teams - it would be nice to reach twenty if we can.
I've never heard of I Know the Score.
NZSquidlord - August 15, 2008 04:55 AM (GMT)
I Know The Score is on the same page as the Fantasy Premier League...you just have to pick the scores of each game and you score points accordingly...
seadog black - August 15, 2008 01:58 PM (GMT)
epileptic ferret F.C have joined

I've set up a league for this on the FPL site, if anyone's interested. It's the League Of Bald-Headed Men and the code you need to enter is FAF79-WRQ.
I've set a start date of Game Week 2 rather than tomorrow, so there's not such a hurry to enter.
Good luck everybody. :)
