Description: Album reviews

I picked up a cheap copy of the Live At The Knitting Factory 9 April 2004 CD in HMV today and then discovered I already have it.
It's not particularly great but if anyone wants a copy pm me with your address and you can have it for nothing. First come first served.
I wonder if anyone else has inadvertently bought a record they already own.

Yes. Usually buying stuff second hand, but it's still so embarrassing.
Maybe not knowing you already had a record, compensates for all those records I have but have no idea where they are?

Congrats to Daren who is are missing winner.
Keep the embarrassing shopping stories coming though.

Or there's the conflation of the two, where you see a top rare record at a low low price in a charity shop, go; "Got it already", go home and realise you haven't got it, go back to the shop and find its been sold...

I once bragged to a friend about the great Bob Marley record I had just bought.
Mortified when I realised he had given me the same item as a gift 2 months previously :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

last time when ReftLC was to be out I placed two orders... at different places,
action beat the other source (of course)
so one copy is still sealed.
won't do that again. :)

Just noticed I've lost my copy of The Unutterable.
Any ideas where it could be?

See....you should always buy two.

I've got 2 copies of the SACD of Ege Bamyasi. How do you forget that you already own a copy of this cd?
Idiot!

I have four copies of the 12" of Passion by The Flirts, but I bought them all - second hand - deliberately.
I have no idea why, beyond love, obviously...
GraemeLovesPinkLady - June 15, 2008 06:31 PM (GMT)
Oh, that's perfectly understandable. I have 2 copies of PL's Best Hits Vol 1, 3 of Hikouki Gumo by Yuming (Japan's Bringing It All Back Home), 2 of the Love Peace and Poetry J-psyche comp, 2 of (the best imho J-album ever) of Gohan Ga Dekita Yo! by Yano Akiko. All deliberate multiple buys!
Gohan Ga Dekita Yo! - Best Japanese Album ever(I use this as my avatar on the other forum I post on).

I've just bought a second vinyl copy of Giant Steps by John Coltrane - 6 quid in FOPP!

Panic over!
Just found my copy of The Unutterable in a pile of CDs I'd put behind my desk and forgotten about.
I'd recommend this "halfhearted house tidying up" thing to anyone...

I wondered if anyone could help me out as to the quality of the old recordings knocking around under the Ed Blaney/hip priest handle. I have the Retford one which is spoiled by the fact that after the first couple of tracks P.D and Rowche Rumble M.E.S is just about innaudible.I realise they are old and live recordings with all that entails but just wondered about the quality/mixing levels of the other ones, Knitting factory being one of them and others which escape my aging memory
