Fall Heads Roll by the length of 3 ex-Fall members.

I need a bit longer to think about this one but I think "IWS" is going to shade it.

IWS again, but I do like FHR!

Voted for IWS just like I did in the polls concerning The Unutterable and AYAMW.
Too early for me to vote in the IWS vs TRNFLP resp. RPTLC polls.

IWS
Fresher, weirder and more lively. Not by a lot though in my book.

Yes, except by a lot.

FHR was good, but was a bit more conventional, in that the songs were much more direct and "rocky". as such, i think the songs were better live than on record.
weirdly, MES seemed more comfortable with the quieter stuff, particularly ...aspen, where he really sounded like he was starting to branch out into something altogether different.
thank christ he didn't, because it works so much better as a one-off (well, okay two-off if you count the reprise) and whatever you think about the punchier stuff they've been doing since (i.e. RPTLC and especially subsequent tours), you can't deny that he really sounds as if he enjoys being in THE FALL again.
four days in and i'm still utterly impressed with IWS. by the time the next lp comes out, i'll have found a whole heap of flaws with it, but for now its my favourite thing they've done in a good long while.

Tough call, this, but I've gone for Heads Roll. It's more the kind of Fall I like to hear in the end. Some punchy rock, some weirdness, the amazing Blindness, not too much duffness.
IWS is still quality though and I like the way it's just... odd sometimes.

I am more than fine with both but seriously walloing in IWS much more than I ever did/do with FHR.

The only bright spot on FHR was Blindness. A top Fall song in every respect.

imperial wax solvent just seems fresh and full of twists.
fall heads roll just blasts along.
two very different albums. iws in some way makes me appreciate the last few fall years a bit more.
