Absolutely--on one condition: that the absolute best in writers and editors are hired to create this script. Deep Space Nine is such an intricate series, even above the rest, and any weaknesses on the part of the writing staff (as well as other areas) will be twice as glaring in a DS9 movie than with any other series. It will also have to be marketed rather differently than some of the Star Trek movies because not only will it be action-oriented, but it will very likely require you to actually use your head as well. As long as Paramount CAN in fact rise to this challenge (which in recent, post DS9 years I sometimes have my doubts of), a DS9 movie would be a great idea. Otherwise, any such thing should be left to the people who really know what they're doing--the fans.
On that note, the post-series DS9 novels have been surprisingly good, given the quality (or lack thereof) of some of the other novels that have come out lately. Have you ever read any of these, and if so, what is your opinion?

Of course! every series should have a movie, altough I think half the movie should be based on a crashed Starship, half buried underwater. (like the game 'DS9: THE FALLEN').
Just my opinion though, but that was awsome swimming through corridors....

Yes.
I agree 100% with Natima Lang. I would like to add that the writers should ABSOLUTELY NOT pull the crew together with no warning (Like the TNG-Movie writers with Worf). Like Ira Steven Behr said in an interview on the season 7 disk. "Future DS9 writers will have to start where we left off." Pretty much If they don't carefully untie all the characters from their current assignments it will be horrible.
On that same not I am disapointed that we got no explaination on what happened to Worf's Ambasadorship (ST:NEM)

Yeah...at least the Star Trek novelists are now working on books that are trying to explain this stuff that happened between Insurrection and Nemesis. Unfortunately, that'll take almost a year for them all to come out, and it really shouldn't have been left hanging to begin with.

I definatly think that there should be a DS9 movie!! I think it could be difficult given the last episode of DS9.. but if its done right and written well then for sure!

There are so many story lines to pick-up here. The charactors are developed enough and this forum is perfect for Hollywood to showoff (and dumbdown the stories) with superfluous special effects.

It would be nice to see the station on the big screen but I don't think the original cast are willing to reunite to do a movie. However there are plenty of material available for developing Trek game ideas. :hammer: How is that for a possible hit? :D

I can't see the original cast having better assignments than doing a major motion picture. It would be a good career move.
That being said I think Paramount could put together a great movie with what they have in terms of story lines from the post DW novels. This could actually be a money maker since they don't have too pay too much too get the cast back.

Yeesh! This place is more quiet than a house on Christmas eve.
Where is everyone?
Where are all the members who had registered?
Any speculations or ideas?

I'm still here--it's just that I feel like in the original post I said exactly what I wanted to say on this.
