I had some ideas for creating a new board logo to reflect its new look and theme.

The following is my idea.



I could modify this image to include "Star Trek Chat Forum" as a subtitle.

I tried screen capturing the TOS Enterprise main view screen from my DVD but I had problems linking the image file to the web.

What do you think?

The station is a great idea! Although don't you think it needs to be bigger?

No, not really. Just a bit of a "vacation." If anyone can suggest a skin, I'd put it up ASAP. I'm terribly at color schemes... ;)

Thinking about it now.... if you made me an admin I could fix it all up for you. Longevity based on your judgement of course.

NO slight against you at all, Seth, because you might be good at the job...I guess I'm still upset and paranoid over what happened after the admins fought recently. :(

I agree with Nat, i wouldn't be adding a new admin again anytime soon after the last lot either (no offense intended Seth) not worth the risks when things are getting back on track again.

Alright, well try this. It's just temporary but it looks a little better than what we have now in my opinion.

Remember you have to copy everything for it to work, then edit as you please. Another point I'll get to work on some icons.

To be honest, I don't like it. I recommend we should stay with the UFP primary colors - blue, grey, white and black.

I should be able to download the UFP logo shortly and create a new banner using all the ships from all the series.

Yeah, the yellow-orange is a bit blinding. :blink:

UFP colors are also dull purles, golds, and blues. I wiped this one off the site, but it's alot better than th blue you guys had working here before.



Trouble is I can't contomise this with acess to admin Cp, so if you guys want to change you have to do it yourself. :P

You do have to be member to view this stuff though.

I now have my own, working design on my local server. We'll give it a whirl when I get back in a few days.

The current one is to keep people from blinding themselves. ;)

Image is created with PSP. I can easily add "Star Trek Chat Forum" and a frame to its borders.

BTW I like this choice of a skin color theme. It's much better than the orange/black scheme.

Is the final version going to be stretched that far? The image loses a lot of quality that way.

BTW, the current colors certainly are pleasant on the eyes. :)

Yep the new colours look way better then the orange it was a bit strange and hard to read in places hehe

I admit it will loose some of the picture quality once it is stretched out. We just have to wait and see if MT approves it or not. Then I can work on tinkering and refining the details.

You people need to get your eyes checked :P Besides this one is so dull and has nothing to do with the trek even by a strech

My suggestion is just to make sure you don't lose TOO much of the image quality, because when something is stretched too far, it tends to look rather unprofessional.

Even though these colors have nothing to do with Starfleet, at least they're easier to look at in the interim! ^_^

I agree. I will work on this idea for awhile and see what might come next. :)

Meantime we just have to wait for MT' s reaction to this little project we had started.

The logo looks excellent, but its loss of quality will have to be addressed. I'm glad you all like the new color scheme. This little project you all having going is going to turn out nicely, I think!

I will work on it over the next while and see if I can solve the problem. Currently I am using PSP 8 for this image project. If anyone else is interested in helping me with, or solve, this problem please drop me a PM so I can e-mail the image file name to you.

I had been tinkering with the idea of enhancing the image but I hadn't figure out how to keep the picture intack without loosing quality. Do you have any suggestions or ideas how we proceed with this project?
