In the Star Trek universe, usually the only entities I've seen are either aliens or androids. So if the Star Trek universe takes place in the future, how come there are no robots (androids and the Borg don't count) especially aboard Capt. Archer's Starship Enterprise? How come there are no alien species that clone themselves? And how come there are no mutants, alien or otherwise?  Especially, robots. We're talking 22nd, 23rd, and 24th centuries. Why can't there be robots in the Star Trek universe?
Thank you! :)

Sorry, Natima Lang, Nanites don't count either. We're talkin' nuts and bolts.
Thank you!
Well.. the EXOCOMPS do count... also what about those really tin looking robots in voyager?? They were android like as well only very android looking they werent made to look human.. cant for the life of me remember what they were called now would have to look it up..
Though as I understand it the star trek world isnt very far as much as actual AI goes.. which I have to admit is rather strange given there advancements in technology in other areas this one does appear to be very lacking!
Maybe with holograms around they dont think that robots are nessesary? Any task that they might give a robot they seem to give a hologram
