What time zone is this forum based from? On the posts and elsewere it says it is Feb. 4, but were I am, it is Feb.3 at 8:37 in the morning! I have wondered about this for a while.

This board is based on Greenwich Mean Time....
You can set up your timezone in your profile if you didn't know yet. ;)

I know there is a way to change the time zones. I've done it before on other forums. But I can not seem to figure out how.

Could someone help me?

I'll try to help you both.

1.First go to My controls on the top right of the page
2.Go to the Options section and click on Board Settings
3.Go to the place that says:
"You may adjust the base time zone
The time (including your current adjustment) is: Feb 4 2004, 10:30 PM"
4.Change it to your time zone.

Good job helping people. You know, you could just do the time zone thing yourself, by editing the profile of the user, but that way works too, and probably better.

But if he was going to change anyone's timezone , he would have to know were the person is, or it wouldn't help.

^Good point!
I also thought it would be good if you knew how to do it, there's not always an Admin arround....

Also, if anyone is new, they can just look on this thread and find out how. Have you ever thought of making a forum and naming it "Info for newcomers" or something like that? That way, anyone who is new would see it, and find any info that has been posted about using the forums. you could also transport the getting to know you stuff into it.

Hmm I don't know about that newbees can look here...

I guess. It's pretty much the same thing.

Just wanted to mention that Invision, at least the regular one, not sure about Invisionfree, offers an option in the admin CP to change the timezone to suit the admins own TZ to begin with. IE on my own forums I am -6 TZ so I changed that in Admin and it would be the default for users who don't bother to change their own TZ.
