Title: Bargain Of The Millenium!!
Description: FOW Wow...!

Nobody has an excuse not to own this all-time classic album now:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...5950013-3805269

It also looks like most of the Poptones back catalogue is only £3.33; that includes Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine by Cosmic Rough Riders amongst much other decent stuff. James' The Collection (well worth a buy) is the same price, as are some albums by Dodgy (it's even tempted me to buy one! :o), Cast, Captain Soul, The New, Neil Young, ELO...I'm even buying some stuff I've never heard of before...

Blimey! *investigates*

I used to be a massive Dodgy fan, you know. I even belonged to their fanclub. They had the worst self-image of any band I can recall. If they had taken themselves slightly more seriously they could have been massive. For those who don't remember (or are too young), they used to put out adverts that read like they were talking to five year olds. And the video to 'Staying Out For The Summer' was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. But forget all that, get 'Free Peace Sweet' and listen to 'Long Life'...

Having said that, they sold out two nights on the trot at the Brixton Academy towards the end. I went to the second night and they got Roy Wood out to sing I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. Ah, memories.

Asleep In The Back by Elbow for £3.33. Bargain-tastic.

Alex H is right by the way. No excuse not to own Utopia Parkway at that price.

I swear to God, I'm the only person on the face of the planet that really can't see what's so good about Fountains Of Wayne.

I seem to recall hearing one of their albums a while back, and not being particularly impressed. Then they released that 'Stacy's Mom', which I'm afraid I'd safely classify as one of the worst songs I've heard in years.

Feel free to enlighten me or try to change my mind.

Buy Utopia Parkway for £3.33. Listen. Listen again. Listen listen listen!

I aren't great at describing music, but for me Utopia Parkway is all those long lost summers...it's full of perfect pop songs. I don't know any band that does what FOW do better (or anywhere near as good). I was disappointed with the recent album as a whole, though I aren't one of those Stacy's Mom haters...Utopia Parkway just was, and is, as near to perfection as an album could be. The best song on it? I would say Troubled Times.

I have bought a lot of albums in this sale. Must buys include:

The Posies - Frosting On The Beater
Captain Soul - Jetstream Lovers
Outrageous Cherry - Out There In The Dark
January - I Heard Myself In You
Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine - Cosmic Rough Riders
Joey Stec - Joey Stec
Oranger - The Quiet Vibration Land
The Jam - Beat Surrender

...and a few others too! I can't recommend The Posies' album enough...it is bloody brilliant! It is right up there in my top 10 albums of all time. Get it!

Um... best explain myself.

I was responding to a post from a friend of yours who liked them, by talking about my housemate. Said housemate is borderline obsessed by them, having seen them on about 90 occasions in several countries. So I'm exposed to it a lot, but I'm afraid I'm not exactly a fan. Sorry!

i had a feeling it was a very vague interest. I agree, they're not amazing, but if you only get one NMA album get this. It is possible to only own one NMA album, by the way :P

That's one of my "Missing Albums" It's in one of the Progeny's bedrooms, along with all of my Weezer albums, Mansun, Bluetones, etc.

It IS very good indeed!

I missed The Posies album, I have one by them I think is okay but nothing to convince me to buy another album. Maybe I'll go back and buy the one you mention now...

You must get Frosting On The Beater! Yeah some of their other albums are a little dull if I'm honest, but Frosting...is amazing. And for £3.33 it's not worth debating! :D
