Title: Jason Pegg Solo Album Out 20 November
Description: (Clearlake-related news)

For any fans of Clearlake out there (I know there are at least two of us), this may be of some interest. It's going to be download-only for now. I've heard about half of it and it's going to be fantastic...

The new Clearlake album should also be out early next year.

Cool! Will you be able to get it from emusic?

I'm not sure how it's being distributed yet, but will let you know as soon as I know!

When I read the subject line I thought "the guy from Spaced has a solo album out?" but that's Simon, of course. :P
I quite like Clearlake, which might make that at least two and a half fans on here. Two and a half is half of the regular population here, so a 50% fan-rate isn't bad at all.

The tracks on MySpace sound pretty good.
It's a shame I'm not buying CDs any more (I'm leaving the UK within a couple of years).

Really - where are you off to?
(Incidentally, it's download only, albeit with printable artwork)

I see, perhaps I should amend that to "It's a shame I'm not buying music (or DVDs, or gig tickets, or virtually anything) any more." I'm off to South America via Asia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Western USA. I hope to get a job teaching English in South America. My place of work doesn't know yet, so I'm having to keep it between a few close friends and family, and now the Silver Sun forum it seems! I actually decided a year ago and back then thought I might even be gone by now, but I want to make sure I save up more than enough money in case I don't get a job.
Do you know if Mr. Pegg plans to release his album on Spotify? It's been my saviour of non-music-buying.

Wow! A grand adventure. I hope that all comes off for you.
Spotify... I'm guessing not, because this is Jason's own label and the first release on it, so unless he's gone to them directly then I suspect that won't be happening. Could be wrong though.

Oh wow, that's really exciting news, Alex! Whereabouts in South America are you hoping to work? Let me know if it's Chile because if so you ought to talk to one of my friends...
Alex H - November 26, 2009 08:44 PM (GMT)
Chile is a possibility (I'll definitely be going there anyway). I've been told paid English teaching jobs are sparse in South America but I think Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Chile were mentioned to me as most likely. I'm intrigued as to why I should talk to one of your friends. I only have friends in the worldwide places I'm not planning on visiting! :D
Mr. Pegg would have to go to them directly then if he's only selling it through his website. I signed The Cakes up to Record Union which got us on to Spotify for £6. This also meant we're on iTunes, emusic etc...and even though our music is free someone went and bought the EP from iTunes*...
*I think it was a parent of another band member

Oh, nothing weird, only because he used to live in Chile and was an English teacher there. He might be able to give you some advice for finding work, or, if you like meeting up with random friends of friends when you're travelling, then he's the sort of person who can provide lots of those.
Alex H - November 29, 2009 08:40 PM (GMT)
Hehe, I wouldn't expect it to be anything weird, I thought they might have been a teacher. I do like to meet up with random locals/travellers and always appreciate any advice. I'll send you a PM. :)
