My friend Frank's son Matt is in a band called Brontosaurus Chorus, & have just released their debut mini-album, You've Created a Monster.
They're an eight piece (four lads, four lasses) with a trumpet and a cello and the usual rock acoutrements! They make a very agreeable sound, which is growing rapidly on me.
If anyone has chance to cop an earful, I'd be grateful of any feedback I can give the band.

The vocals sound a bit distant on a couple of songs. I generally like what I hear.

I like Cat Song, the layers of instruments work really well on that one. On another song the vocals reminded me of Andrea from Melys.
Are the last.fm songs old recordings? I don't know if it's just me but some of them sound better on Amazon.

The cd was self produced and self financed (I think my friend Frank coughed up a fair amount!)
Problem with not hiring your own producer is that you don't have an independent pair of ears to give unbiased opinion. The production is a bit raw, the mix may be a bit amateurish, but hell, they got their album out!
For that they have my admiration, and I guess you'd know all about that struggle with The Cakes, Alex?

These folks are playing at this year's Offset Festival. Which I just happen to be going to. Nice.
