What do they do with an arena? I haven't seen them since the small venue days. The first time I saw them was at the Louisiana... and you know how big that is!

Errrm, filled it.

They actually filled it with sound. The music transposes itself well to the Big Stage, they added a bassist to beef up the sound, the redoubtable Tom brandished several Telecasters, all expensive, and all used for oooooh, at least three chords.

They had a little stage at the end of a catwalk, finishing in the middle of the arena, and did a few intimate songs there. Sounds cheesy, but it worked.

As did they.

To be fair they worked their backsides off and gave a great show. Plenty from the new album, and plenty from 'Hopes..", but not a lot of "Iron", so to speak.

Would I do it again? Yes.

Length? About 95 minutes! :D

Unsurprisingly really, as that was their "we hate each other" album. Singing that every night probably wouldn't have been good for harmonious touring...

Not to mention the fact that it was entirely cack, of course. ;)

I haven't heard anything from the new album... is it worth it for someone who loved 'em before they got famous and became quickly bored when everyone started bumming them to death?

EDIT: Yes, I realise how horribly elitist that sounds. It's not. It's just the unfortunate timeline of how my relationship with them panned out.

Perfect Symmetry has a shedload of good, Keane-esque tunes on it. Very "Hopes", very good in my humble opinion. I'd give it four stars, which is four more than I'd give The Script or Glasvegas!

I've so far managed to avoid hearing The Script. Haven't been so lucky in avoiding Glasvegas, one of their songs was on in HMV the other day...

I didn't like the production (or something) when Hopes & Fears was released on the new versions of the old songs. I haven't listened to them for ages so I can't remember exactly why, but they just didn't sound as good. I do like one of the songs I've heard from their new one.

I might have already mentioned it but I'm thinking of selling my signed Fierce Panda Everybody's Changing. I've offered it to Eil.com for £200, I know they won't pay that much but I'll see what they offer back...

Hmm, there's a thought. I've got the Fierce Panda release of 'This Is The Last Time', there's two copies on eBay right now, one is £9.99 and the other £19.99.

I've got a bunch of other stuff I'm holding onto for mainly sentimental reasons, eil.com is selling The Fratellis' debut EP for £50 right now. Dunno if I really want to get rid of it though. Might have to wait until I'm genuinely starving.

There were around 5000 This is the Last Time CDs produced and only 1500 Everybody's Changing. There was a home-made Keane CD before that which sells for £800+ on ebay!

I'm wondering if there's any point holding onto so much stuff for sentimental reasons. I have a big pile of magazines featuring a certain band and while it's interesting to look back sometimes I don't think I've looked at any of them for years now...

They offered me £75, when they sell an unsigned version for £120.

Keane, I always get them confused with Travis, probably cause I hate both of them :D :D :D
