Is this from Mr. Paul Steel.

Even if you're a fan of Silver Sun who hasn't liked his previous efforts, I think you'll like it.

This is a very silly song and I loved it when I saw him live. Especially the mad wigout at the end, sadly missing from this version!

Thanks for this. I love love love Paul Steel. The more I listen to his albums, the better they get.

Apparently Mr. Steel thought of me when he uploaded this. I hope I wasn't bugging him that much about recording it and releasing it! I asked about the end bit last night and they were recording the 'mega rave' but ran out of studio time, and now what they did record of it has disappeared.

The April & I film is looking pretty good (see his Myspace). I can't believe how he seems to have got so many unique and talented animators together and the new material is sounding promising too.

Good of him to help you out there!

Does "new material" mean that he can't ever release Moon Rock? I'm increasingly glad I bought a promo - only £5.99 but nonetheless still probably a bit cheeky on the part of the seller. I love that record now, having actually been slightly disappointed on first listen. The gig when I saw him after only being asked to street team at the last minute... it was a classic example of a really bad day becoming a revelatory one, so anything short of feeling that again when I heard the album was bound to be a disappointment. But I was wrong, it's great.

It got a Japanese release recently with Ray Gun tagged on at the end, and he still hopes to release it over here. He said on BBC Radio 6 a few months ago that he just needs a deal and he'll be able to release it staight away.

I had a similar feeling to you when I heard this Ray Gun recording. It was one of the best live performances I've ever seen and heard, and I've loved the live version I have of it. Having listened to the studio version a fair few times already I am no longer disappointed (though being picky, there are a couple of things I would have kept from the live version, excluding the ending). I noticed that he used to shoot himself a pigeon with the ray gun, but he doesn't in the studio version...could that be Polydor censorship?
