Title: Best/least Favorite Silver Sun Gig Ever
Description: Or Is It Yet To Come?

We've all been to them, travelled far, had a blitz but which one sticks out the most/least.

London Astoria 5/11/98 & the support by The Young Offenders was bloody good as well.

Not far behind was the one in the Carling Academy 2 yrs ago this month! Was overwhelmed by 23 song set list, magic!!!

I'd say the comeback one in October 2003 was my least probably cause after 5 yrs had no idea how it/crowd would fare.

You lot?

Cardiff Barfly in (I think) 2004. Gig went so well that they came out for a second encore with nothing else rehearsed, and worked out Last Day and There Will Be Another Me again on the spot.

Bristol Louisianna last year. It was great to meet up with so many people from here, to travel 260 miles for a gig, to stand right in front of James and Richard and to sing my head off without feeling in the least embarrassed! We both loved it ! :D

Same here for me.

I've only been to 3 Silver Sun gigs and none were bad but my least favourite would probably be the one at The Luminaire (although I liked the venue), 2 years ago I think it was. That was mainly due to having a cracking headache, and not due to meeting random people off the forum. ;)

It would be hard to state a "least favourite" for me but if I was pushed I'd say V97 because 1) they were bumped down a slot (and given a shorter time) due to the sudden increase in popularity of Embrace and 2) the sound wasn't that good (as is often the case at festivals). I did enjoy James's final outburst though, which I recall to this day: "you've seen the best, now enjoy the rest!"

Well Alex that must have been some headache as I did like the Luminaire gig but it was only last year in March, great venue & sound system. ;)

It just seemed a bit lacking in terms of the fans compared to all the other gigs but I did enjoy it

Embrace at V97, I swear they made it pretty big after V98 as The Good Will Out was released in June & the tour in support of that was all sold out come September.

Anyway SS over Embrace anyday & twice on Sunday :P

Luminaire gig was good (good photography ;) ).

i traveled a long way to cardiff barfly and it was pretty good as well. i seem to remember being so pleased at one of the last two songs, a b-side maybe? i completely forget what it was though?

any clues?!

"Last Day" and "There Will Never Be Another Me", unrehearsed and worked out on the spot.

there will never be another me! that was it! i was thinking along the lines of "streets are paved..." but i am now clear in my mind!

My favourite... I'd probably have to go for that last Louisiana thing, that was awesome.

Least favourite, that'd be a month previous to the one above, at Bath Moles. Nowt wrong with the gig as such, just I was in an awful state of health and really shouldn't have gone - travelling so far and crashing on my mate's uni room floor wasn't a good idea.

Im gonna have to say Luminaire, reason being, sadly its the only gig ive seen. Im a relatively late arrival on the Silver Sun scene,

basically the album Disappear Here got me into them properly, thanks to Philonski :P

But i already had the debut album when it was released but never really followed up on it. Now they are without doubt my favourite band ever, and i certainly hope there is a new gig forth coming because no matter where it is....im there!! (well...within the Uk at least!)

Yeah, ditto, defo my fave SS gig ever! Honestly can't think of a worst one...

Thanks Damian for reminding me of that awesom night in Cardiff in 2004. Spot on!

Edinburgh Venue circa 1998.

It kinda wins best and worst by default as it is the only Silver Sun gig i ever made it to.

It was a mighty behemoth of a rocktacular though!

I caught a pick that night that still lives in my Neo Wave booklet and bought quite an ugly 'Fu*k Silver Sun' tee.

Ace!
