Quick update. Alex arrived safely last week, & ate his sandwiches in the deserted Boca juniors stadium. He's been trekking in the centre of the country in Mendoza, near the Andes. Pony riding, white water rafting and taking potholed hairpin bends at 30 km/p/h climbing 3000m in 100 bends. He's currently (as I type) watching Boca v Racing away from home (that's a laugh!). Says that his photos are awesome, lots of fading, decaying elegance. He's heading south, where the temperature is 5C. Next update when I receive it. :huh:

Lucky man. If he can get some photos up, I'd like to see them.

Well, all right, I give up. Go on - what sport are you talking about? I did try looking on the internet for clues, but I just found a betting site where one user had the best screen name I've ever seen (Thatsa Donkey).

Alex has followed Boca Juniors since he was young, when they signed an English schoolboy from the Falkland Isles. Pretty groundbreaking stuff at the time, given the political implications.

When we went to Hong Kong we had to scour the shops for the Boca Juniors away strip (de rigeur for every football fan - wearing the home strip is so passe). If you Google Earth the stadium you can get a reasonable perspective.....but I guess that's a boy thing too?
