A few months ago, I sent 100 blank postcards out in the post - some to friends (including several members of this board), some to random strangers - and asked people to "do something creative" on them and send them back.

The cards that came back were wicked! Some people drew or painted pictures, some stuck on photos or collages, some wrote poems, some drew cartoons.

Now we've uploaded the whole lot to the Flat four website - it looks so cool, I'm really proud of it! Come and have a look!

What inspired you to send out a bunch of postcards? Seems brilliantly random (and, indeed, randomly brilliant).

I like getting post, and I like the idea of getting lots of similar things together and I like making zines. It's something I've sort of vaguely had in mind since I was a kid - when I was about 11 I always hankered after a PO Box so I could try out things like this without telling bad people where I lived (or my parents finding out and saying it was silly). I never did it though. So I decided I would, now.

Speaking as one who took part, I think it was a great idea, even if I felt my contribution lacked imagination, and I was very flattered to be asked.

The "Postcards" booklet drew varied and "interesting" comments from those who have seen it.

Can't wait for the sequel..........

Is that a bit like the thing that made a blog famous and was used on that All American Rejects video, where people held up cards saying things like "I have an unhealthy obsession with my sister's toenails"?

I heard about someone who brought a little postbox to a zine fair and got people to write anonymous secrets on bits of paper and post them secretly - then they made a zine out of it. Sounded good, but I haven't seen it.

have you read the postsecrets book? its fantastic. so emotional. i erally hope they're all true, because it must be so difficult to do that. then maybe its easy as its a complete secret. i highly recommend it.
