Title: Role Play dotNet F.A.Q.

KatanokiChaos - January 20, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
What is Role Play HQ?

The answer to that is simple: Role Play HQ is a massive Online Text-Based Role Playing Game (OTBRPG). Actually, more than one. Each thread is a separate RPG, just waiting for new RPers to jump in.

Sounds cool... How do I start?
  • Register on the board.
  • Post a character sheet.
  • Pick a category.
    - OR -
Go directly to the Brand Spankin' New forum to see the new RPGs.
  • Pick a thread, any thread. Each one is a separate RPG.
  • At the top of the thread, it will say one of three things:

"Invite: Open" - Go ahead and post.
"Invite: Invite-only" - Message the Original Poster and ask if you can join.
"Invite: Closed" - I'm sorry, but the RPG is closed to further entrants.

When you post, make sure to link your character sheet, and check for other requirements.
Oh, come off it, I don't want to do all that.

Then go into the Open Role Play Area and pick one. Make sure you put your character's name and description in the first post, but other than that, jump right in.

I want to join an RPG from the beginning! I hate how RPG forums have me playing catch-up.

No problem! For this, we have the "Brand Spankin' New" forum. This is where users create their own RPGs. Once these RPs have 100 posts, they are moved to a different forum depending on the RPG's setting, but a link is left in this topic. Please remember that these RPGs usually require a character sheet.

Do you have an official RPG for the site?

There is an official RPG, called "Chaotic Guilds."

Click here to go to the forum "Chaotic Guilds."

I was in an RPG in the "Brand Spankin' New" forum, and it's not there anymore!

The RPG you were in was most likely moved, since it had 100 or more posts. There is a list of these RPGs in there, with links to the topic.

Click here to see the list.

I hate having to post my character sheet every time I join an RPG.

No problem, you can post your character sheet for permanent view by everyone in the sign-up topic. After the sheet is approved, a link to the sheet will be added to that topic, and that link will be all you'll need to post.

Click here to go to the Character Sign-up topic.

I messed up my character sheet, and now it's been posted and locked! Can you change it, pleeeeease?

No problem, go to the modification request topic and read the information there.

Click here to go to the Character Modification topic.

I don't like any of the RPGs open, or I've got a great idea for an RPG. How do I create an RPG of my own?

Follow the instructions in this topic.

I have another question!

Reply in this topic, and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Alright... This completely shattered my role play guide... But either way, I think this F.A.Q. is really useful to people who are starting anew in the forums. I recommend this thread, and in fact, if it's okay with you, Lainey, I'm going to add some of these questions to my F.A.Q. section... Oh, and also, *Bump*.

Alright. ^^

The two links to the Character Sign-Up (non-functioning link) are broken, FYI.

Also, Katanoki/Lainey, I request this of you: please actually talk to me instead of doing random stuff on the web. It's hard to ask you a question when you don't say anything half the time :P

I was kinda really busy yesterday.

And I fixed the links.
