Title: I'll make them pay...

Drathor - January 28, 2004 03:02 AM (GMT)
Drathor looked around the forest, angrily. He hated it here. What he wouldn't do to be roaming freely in the outside world, but those damn humans... Humans who believe they are the superior race, humans who refuse to look at the similarities instead of the differences... humans who have threatened his very existence... Drathor's opinion of humans was quite low indeed. They have forced him into seclusion. What he wouldn't do to be able to wander freely, but no, to enter the city he had to wear clothing so uncomfortable, he wanted to kill a human each time he visited the city to relieve the stress.

Ahh, human blood...

In Drathor's opinion, there was no better sight. Though he couldn't let humans see HIM and live, he could let them see his power, and make them live in fear. It was only fair, wasn't it? If the humans wouldn't let him live in peace, why should he let them live in peace.

Drathor's anger slowly turned into a slight happiness, that could only be seen his eyes, considering he had a beak.

"One day, those pathetic humans will learn that they aren't the sumpreme beings of this world... one day they'll learn... and when they do... it will be too late for them to fix their mistakes...," Drathor said to himself, then jumped up onto a thick tree branch and relaxed, "Yes indeed... if no one else will teach them, I will... one day..."

She had already been strolling the deep woods, and luckily she was still alive. After encountering a vampire, Abigail would never again walk up to strangers. Never.

Her ears twitched on top her feathered skull as her pale blue eyes lifted up into the trees. She thought she had heard something, maybe someone, but she couldn't be sure. She stopped her strolling, her eyes still gazing up at the tree curiously. Her wings fluttered once on her back, then returned to their folded position. The griffin could sense a similarity to herself in the figure in the tree, and this is what caused her to stay, though from personal experience, she knew she should leave...but she couldn't pull herself away.

'Teach who what?' Abigail thought to herself, though she wasn't able to say it outloud. Abigail didn't speak outloud, yet the message was sent to Drathor in his mind; and yet she didn't know this either. Abigail had the gift of telepathy, with everyone, not just other griffins. Retreating to her haunches, she tilted her head to the side; her dark colored talons flexing slightly.

((Oh yes, and I hope you don't mind the whole telepathy thing. If you think it's god-moding or something, or don't like it, or whatever, just let me know...^^))

A small twitter of wings, and a bird further along the branch woke. It had been sleeping. Now it was looking. Something big had hit that branch and woken it, speaking in human tones. The golden eyes on the small raptor bird scanned the thing with great intrest. Bird of some sort. Bit human too. Creepy words. Talking about death and killing in sublimial messages of fixing them. The raptor twitched, and let out a small coo. Anouncing it's presance on the branch.

Pretty little bird. Little, coloured differently from what you would normally see. An American kestrel, male by markings and bright and exuberant colours. Rusty reds and slate grays covered it, black detailing and a creme and chocolate coated breast. Golden brown eyes, dulled light brown with the lack of direct sunlight. Yellow feet, gray/yellow beak. A beak that opens in another coo, this time pouring out words.

"Who are YOU..."

Now eyes gazed down to a girl. Walking alone in the woods. Uh oh... He wanted to kill girls like her. The bird ruffled itself and stood on the branch, ready to leap down. What the hell could the bird DO to help her? Nothing, likely. Maybe something, if everyone was lucky. If SHE was lucky.

((Ack! Another person... I added you in, but it is all weak like...))

Drathor - January 28, 2004 08:37 AM (GMT)
Drathor looked towards the ground then at the bird on the branch with him. 'Interesting,' Skandranon thought, 'I wasn't sure if there were many else left like me... guess I haven't paid enough attention to the forest.'

Another thing he thought interesting was that the griffon below's message wasn't heard by his ears, but by his mind instead... quite odd indeed.

"Humans.... haven't you ever grown tired of how they think they're superior, and how they never accept those different then them? I do... they will learn one day that they aren't the strongest species on this world...," Drathor said, while looking down at Abigail.

He then looked at the bird on the branch with him. Could really such a bird have talked. Drathor then laughed to himself, not too terribly surprised about it, but still found it quite interesting.

"The name's Drathor... sorry to have disturbed you..."

Drathor would have smiled if he could. This day today has been the most interesting to him in many years. He wondered why he never noticed other creatures similar to him before.

Peachie - January 29, 2004 12:18 AM (GMT)
Again someone had answered her without her speaking. How odd. The griffin shrugged its shoulders in reply to Drathor, her eyes shifting to the bird uncomfortably.

She stretched her wings briefly, then folded them upon her back once more, still watching the bird nervously. What do you want with me, bird? She thought in her mind, though once again it was sent to the other without her knowing. (By other I mean the bird.)

((Sorry if that space was taken or something..))

Skirr - January 29, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
The bird nodded. Such a human action for such a bird. Nodded, and hopped off the branch, cruising to the ground, and looking back up at Drathor. Then to the silent woman. The bird did not know mindspeak. Did not recieve it often, and usually felt uncomfortable when it did. Almost as uncomfortable as it felt to be a small bird surrounded with a Crazy and Silent griffon. Time to make oneself a bit larger.

The small bird disappeared in a hazey veil of dusty wind, still visible, though disgustingly so. The thing inside the wind was taking a new shape. Bones popping out silently, growing, realigning, and completeing the new form of a boy. A boy with the same wings the bird before had, only larger. Porportional to his size. Uncovered for the world to see, without his usual cloak. He lived in the conservation area as a bird most the time, keeping the cloak off for more freedom of wings. No one ever came deep into the woods. Well, not today, anyway.

The kid stood 4'11" tall, with golden flecked brown eyes and light brown hair. Thinner, yet solid frame, small build, and a frown. Frown because he didn't think there were this many winged things. He knew four, aside from himself, now. Drathor, the Silent One, Matthias, and Pazuzu. And there was bound to be more. Angels and such. He was original in the aspect that he was yet to see another Kestrel-boy. But this did not change the fact that he frowned.

"Hullo... 'm Shad."

Shad, sounded out like Shade. The Shadow of his fathers life.

Drathor - January 29, 2004 01:22 AM (GMT)
"Well... this is very interesting indeed... a shapeshifter of some sort... and a griffon with the gift of telepathy... very interesting indeed," Drathor said, looking between the two creatures below him.

"Very interesting that I have not seen you here before as well... what brings you two here? If I had to make a guess, I would say humans chased you here... yet the looks on your faces don't seem to be that of those attempting to escape from something...," Drathor said, sounding quite interested.

He also looked quite pleased about this encounter. He knew there were probably others who would be forsaken by humans in existence, but he had his doubts that he would ever actually see any. Maybe his fight wouldn't be as hopeless as being only a fight for the pleasure of exacting at least some revenge. If he could get the help of others, then the odds of victory would most definately be more pleasing.

"You two have no reason to fear me as long as you don't decide you want to kill me... though I see no reason why you would consider doing such a thing."

Peachie - February 1, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
Watching the others curiously, her eyes shifted to Shade. Hmm. A shapeshifter as well. Standing on all fours, then stepping back a few steps, the griffin began to change as well. The feathered skull and coarse fur began to change into human skin. The beak began to form into her nose, freckles appearing on the bridge. The feet and body began to change into a human's; bones crackled and popped as the spinal cord changed. The wings stayed upon her back, sprouting from her shoulder blades. The tail remained, as did slightly pointed ears. Loose clothes formed over her body, though in the back of her shirt were two holes where the wings sprouted from, which were currently folded on her back.

Now standing at 5'4", the wings looked smaller than what they had been, though the color sill remained. Tilting her head to the side, she cracked her neck, a loud popping noise filling the air.

"Ah, much better." Pause. "Ah'm Abby."

She took a few steps forward, a faint smile tugging at the edge of her lips. She was glad to have met others like herself. Her wings folded and relaxed on her back as the same, pale blue eyes shifted from Shad to Drathor.

"Just... strolling." Another pause. "But what did you mean by telepathy?" Abby asked Drathor, arching an eyebrow.

Skirr - February 1, 2004 08:34 PM (GMT)
Shad watched the griffon-girl morph in silence. Why was he here? Humans? No... Not Humans. Money. Couldn't afford a house. Unlike the other two, he could blend into society pretty well. Save for the cloak he always wore. He'd have to replace it with a trenchcoat soon, but finding a trenchcoat that was small enough for him, but big enough for the wings, would be hard.

"Not running from humans, no..." His eyes were back on Drathor. "... I live 'round here. 's easier to live like a bird than like a human... Money n' all."

He turned back to glance at the girl, called Abby. Telekinetic? And didn't know it, perhaps? Shad said nothing.

Drathor - February 2, 2004 02:55 AM (GMT)
Drathor looked thoughtful for a moment. The two creatures here didn't seem to share his hate for humans... or at least, not so willing to express it. Drathor shrugged it off. He would have also been a bit more comfortable if these two didn't have such human-like appearances.

Drathor looked down at the two for a little longer from the tree, and finally decided to jump down, landing on his taloned feet perfectly. he then looked thoughtful for a moment before talking again.

"What? You weren't doing that on purpose? Hmm... odd... I don't know... maybe living alone so long is finally getting to me or something," Drathor said shrugging, "could have sworn I heard a voice in my head right before I noticed you... I'm certain of it... you said something along the lines of 'teach who what?' but I heard the voice in my mind... not my ears... hmm..."

Drathor looked between the two quietly for a moment, then said, "Seems obvious that I'm the only one out of us three who has had umm... bad experiences with humans... well, no matter.... doesn't bother me as long as you don't attack me..."

Peachie - February 5, 2004 12:12 AM (GMT)
Abby shook her head slowly. "Nope. But I did say that... in my head of course." Folding her arms across her chest in thought, her eyes shifted to the ground momentarily, fixating on a rather boring bush.

Living like a bird? Abby hadn't ever thought about it, didn't really even consider it. But she supposed for him it would be easier.

Looking up from the ground, she now arched an eyebrow, looking at Drathor curiously. "Nah. I won't attack ya'..." Pause. "Bad experiences, eh? Like what?" She inquired, her arms still folded across her chest.

Skirr - February 5, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
Shad shook his head. No bad experiences, per say. Humans were, of course, thorns in ones side at times, but they were just the lucky few. His dad and stepmom, for instance. But that hadn't been for his wings. They didn't even know about his wings...

"No... I rather like humans..."

He'd keep this continuing thought to himself, for the idea of this one called Drathor looking so opposed to them, and him being so... Not... might not be a good idea.

Shad backed himself up from the group a tad. Bad experiences with dark places and trees and other males. Females too. Things in general.

Drathor - February 5, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
"Well, I really don't appreciate being shot at for one, which is what happened when i wandered into the city as a child one night... my parents disappeared one night, probably humans too... I really hate getting screamed at as well... stupid humans... they fear and hate what they don't understand...," Drathor said, angrily, "I'm tired of hiding... all I want is freedom, but humans refuse to give that to me..."

Drathor kicked at a tree quickly in anger, causing splinters to fly out, and leaving a deep slash from his talons. Then looked at the sky for a bit.

"The forest is nice... but to be out in the open with plenty of room to stretch my wings and being able to relax without having to worry about getting killed... that would be very nice... and I don't think it's too much to ask for..."

Peachie - February 5, 2004 01:05 AM (GMT)
She listened, watching Drathor's anger closely. She shrugged her shoulders lightly. "It is with humans. They don't understand people like us..." Her voice trailed off silently.

"Ah'd like freedom too... not have to worry about people gawking, or staring. But of course, that won't ever happen..." Again she let her voice trail off, her eyes shifting from Shad to Drathor as she shifted her weight from her right leg, to left.

Skirr - February 5, 2004 02:58 AM (GMT)
Shad didn't like being the pessimistic one, but his veiws were different from theirs. He believed magic should be kept a secret. A dark, dangerous secret. That the more careless Innish, like Gods and Vampires, should stop leaving their little clues to this world around. People who gave no care for the secrecy of it, who rebeled against the rules of it, those people were bad. And Shad was one of those people that'd do anything to stop it.

"You're right... I hope. I hope it never happenes."

And this might get stares from the other two, but that was nothing he felt concerned with. This was just talk, no? Not plans and plots against the Uninitiate humans. And Shad would stand here and keep an eye out for that.

Drathor - February 5, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
Drathor stared at Shad, instantly having a distinct hate for him, but no matter... if Shad's hope came true, Drathor would personally make sure that humans became the ones who started living in fear.

"At least you two have the ability to walk freely at least a little bit... me, I have to wander at night if I want to go to the city... and in VERY uncomfortable clothing, I might add...," Drathor said, not sounding too happy, then jumped up onto a tree branch right above them, and sat down.

"Why the hell do you want things to stay the way they are, anyways, kid? You do realize that if a human found out what you are, they would probably kill you in an instant? Hmph...," Drathor then looked at Abby, "You're right though... even if humans knew everything about creatures like us, they would hate and fear us... hell, they show that kind of prejudice to those of their own kind, how could they act any different to an entirely different race of creatures?"

Drathor looked at the sky then said, "Humans would be better of dead... and vampires with them since they are just nasty vultures who feed on humans... lycans are hard to trust sometimes too... but at least some understand what it's like to live and never truely be safe."

He then looked at the two on the ground again, "One way or the other... I'll find a way to change things... I don't care how... but things will change... one day... and if something isn't done soon... our existence may become common knowledge to humans... and if that happens... the consequences will be drastic if we don't have a good hold on how to fight them..."
