Title: Games with Mortals
Description: Yup

Skirr - January 10, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
Haze had been called. Some man had an umbrella that he tried to get up to protect him from the early morning drizzle when a gust of wind decided to form up and attack him. The umbrella went flying, and the man decided to call Haze, rather rudely. Unintentional as it was, she came, and decided to play with him. Fun for her tired soul, having traveled a who city away from home. She appeared to him to be a seven year old girl at first. Told him he said bad words and that he shouldn't yell at the wind. It couldn't help blowing. He dismissed her, picked up the umbrella and left. In a cafe, getting a coffee before work about ten minutes later, the employee of the store charged him over. He complained, and the young man told him it was for insulting the wind. That got an odd look, a 'Ok... You know what? I don't care!', and a near violent reaction outta him. He stormed out, leaving people staring in his wake. In the office, there was a message saying the wind was your friend. Deleted with haste. The janitor came by early to get the recycling, and told him that he was doing great job protecting the trees. Why didn't he help save the wind? The door of the office was slammed in the janitors face with a few angry and frightened words. There were three other visits, all driving the poor unnish mortal to the point of crying. He ran out to the street corner, screaming he was sorry for insulting the wind. He was sent to the hospital an hour later for unnatural and crazy behavior.

Now Haze was enjoying an ice cream. Lick lick lick... Not once did she swallow. It just... Disappeared. Nothing else to describe it. She was smiling, though. She looked pleased. Dressed in the usual light and airy clothing; dark gray cotton pants, a dark gray tank top, her sheer carcoat jacket (Which is mostly see-thorugh and offers her skin little to no protection from the harsh and cold winds), and black clog-like slip-on shoes. Her darkgray hair was down, blowing lazily in whatever gust of wind decided to blow by. Her eyes were of a bright blue hue. She didn't look cold, though it wasn't the best of winter days. Least it wasn't drizzling.

Lick, lick, lick...

((For Mighty Tao!))

General Tao - January 11, 2004 05:15 AM (GMT)
Unlike Haze, San had not found any 'business' reasons in order to walk away from the city. Boredom was his cause, and the simple fact that; Should he want to leave, he could. A question that often came from mortals to San's ears was 'Why?' to which he would simply answer: 'Why not?'. But like Haze he didn't seem dressed for cold weather, and instead adorned himself with plain black pants, an oxblood button up dress shirt, and a black tie which was loose and nearly midway down his torso. Over this he wore his classic black leather jacket, which was purely for decoration and with not one speck of dirt, or practicality.

He had walked in no direction, with no goal, and no watch. But when the winds picked up, and the breeze grew lush in spirit, he knew he had found something quite unexpected. A minor deity. And a pretty one at that...But he didn't recall ever meeting this one, and San prided himself on knowing all gods; Minor, demi or major. Perhaps their natures did not coincide, which is often the case, but that was no excuse, now was it?

Moving very slowly, hands in his pant's pockets, he walked up behind Haze as if he were a mortal with not a care in the world. He stood there for a moment, a passing breeze ruffling his soot dark hair. His hair was at a medium length today, and complimented his tan skin naturally, though the blood in his irises was highly noticeable due to his skin pigment.

"Enjoying yourself?" He asked, eyes watching the back of Haze's head with mild interest.

Skirr - January 11, 2004 05:28 AM (GMT)
Haze was blasting some wind at a piece of newspaper, when the voice came into her mind. Through her ears, no doubt, but ringing in her head all the same. She turned to face the man who had so rudely broken into her thoughts, and smiled. Ahhh. A god. How could she tell? The air around him screamed it. She stood up, and crossed her arms, a pleasant smile creeping across her face. The ice cream was gone. She had no need for it now.

"Viol! Pleasure to meet you in the flesh. Sorry I didn't stop in on you earlier. I intended to while I spent my day creating that sandstorm in the Middle East, but, you know. Conflicting work just buggered the whole thing up."

Another grin. Less pleasant, more devious. How did she know who he was? Ever since she made a fool of herself in front of another goddess, she decided she wouldn't ever again. No. Now she knew all the gods by their god marks; the one thing they couldn't change, no matter what form. The bloodied eyes gave him away as San.

"What brings you by?"

General Tao - January 11, 2004 06:12 AM (GMT)
San stood still as she began her bout of words, ending with a question. A slow smile spread over his lips, which could only be defined as 'creepy', as he eventually walked past her. Past her? No, he only took a few steps until his back was to her. He looked out at the small town ahead of him before actually answering her question, taking his time as he did so. "Everything and anything," he answered ambigueously, his husky voice ringing notes of seduction before he turned back around to her.

"And just what might you be doing up here?" He asked stepping back towards her in a few fluid strides.

Skirr - January 11, 2004 06:24 AM (GMT)
Haze grinned deviously. What had she been doing here? He'd like to know. It might make him feel more important, if being the second most threatening god out there wasn't enough. Next to Az, everyone feared war. It brought on death. Violence. It brought on death. So he was second, but he was still more powerful than she'd ever be.

"Oh... Some pathetic unnish called me. Poor mortal got a couple visits through out the day from me, the last one driving him up the wall insane. He took it out on a lady down the street. I think they sent him to the hospital... Poor guy."

Her bright blue eyes faded gray, dark gray with bright blue streaks flashing through them. Reminising on her play things adventure. Still smiling.

General Tao - January 11, 2004 06:31 AM (GMT)
He came closer, leaning towards her at an almost impolite distance, but still seeming like a good, well controlled god. Not at all the case, obviously. He ran his tongue over his teeth, his lips closed, giving him a very well pretended human look of thoughtfullness.

"Sounds exciting...So what do you call yourself?" He looked amused, wanting to have actually been able to see this poor man go insane...Then again, he would have probably been bored very quickly by the scene, demanding it have more blood.

Skirr - January 11, 2004 06:57 AM (GMT)
Haze shrugged, and spoke out a string of names.

"In this form, Anemone, Aure, or Canace. Friends call me Haze. Choose your pick."

She was bending to his choice. Minor god bowing to the major god. She didn't even fight the distance, though a face and a name tugged her back from perhaps closing it. But she made no move to shun it. He had the power. She knew it. Maybe changing the subject for both their benefits was best. She pointed down the street, casually and coolly, to a string of clubs. All the cities had some.

"You wanna go play with some mortals? Bars over there for barfights. I've had about enough of the wind for one day."

She'd be calling herself if she could. That was, in her book, an insult to her own element. And a dead give away that she wasn't being herself. The other god held all the power.

General Tao - January 11, 2004 07:28 AM (GMT)
"I haven't," He replied in a monotone, his warm and scratchy voice declaring a final note. He sat down quietly on the ground, knees drawn up to his chest and his arms resting on them comfortably. He wasn't in the mood for petty bar fights, at the moment. If he had moods, anyways. He looked back up at her, a smile again playing across his lips.

"Sit with me, Haze?" He asked playfully before finally laying on his back with his hands behind his head.

Skirr - January 11, 2004 07:43 AM (GMT)
Haze shrugged, and sat. Sat, then leaned herself back, as he was doing, except she let her legs lie straight out in front of her, and rested her hands on her stomach. She let slightly clouded blue eyes look over the slightly clouded sky. The rain had cleared up, and the last bit of daylight sky was showing through. The clouds were moving lazily along. Aside from the cold and wet of the ground, kinda looked like a summer scene. She couldn't help but pull a childsbook classic.

"Now -that- cloud... Looks like a duck."

Sure, it looked a bit like a duck at first, but something unworldly made it look more duck-like. Wind wisked the cloud up into the ducklike figure. Heck... The beak even opened.

"Quack quack..."

Her words fit with the beaks movements. Amusing. She smiled at her work, and looked over at San.

General Tao - January 11, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
"Y'know...that would be considered cheating..." San said in his husky monotone, though a fresh taste of amusement carried his voice. He watched the cloud move slowly across the sky, beak still opening and closing. He looked over at Haze, a grin spreading over his lips, inexplicably charming, and he gives her a wink of his red eye.

"I think I may have heard your names before, honey, a certain goddess seems to remember you..."

Skirr - January 11, 2004 06:51 PM (GMT)
Haze giggled. Cheating... Yes cheating. But it was so much more amusing that way. She stopped animating the cloud, letting it puff back out to its regular state. She looked back to San, caught his wink, and her smile died. Not because of the wink, no. Grace. What was she saying about Haze to the Big Seven? How many of those gods now despised her? She cast her eyes to the grass.

"Yes... Grace. Friend of mine. 'Fraid we have had a couple of conflicting issue. I didn't know who she was n' I talked down to her. She forgave me for that. But... She doesn't like a... Friend of mine. 'Fraid they tried to kill one another. Twice. Think that might have put distance between us."

Haze smiled thoughtfully. Reminicing. Why would she be smiling at the thought of losing a friend? There was more.

"But, daaahlingk, do tell me. How do you know her?"

General Tao - January 11, 2004 07:50 PM (GMT)
San listened to Haze's explanation quietly, but attentively, looking up at the deep sky. At the part where she told him about how Grace and a 'friend' of hers tried to kill each other he smiled slowly. Then another tempting little question rose up yet again...

"How could I not know, dear Grace? Though I can't say I've seen much of her lately. I should like to, though. I should like that very much..." His warm deep voice was in a kind of neutral stance, but a soft chuckle was what came after his fading words. He turned his head to look at Haze, red eyes wide with ovious amusement. "But you, my dear goddess, are quite an unexpected treat...Tell me about this friend of yours." He turned his head upwards towards the sky, his square jaw set.

Skirr - January 11, 2004 09:33 PM (GMT)
Haze snickered. The Big Seven were always in someone elses pants, usually the pants of another major god. And War seemed to want to be in Love's pants. Lucky Grace. Lucky Viol. Haze stopped snickering, and pondered how she'd describe her 'friend' to San.

"Let's see... He's a vampire, and Grace's part werewolf, so naturally they hate each other. I don't know why this is, they both just told me to accept it and accept the fact they won't change. Other than that, he's nice, and helpful... And romantic."

She smiled back at San. Devious and very pleased smile.

"And, tell me, San. How is little ol' me a treat to someone like you?"

General Tao - January 11, 2004 10:53 PM (GMT)
Someone like him? Oh that was beyond lovely. San sat up, knees still bent, and remarkably not one blade of grass sticking to his leather jacket. His dark black hair was attractively mussed, and as he turned to look at her he had another grin on his tan face.

"I don't think it would be polite to voice, sweets," He replied calmly, his grin fading in to a victorious smirk. Almost absent-mindedly he played with the hem of her jacket, as if his warm fingers needed to keep busy.

Skirr - January 13, 2004 03:48 AM (GMT)
Haze smirks lightly, but her eyes seemed troubled. Name and face... Name and face. Something telling her not to fall to San. But... This name and a face belonged to a mere immortal... Gods had priority. If San asked her to do what he wanted she had to. This didn't mean she didn't feel a bit more reserved. Name and a face... Name and a face...

"Oh really? Must be dreaming..."

Still smiling, not less friendly, but not more inviting. She doesn't swat his hand away, but a thought comes to mind.

"But if anything, not here."

That would be wonderful... Here, in the park, in front of everyone... She mentally shuddered.

General Tao - January 13, 2004 04:01 AM (GMT)
San leaned back, but this time infinitely closer to Haze, facing her on his side. Face to face. He exhaled deeply as his blood red eyes grazed over her form, the hand that had been previously on her hand had krept up her torso and now rested warmly on her opposite side. He put a bit of pressure on this hand, perhaps it would have hurt anyone excepting a goddess, but he pulled her towards him so she too faced him on her side.

"And why not here?..." He whispered, hot odorless breath, his lips brushing her own, her cheeks, her eyes. The hand that was on her side began playing with her dark hair, enjoying it's length.

Skirr - January 13, 2004 05:41 AM (GMT)
Haze let herself become too close for normal comfort, still smiling. That name and face seemed to be fading now, with the closeness of someone else. And she was feeling less wrong about it. She'd likely be out tonight, crying like a mortal. But hell, that was later. A smile flickered across her lips.

"Why not here? Too many people..."

She let herself disappear from his arms. Standing, giggling quietly by a tree nearby.

"Let's get out of the park."

General Tao - January 13, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)
"Where do you want to go?" San asked, stepping out from behind the very tree she was standing beside. He was grinning softly and came close to her again, heat eminating off of his form, as if running a fever. The God of War was always unusually hot in body temperature. Who was the fool who said people were often killed in cold blood?

He walked around her in an almost predatorial way, his hand trailing across her stomach as he passed. Eventually he stood behind her, his lips to her ear. "I can take you anywhere," he stated softly. San would have happily done unspeakable things on the very park grass, but he was not a picky God...

Skirr - January 14, 2004 02:16 AM (GMT)
Haze turned to face him, not at all suprised that he appeared there. More touching, more questions. Devious smile, flashing eyes.

"Go... Suprise me. Take me somewhere were motrals could never go."

This killed two birds with one stone. Killed the fact that this was, in her eyes, supposed to bit a bit romantic. This also killed the fact that someone would be watching. Let him think of a place.

General Tao - January 14, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
The request made San smile like a snake. A place where no mortals would ever go? Well, he knew only too many...His arms wrapped around Haze's waist slowly, resting warmly over her. Their surroundings began blurring, until eventually everything seemed to be in a fog of red dust, as if mars had sprinkled it's own unique earth around them. Soon though the blurring stopped, things became solid. Things became real. This was all in a matter of moments and for Sanguis, utterly natural.

The environment which now surrounded them was what seemed like a barren beach. Barren, that is, of human life. San stood, his arms slowly unwrapping from Haze's waist, ankle deep in blue sea water. He waded through it a bit, looking out towards the ocean where the sun was minutes from setting. He then turned back to her.

"Satisfactory?"

Skirr - January 14, 2004 03:11 AM (GMT)
Haze watched as the surroundings blurred to a haze, and then... To a beach. A very empty beach. The sand was disturbed by no footprints, except those of birds. The water crashed nearby, and her smile crept up across her face. Frightfully clever. She liked water. No, she loved water. She smiled at the water lapping at her ankles, and waded out to join him.

"Very satisfactory. Splendid, even."

She smiled again, and slipped an arm around his waist, pulling herself close. She made no other move. He'd have to do it. Her concious was bitching at her about some guy... Likely thousands of miles away.

General Tao - January 15, 2004 12:16 AM (GMT)
San wasn't the type to simply stand by and watch. Proactive was his word, his meaning, his blood. His hands placed themselves on either side of Haze's hips, pulling her closer, if possible. He then took her lips with his own quickly, but the kiss itself was slow and careful. He was done with games. His right hand inched over her thigh and eventually he lifted her leg from under her knee until it was lifted to his own thigh, which allowed them to get closer still, his thumb rubbing her thigh slowly. It was like a tango dance, only San was more impulsive than graceful. His other hand found it's way to the crook of her neck and very tactfully he led them both down to the soft salty water surrounding them, sinking in to the cool water and sand.

Skirr - January 15, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
Haze accepted his lips hungrily, and slid both hands to his back, holding him close to her. The invite of him lifting her leg around him was just that. And invite. She wrapped it around the back of his thighs, and let herself be laid down into the water and sand, which, by any other circubstances, would have been a pain to deal with at this moment. To her, it wasn't wet, cold, or even clinging to her. Her hair did not get wet and sandy. And she imagined he wouldn't either. Qucik hands slide around the obsticle of the shirt to feel... Warm. Not warm, no... Hot. Something wasn't right... This should be cold. No... This should be freezing and exciting to her. Instead, it was warm and soothing...

Uh oh...

General Tao - January 15, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
San could feel the water around, but it didn't effect any material aspect of him, just as it didn't seem to effect Haze. His clothes remained dry, as did his skin and hair. His touches became more heated and his hands explored her lustily, his kisses diverting slightly to her neck. He hears her thoughts loud and clear...Hm. Oh well.

Skirr - January 15, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
Haze froze. No... This wasn't right. There was no bite with the kiss to her neck. Not... Right... She removed her own hands from his back, and seemed to forget for th moment that she could make herself disappear, never to see this man again. No. She pulled back inside herself, clinging to... Mortal thoughts. Fight, kick, scream... Get away. She pulled her face away from him, and muttered a slightly apologetic comment.

"Er, San? This... Ummm... I... I have to go..."

This was accompanied with hands gently pushing him off her, scolding a rather rude one from her chest, and trying to squirm away.

General Tao - January 15, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)
San leaned upwards so he could look down at her fully, his hands now placed on either side of her head to support himself. His arms were strong and as he watched her now it was with intense but unnaturally empty eyes. The blood that coloured his irises was still bright, and his face remained unreadable. For a moment it seemed he didn't understand, and in he didn't move as she pushed gently, though he made no move to stop her.

"I don't understand," he said in his scratchy deep voice, his tan face for a moment looking slightly confused. Eventually the God's expression softened. "Oh...Loyalty..."

Skirr - January 15, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
Haze avoided looking into his eyes. Yes, it was disloyal. Yes, it was rude. Yes, it was slutty. But then again, not entirly his fault. She played the game too. And, though it didn't emotionally hurt, it would have. She felt low.

"Erm... Yeah... Sort of..."

She had stopped moving away. Still quite close to him. She was confused at what to do. She owed the God over the Immortal. She owed the First over the Second. She owed San a followthrough with her actions, and owed Zesiro a loyalty. GOD she could use a drink. Too bad it wouldn't do anything.

General Tao - January 15, 2004 02:51 AM (GMT)
Indecisiveness. He could taste it from the timber of her voice and the look in her eyes. How should a God, a God such as Viol, for that matter, take this? San leaned downwards again, his face mere centimeters from hers. The corners of his lips cruled slightly in a closed-lip smile. "You want cold?..." he asked, leaning closer, "You want fangs?..."

Skirr - January 15, 2004 03:17 AM (GMT)
Haze drew her face back a bit, and flushed. He shouldn't be reading her thoughts. And he shouldn't try to replace Zesiro... He shouldn't. She smirked, and pushed herself back towards him. One quick kiss, then she was gone. Standing behind him. Fun with moving around.

"Yes... As a matter of fact, I do. Do you have the time?"

She was being rude now. Rude and disrespectful. She was toying with the God of Violence and War. She had better hope he himself wasn't violent. Her behavior could get her hurt. Mentally, of course.

General Tao - January 15, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
When Haze had disappeared and reappered behind him and standing up, San had sighed with the air of someone who was frustrated. He turned around but remained seated on the ankles deep sea water, which was lapping and kissing the beach sand with the soft slow waves. He still looked completely dry, and he let his legs stretch out in front of him while he leaned back on his palms.

A soft little groan emitted from his throat, soon accompanied by a sober laugh. "You aren't being fair..." He said softly, but somehow with a tone of certain danger, "I like that." Large toothy grin, which faded in a matter of seconds. "But if you think I'm leniant like the other Gods and Goddesses you are severely mistaken. Go to your vampire lover," he said, waving vaguely with his hand. His tone didn't seem disgusted or impatient, but just short. A real chord of finality.

Skirr - January 16, 2004 01:18 AM (GMT)
Haze knew her place. She knew that she shouldn't mess with a god. Especially one such as San. Then again, what she knew and what she listened to seemed to be on different pages. She disappeared again.

Only to reapear behind him, whispering lightly. Airly.

"Some other time, Viol. Some other time..."

And again, gone. But she wasn't going to stay gone. No. She was still waiting. For what? That note of finality in his voice wasn't enough to brisk her away? Not really. She sat, hidden from his current vantage point, behind a sandy knoll. Watching. Waiting. The time, as she had inquired for, was late afternoon. She had three hours to kill before she could do as he told her to do.

General Tao - January 16, 2004 10:05 PM (GMT)
As her response came back to him from behind he stood up swiftly, only to sense she had disappeared once again. No water ran off of his clothing, but it seemed as he took a few steps, pivoting to look around, that he still moved the water, sending ripples. Perhaps the very smallest molecules of the sea were parting microscopically in order not to get his pants wet. Then again, perhaps not. As Haze still remained, San knew it. He could still taste the air. She was here. She was close.

The hands at his sides turned to fists.

"There won't be another time, babe. It ends here. But please...Feel free to regret and fantasize about me," His toothy grin returned, his blood eyes suddenly locking on the sand bank she was behind, though no one but another god may have known. "I always like that." And suddenly a swirl of red dust surrounded him, and San was gone.

The waves kept lapping at the sand. The wind kept stirring the palms. But Violence was gone, and only red dust in the salt water he had been standing in, was left.

Skirr - January 17, 2004 03:33 AM (GMT)
Haze wasn't suprised that he knew she was here, and she wasn't shocked that he might be mad, but she did not expect it to be phrased quite so bluntly and dramatized. She expected nothing of that. She certainly wouldn't fantasize. But she would feel something close to regret. More a nagging of her prain telling her that morals she had learned way back when had been infringed upon, and that normally that wasn't right. She was still so mortal.

The red dust was blown and scattered away with the final disappearance of Haze. The wind diluted it to mere nothingness amidst the sand.
