Title: Wanna Play Some Cards?

Caltha. - January 1, 2004 12:07 PM (GMT)
Leans back, a little farther. A little more recon. A little more of a look-see, shall we, and he's on his arse looking up.

Floor's hard. Clean, too, smells kinda good and lemon-y. But it's trying to beat the shit out of his tailbone, and his tailbone hits back.

"Daaaahhhh."

Growls at a drop of spilled whiskey and it absorbs into his skin, the deity throwing himself back upwards and slamming the bottle back onto the table. It makes a satisfying 'cer-splush' noise.

"Bet he's goin' for three sixes.. heh.."

Scratches the back of his head, checking his own cards.

Paris - December 29, 2003 06:35 PM (GMT)
Tympan shuffled a deck of cards. He didn't seemed to be playing anything in particular just shuffling. The cards tapped out a beat as Tympan closed his eyes and weaved his head to and fro.

*tap* *tap* *bang* *shuffle* *tap* *tap*
*tap* *tap* *bang* *shuffle* *tap* *tap*...

He was in his usual rocker form; leather jacket, jeans with holes in knees, heavy boots, Metalica shirt, and messy blond hair. He sat in front of a round table with three other seats. A bottle of whiskey sat in the middle of the table, unopened for the moment. He continued his rhythm, openly enjoying himself.

||| - December 29, 2003 07:35 PM (GMT)
Another rhythm is added to Pan's-- the tap, tap of (relatively) normal fingernails.

Death has appeared in a seat at the table, and is drumming his fingers in a slow rhythm, accompanying that of Music's.

He seems to have decided to go 'white' today-- he's wearing a white suit jacket, white slacks, a white dress shirt and a white tie. The tie has a small black-outlined smilie face on the bottom end.

As usual, his skin is white enough to match his outfit, his hair is white enough to match his skin and his eyes are white enough to beat them all.

Lady Delirium - December 30, 2003 12:01 AM (GMT)
No sound, no extra beat to the rhythm, no just another person filling another seat between Az and Tym. Grace had decided on relatively normal today, wearing a white dress shirt, black tie and a knee length black skirt. Resting her elbow on the table, she rested her cheek against the palm of her hand. Her hair was blonde again , her original color, and falling in tendrils lightly touching her shoulders.

Her eyes followed Tympan’s hands as he tapped the cards against the table and then too look up at him.

”Do you always wear that shirt when you look like that?” Drawing her legs up onto her chair she rested her chin on her knee, watching him curiously through a partially lidded gaze.

”What game are we gonna play?”

Paris - December 30, 2003 01:04 AM (GMT)
Tym stopped tapping and looked down at his shirt. "Eh, what? What's wrong with me shirt? I designed it you know. It's my pride and joy." It was mock pride, he had many shirts to choose from, he was just too lazy to change it. "Oh well, 'ow's this?" He snapped his fingers and the Metalica logo disappeared and in it's place was the Spice Girls and the shirt's colour changed to pink. A pink Spice Girl's shirt just looks wrong with a leather jacket, but Tym didn't seem to mind.

"As for the game... Azzy's choice. Seniority and all that. What says you, Az?"

||| - December 30, 2003 01:12 AM (GMT)
The elder god stops his tapping and shrugs.

"How about... go fish?" he suggests, with a customary grin. Both bony elbow, encased in white suit sleeves, are set on the table and he rests his chin in his hands, watching the other two.

"Shouldn't we wait for our etheral druggie?"

Caltha. - December 30, 2003 01:36 AM (GMT)
"You called?"

Broad smile and a fourth chair is occupied, tilted on its axis and hosting an only mildly soused Di decked in Mighty Mouse pajama pants and a Microsoft sweatshirt. He grabs the whiskey, twisting the top off with a small 'squeak' of metal.

"What're we playing, then?"

A long swig.

Lady Delirium - December 30, 2003 02:14 AM (GMT)
Grace glanced over at Di and gave him a wave of acknowledgment. She was watching him now; her eyes had left Tym though she spoke to him.

”I was thinking more along the lines of The Cure, but pink looks so ravishing on you, it’s fine.” A tilt of her head as he started to down the bottle.

”Um, right, Go-Fish, Az got to choose, something about seniority…”

Paris - December 30, 2003 04:05 PM (GMT)
"Eh Di! Nice ta see ya. Don't forget to save some of that for me." Tym grinned as his ol'buddy drank the liquor. "Looks like Azzy's gonna get beat this time, eh Di?" He leaned over to Grace. "Keep an eye out, Azzy cheats like 'ere's no tomorrow. We figure that's why 'e's always winnin."

Tym dealt out four cards to everyone. He put the pile down in the middle of the table and fanned the cards out into a circle. Tym lifted his cards and gave Di 'the signal' to look at Az's cards.

||| - December 30, 2003 04:11 PM (GMT)
Azrael picks up his cards and fans them out only the slightest, letting just the edge of a number and suit show from behind the next. He currently has a four, a six, a jack and an ace. Of course, there's nothing saying that won't change.

"I don't have to cheat, Pan. I always win in the end. Its just a matter of time." His thin white lips part in a teasing grin.

Caltha. - December 31, 2003 07:37 AM (GMT)
Sip-leeeeeeeeeeean. And no, he's not obvious at all, nearly falling off his chair with hair all about his eyes.

"Y'know, technically, I'm the patron god of this game."

One wouldn't know it by looking at his cards. A two, a three, a four, and a five. But damn did he have a straight or what?

Lady Delirium - December 31, 2003 08:23 AM (GMT)
"It's seniority, dear Radioactive Hobo, not pationis-a never mind, Az got to choose this time, you can choose the next game if it's fine with every one else."

She glanced up at Az, "You TRY to suck out the fun by your random cynical quips, don't you?" She raised an eyebrow before shaking her head and picking up her cards. Lifting them she glanced at the numbers…

”Wait, one, two, three, four... I thought you played with seven cards in Go-fish...” Glancing over she watched Tym, more then a bit confused. A two, another two.. a four and a nine.

Paris - December 31, 2003 02:35 PM (GMT)
Tym gave Di an urgent nod and a whispered now. He turned to Grace "Eh, trust me on this one. We've been playing this game for... awhile. We've been playing it since it was new and simple. Simple as in ya get four cards and when ya get a pair you put it down annnnd when someone yells go fish ya pick up a card."

He gave a big grin to mask the crap he had dealt himself: King, Queen, Eight, and Five. "Ey Azzy, why doncha start us off?"

||| - December 31, 2003 06:44 PM (GMT)
The God of Death and Dreaming fans his card, scans his cards, then snaps them closed and stares across the table at Grace.

"Do you have a six?" he intones, pulling a perfect poker face which is completely uselss in a game of Go Fish.

Lady Delirium - January 1, 2004 10:08 PM (GMT)
A quick glance at her cards revealed no six, “Go Fish.” A shudder as Di hit the floor, wonderful balance that guy had. A shift, she’s uncomfortable, well not really shifting just seemed like the thing to do to occupy her time.

”Are the rules different then when you use seven cards, you know, other then having different cards to start out with?”

Paris - January 2, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
Tym shrugged. "Beats the hell out of me, we just play random rules until we decide someone wins."

Tym idly shuffled his four cards around, and look down to his friend and partner in crime. "Eh, Di. Stop spilling my whiskey! Oh... and pick yourself up, it's your turn."

||| - January 2, 2004 05:35 PM (GMT)
Azrael raises a hand to stay Di.

"One moment. I haven't gone fish yet."

The god reaches down and plucks a card from the deck, grinning. The card is, indeed, a six, and he sets his pair down on his side of the table.

"Now it's Di's turn."

Caltha. - January 3, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)
Makes a face at the sixes.

"Traitors."

Shuffle, shuffle, and he's even staying upright this time, face contorted in an intense concentration. The little symbols on the card keep.. dancing.

Slow, confused look at Pan.

"Three? Fish?"

A waggling gesture with his hand, as if to accept bounty.

Lady Delirium - January 3, 2004 07:47 AM (GMT)
Yeah, he was drunk, but wasn’t he always? She’s not sure what to say, just watched, peeking out over the top of her own cards. Shifting again, letting her feet touch the floor remembering that she was wearing a skirt and it wasn’t exactly fun to have almost all of your thigh exposed.

She turned to look at Tym, waiting for his response to Di.

Paris - January 4, 2004 07:04 PM (GMT)
"Ha! Hook, line and sinker, Di. Go fish!" Tym liked not giving out his cards.

He didn't even wait for Di to pick up his card. He turned to Grace. "Have any Kings there, love?" His hand wavered over the "pond".

||| - January 4, 2004 07:17 PM (GMT)
Azrael arranges his two sixes perfectly straight to the edge of the table and to the edges of each other. He then folds the cards in his hand tight together and holds them against his chest to keep them from prying eyes.

He watches the game, cooly.

Caltha. - January 5, 2004 03:58 AM (GMT)
"Ur."

A barely coordinated swig of whiskey and a grab into the card pile, pulling out.. a.. nine!

How exciting. He had no use for a nine.

If he's glaring at Az, it isn't immediately obvious. If you're facing in a completely opposite direction.

Lady Delirium - January 6, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
A glance at Pan, then at her cards, she knew them, so why did she keep looking back? For reassurance or something probably.

”No, no King, go fish.” A quick glance around, her turn. A brief smile, she had a plan.

”Di, do you have any threes?” Sure, it was a plan, just not very constructed yet, she didn’t quite HAVE any threes to match it, but wait and see. The plan would soon be functioning, a fully functioning plot, okay, MAYBE not, but wasn’t her fault.

Paris - January 6, 2004 03:23 AM (GMT)
Tym laughed, out the blue, nothing in particular was funny. He lifted a card out of the pile. It was a fo... No a ki... Too noticable... So it was a queen. A queen worked nicely. It also seemed to be a bit obvious that he was looking at the card for longer then usual. He put down his queens with a noticable slap. "Heh, well ain't that lucky? Looks like the gods are smiling upon me today... No, wait it's just Azzy." Tym offered a big grin that almost rivaled Az's trademark.

||| - January 6, 2004 02:23 PM (GMT)
Azrael's smile, on the other hand, had pulled into a secretive, close-lipped smile. He nods at Pan, as if to acknowledge his point, and waits for the game to continue.

Caltha. - January 8, 2004 12:05 PM (GMT)
"Um.."

A look at his cards. Scrutinizing.

"Nooooo."

The bottle is set down and he hands forth the proper card, as it's offended him with its presence.

"I lost track."

Another look at his own cards, then a pleading look at Az.

"Whose turn is it?

Lady Delirium - January 12, 2004 11:21 PM (GMT)
She takes the card, smiling slightly, still quite oblivious to what her plan will end up being.

She placed it between the three between the four and the nine because those two kept getting into trouble, damn arguers, all they ever did. Wait, she was making up personalities for inanimate objects again, wasn’t she? Grabbing the two twos which she had started out with she placed them infront og her in a small face down pile.

”Uhh…” she’d forgotten herself.

Paris - January 13, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
Reflective surface, reflective surface, reflective surface... Ah hah!

Tym spotted a small mirror that was advertising for Labatt Blue. It was pretty far away but that didn't matter, Tym had excellent eyesight. Unfortunately it wasn't rigged up good enough to view Az's cards. But that wasn't a problem. Tym concentrated on the glass, melting it, warping it til he could see around Az. When Az goes to look at his cards, Tym would see them too.

||| - January 13, 2004 03:03 PM (GMT)
"It's my turn," Azrael states, smiling benevolently at the deity in question. Well, pretty benevolently. Pretty damn benevolently for death.

And trust him to keep track of it, too.

He doesn't even look at his card. Instead, he asks, "Grace-- do you have an ace?"

Caltha. - January 15, 2004 02:04 PM (GMT)
Distracted stare at his left shoe.

"This game's so much better with those little.. fish cards."

Taps the toe, and looks up in slight surprise as if questioned.

"You know. With the fish?"

Lady Delirium - January 15, 2004 10:56 PM (GMT)
"Um, no, no Ace. Hey, Grace, Ace, that rhymed.. wow, I'm lame." she shook her head, smiling slightly. She turned to look at Di.

"Ah, fish, yes, I like fishies. Go Fish Azzy,"

Paris - January 16, 2004 07:58 PM (GMT)
Tym, slightly disappointed that death caught on to his plan. Bloody Cheater... He placed the cards on the table and examined the backs. "I don know about the fishes but these bicycle cards are still tops in my book." He lifted one of the cards and held it out towards Grace. He lowered his voice to sound mystical "They were created by the Barbarians themselves." A weave of his hand and he was his old loud self again. "Well then Barbarians, now sophisticated. Says they... Course there was the Rolling Stones. Bloody fun aren't they? They just keep going an' going..."

Caltha. - January 18, 2004 02:44 PM (GMT)
"And gatherin' no moss."

A clear, lucid grin and the liquor is back in hand, trailing down his throat before his tastebuds recognize the burn.

"'Zit my turn yet?"

He peers down at his hands, having apparently misplaced the cards. They lie waiting, face-down, on the table.
