Title: Frills and Thrills
Description: Xii unt Ade!

Time? Mid-afternoon. Place? The front yard. It was sunny with some clouds to block the sun shining down here and there. It was oddly cool, but that isn't surprising, really. There was a slight wind and a chance that the dark storms in the distance might come here and bring rain and thunder. Despite that, it doesn't stop one Alister Nigel Pierce from watering his garden. He was using the hose and long watering neck thing, hell if he knows what it is called, to do so.
He was primped out, having just come from going out to chill and shop. His long platinum/silvery-gold hair let loose with a few braids with beads here and there. He wore a pair of large red oval sunglasses; female of course but who gives a damn? His lips were glossy and clear with sparkles from some lip stuff. He wore one very long, tee-shirt, very tight and thin, also very pink with orange polka-dots. Atop that shirt was another somewhat long one, a tank top in fact; a blue and greed plaid one, almost like a vest. Around his mid-section atop the shirt was a wide black leather belt with an ornate silver buckle. A pair of black skinny jeans held up by a rainbow-studded black-leather belt, it was covered by his long shirts though. On his feet were a pair of pink and yellow plaid girly slip-ons with pink bows on the toes. So what if they're for girls?
He was a bit of a shock to anyone seeing him, with his thick wooden bangles around his wrist and matching bead necklaces handing from his neck. One may think he's colorblind, but whatever, he looks good and he knows it. Every now and then he sprays the fat fluff of a cat that belongs to his neighbor. That thing's temper was even worse than Bubbles'. Maybe because it was a he and his name was Sophie. Bless the little girl who named him that. It was hilarious.

Adelie Heart was feeling particularly independent today and decided to celebrate by going out for a walk all alone. When the days were sunny and long the young girl enjoyed walking up and down residential areas or city streets full of people and quaint shops. Today, the former was chosen and she left her parents' house without a real explanation of where she'd be going. Since it was warm out, Adelie wore a little white buttondown blouse with the sleeves rolled up, small denim shorts, and thigh-high pink and white striped socks. On her small feet she wore pale orange ballerina flats with tiny white and pink charms. Her long hair was left down, the heavy hair cascading down her back only to pool just below her shoulders in comely, wavey curls. She'd brushed it until it shone in the sweet sun and done her makeup with bright gold and pink; to top it all off, she held in her thin hands a large, cherry lollipop. Perched atop her head were huge squarish-round sunglasses, black in colour.
While she strolled down the street the sky became a bit more cloudy, but this hardly phased her and she only turned the volume up on her Hello Kitty-decorated iPod (it was playing Hellogoodbye, by the way) and took a left down some nameless street. There weren't too many people out, and it must've been quiet. But over there was a -- wow! Adelie's attention was quickly caught by a colourful, very colourful, young man watering some plants. She looked him up and down and with every second that she did so she became more and more interested! Now here was a man that knew how to dress, and look at those shoes! Adelie couldn't express the joy she felt at finally seeing a man in Bayfield that wasn't afraid to dress properly. But she was also a bit intimidated by him, who wouldn't be? The young girl stopped a short distance from his yard, on the same side of the street as him, and stared down at her own outfit. 'Ehh,' she frowned a bit. 'His is so much cooler!' Then she stared back at him and continued sucking on her lollipop.
Kaylee - July 8, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
It was kind of funny how everyone was out. The neighbors still weren't used to him in his snazzy clothes or his sleek silver Polish Leopard 6 Liter Roadster that was currently in his garage. He had backed it in and left the garage door open to get some air in the musty-smelling storage area. Ugh. Any child's toy that came into his yard, the children ran to get it, but the parents seemed to think he'd jump them and molest them or something. Freaks.
Of course, being what and who he is, he can sense when someone is staring. A lot of eyes are on him, but today he could really feel a pair, and they were close enough. Slowly he turned around, and his gaze landed on one young girl. Oh, now she was adorable. And her clothes? Just as cute. What pretty hair, dark and curly, the opposite of his near silver, stick straight hair. He slowly raised a hand, pushing his sunglasses up to the top of his head. His icey-blue, near white, eyes were right on her, enhanced by his silver eyeliner and rainbow sparkle eyeshadow. He pursed his lips for a moment, then his wide mouth stretched into a large Cheshire Cat grin, with a slight smirk. But it wasn't feral, in fact it was almost friendly.
He raised his head in a nod.
"Good afternoon, miss."
If you expected a high voice, his smooth, deep Cathedral bell-like voice proved you wrong.
xii-tonique - July 8, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
She supposed it wouldn't have been long before the person she was staring at noticed she was staring, but still she was a bit startled when he turned around and spoke to her. Ohhh, he was so beautiful! Right out of a shojo comic! But he was much prettier than any of the drawings in any of her comics, and her glossy lips parted to form an umbrella shape at the sound of his voice. (Luckily she had just paused her iPod.)
"Hello!" She greeted happily. He'd called her miss! When you looked like Alice, it didn't take much to impress Adelie. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare ... It's ... I really love your shoes!"
... As soon as she said it, she felt stupid. Could she be anymore of a fourteen year old? The young girl bit her lip and dropped her gaze quickly, busying herself with her lollipop and smoothing out her little blouse. It wasn't long before she allowed her blue eyes wander his willowy frame, each new colour and article of clothing he was adorned in lovelier than the last. "Ohh," she made a longing sort of sound at his cute green plaid shirt. This man had to have been an angel of fashion! Okay, okay, just kidding.
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
Really, he could be. He has the right wings for the job.
He was near enough to turn the water off, he was done watering after all, he had been spraying at the cat whenever it came by, that was all. He set it on it's hook on the side of the house and then turned back to her, making his way back over. If he was like a character from a shojo manga, he'd either have sparkles or a flowery background at the moment. Actually, hell, his garden was full of roses, so it fit quite well. He was graceful in his walking, with a slight saunter to his step, confidence radiated from him.
He stopped in front of her, smiling, strands of his shorter-length hair in the front getting in his eyes. He solved that problem with a toss of his head, sending his hair, from the shortest length at cheekbone, to the longest length at his butt backwards, sleek and shiny under the sun - and out of his face. This was a very well practiced move you see. He was still smiling, light eyes watching her.
"Really? Why thank you, as are your's, though I admit to being even more fond of your socks."
His smile turned to a grin, and he set a hand against his hip. This girl had the makings of a fashion diva, in fact, what a doll.
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 01:57 AM (GMT)
Adelie watched him come closer, absolutely delighted by the sway of his long, long hair and his confident walk. Definitely shojo material! Her long lashes bat when he tossed his ivorygold locks and flashed his cheshire smile -- she became aware of how fast her heart was going. No one as beautiful as this man before her had ever seemed so realistic! Only in mangas or Japanese music videos had she seen such a radiant soul! Valentine came to mind and she smiled inwardly, fondly at the thought of him. Her brother was beautiful in a different way, and she wasn't ashamed of thinking of him in that way. Val was like a painting of something otherworldly, with a vampiric sort of elegance and grace. And this new male with the rainbow sparkles and pink and yellow plaid slips was gorgeous in a diva fashion queen fantasy creature sort of way. Adelie couldn't explain it, but he was so different and so exciting it was crazy! But maybe that was just his rainbow studded belt and black skinnies talking.
It seemed she had barely enough time to catch her breath and compose herself before it was her turn to speak again. The initial shock of how excellently this man was dressed (not to mention his stunning makeup job) was beginning to wear off, but was by no means becoming old news. Adelie beamed at the compliment and her adorable 'Heart' smile showed, one corner of her "candyblush pink" glossed lips slanted just a bit higher than the other and her cerulean eyes lowered to her legs and her knees turned inwards in a cute curtsey of sorts.
"Thank you! I ordered them from a Japanese company, I love Japanese street fashion," Adelie stopped herself before she began to babble. "Well anyway, I hope you don't think I'm too rude ... I was staring after all ... It's just that I haven't seen someone -- well, I mean --." She stopped and closed her eyes, organizing her words and thoughts. "I think you have excellent taste in clothes, and I've never seen anyone around here dress as well as you!" Adelie grinned and put her lollipop back in her mouth, her eyes leaving him for a brief moment to look at a mean looking cat (who was wet) slink about a rose bush.

Alice definitely fits into the 'diva fashion queen fantasy creature' category. At the moment at least. Get him into a suit of some sort with a top hat and tie back his hair, he can fit into the Gothic category very well. Get his wings out, you now have a Gothic fantasy. Good thing he isn't as violent anymore, but blood splatters look amazing against a white suit. There isn't a style he can't carry off except for 'Hobo' because he doesn't look like a Hobo. He wouldn't mind seeing her brother, but she needn't worry about him. He and Lucien are together, really. The other was out doing work or something, whatever he was, he was working. Alice didn't mind though, as long as he came home. Stupid demon.
And she was utterly adorable. Like a doll, truly. He wanted to dress her up and show her off.
He raised an eyebrow, looking up for a moment. Under the light his eyes became practically white with just a hint of blue. He was thinking and then he looked down at her, nodding.
"I'm familiar with it, I've seen pictures a friend took. I'm quite jealous of some of those items they have. Sadly, sewing isn't my strongest skill and I can't do some of those complex designs that they can."
The smile on his face grew wider through her rushed compliment and he gave a rich laugh after she was done, thrilled with her. Goodness, some people complimented him but this, he liked this much better. He gave a perfect, very gentlemanly bow.
"Why thank-you, m'lady, for your generous compliment. I must say you also have the obvious makings of an excellent style yourself."
He slowly stood up, seeing as he towered over her at 6'9". His hair cascaded over his shoulders and he cocked his head.
"I personally think this dull city needs more color."
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
After he started his sentence she tuned in around 'I'm quite jealous ...'. Her head had been in the clouds again, that was the last time! She promised! Finally she was getting into the swing of the conversation, but she was still intimidated enough by him to fear saying something stupid. However, Adelie should have trusted her Heart instincts better! It wasn't often a person from her family embarrassed themselves horribly. And though she wasn't as gorgeous as her angelic counterpart or vampire-like brother, she was adorable and poised in her own dolly way. Besides, what grace she did have was youthful and fresh and rather remarkable especially considering her age! Many other girls her age were sorry victims of teenage acne and awful awkward lanky bodies. Luckily she hadn't ever really had a lanky or blemishy stage, thanks to her genetics. Adelie had kind of just sailed from adorable little girl to pretty preteen.
"Ohhh, really?" She twisted and turned to get a good look at herself at his second compliment. "Wow, thank you!" Adelie watched him stand up and was again astonished by his amazing height. He was one of the tallest and most fashionable people she'd ever met!
"I agree, the city is kind of dull sometimes," she tasted her lollipop once again and removed her iPod headphones. "But I know ways of having odd fun." She giggled. "My name is Adelie Heart, by the way! What's yours?"
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
She was indeed a darling, pretty little thing. She reminded him of dolls he has seen over the years, precious and porcelain. He could fit her into the vampiric scene if they both worked together, but it'd take a little. But they could do it. Maxing out in the Gothic lolita area, they'd have to, but they could do it. He grinned. The girl was obviously fascinated with him and he was pleased. He appreciated being appreciated, especially by such a charming little creature.
"It is but the truth, my dear."
He smiled, interesting fun, hm? He smiled at her, head cocked still, nodding his head.
"I am Alister Pierce, but please call me Alice. It is a pleasure to meet you Adelie, what a charming name you have, I haven't heard it in a while. It's nice to meet a young girl not named Katie or Ashley."
He chuckled. He didn't blame the poor girls for their parent's mistake of naming them the same thing as every other girl, but they could at least go by their middle name.
"And you have me intrigued, odd way of having fun?"
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
The girly youth couldn't help but return the smile with a slanted one of her own, and she listened to his beautiful name. Truth be told, Adelie may have been disappointed if her new friend had had a name like 'Bill' or 'Pete'. But not only did he have a lovely full name, his alias was so perfectly fitting! Adelie approved completely. Oh! And it was clear that he approved of her name as well! The little girl giggled again -- she did have a friend or two with those names.
"Well, thank you! I promise to call you Alice, but Alister is also a beautiful name. Alice is so cute though!" She couldn't stop herself. "And thank you, I think Adelie is pretty, too."
Without really meaning to, Adelie tilted her head to match his, smiling happily as their gazes met now that her head was tipped just as much as his. She couldn't help but notice the ethereal hue of his near-ivory eyes, but she found that it only added to his angelic physical demeanor and that was all.
"Oh, I have a lot of fun in this city. But the best ways involve dressing up and taking photos. The only models I have are me, my doll, and my brother, though," she took another adorable lick of her cherry lollipop and frowned when she noticed it was almost finished. Adelie looked up at Alice with her face lit up. No! She couldn't ask that of him! They'd only known each other for a few minutes -- ! But it seemed like they were meant to be fashion icons together already.
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
"Thank you very much. I'm proud of it myself."
He named himself, after all. As for the Alice, a friend started that, after they commented that he looked like a male version of Alice from Alice in Wonderland. It got stuck but he didn't mind. He likes it actually. And he had more than a few girlfriends with that name. Gosh, he's never been a fan of females, but younger ones like this pretty thing have always appealed to him. Not in THAT way, weirdos. And if they grow up with him in the area and he continues to know them, he doesn't mind them when they get older.
He was very amused by her and his amusement only increased more when she too tilted her head. How cute. She reminded him almost of a kitten. His eyebrows raised, so she had a brother? He must be quite the looker, as she is, if he looks anything like her. And a doll too? How cute. He slowly smiled, whether she noticed it or not, she had that sort of tone like 'but I'd have another person to play with if you were willing'. Ah, children, even if they are preteens, they are still children.
He stood up, smiling, straightening out, hands tucked into his jean pockets in a relaxed manner, eyes almost glowing.
"That sounds positively fascinating, not to mention fun. I haven't done any sort of dressing up in a while."
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
Adelie crunched down on her lollipop and let it crush beneath her teeth while he straightened his posture and hid his pretty hands. She was staring up at him with large, (almost sparkly/wobbly) eyes and wondering what he was going to say next. It was true she was really wishing that she could just come out and ask him to play with her and take photos together, but she didn't know how! Besides, wouldn't that be weird? Hello stranger, want to wear some pretty clothes and take pictures with me?
But she didn't even have to ask. Alice had already answered with a yes!
Adelie gasped and her face lit up an extraordinary amount at his playful way of saying yes. Without being able to help it she took a step forward, wanting to give the beautiful man a hug -- but she stopped herself and instead threw her arms around herself and giggled an apology.
"You'd really want to? I mean, you don't think it's weird or anything?" Adelie asked quietly, blinking her huge eyes up at him. Besides, wouldn't it be boring to hang out with a fourteen-year-old? She didn't mention that aspect to him, but trusted he knew what he was doing. The girl wasn't afraid of Alice either, and she did have a cellphone in her pocket anyhow (not that she thought she'd need to use it).
"When?" She asked simply, and very happily.
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
Aww, he might've actually liked a hug from her. He wouldn't have minded, that is for sure. What a cutie. He gave another laugh, waving her apology off with a hand and a smile, no need to apologize to him, dear, you are a source of entertainment for him. And she's someone new. He loves meeting new people unless they are annoying or unattractive, truly he is a shallow creature but if their personality is fun and they make up for what they lack in looks, he doesn't mind hanging out with them. And of course he'd say yes. The idea was positively interesting and very much fun. He loved dressing up, he has plenty of clothes himself.
He raised an eyebrow, chuckling.
"Weird, my dear Adelie? I don't think anything is weird to me anymore. I've always liked dressing up. You should take a peek into my closet sometime. People could shop there if they wanted to."
He grinned then, winking at the girl in a playful manner.
"Time? Anytime really, yea, I'm pretty much available at any time, though sometimes I'm busy."
With Lucien. Mreowr.
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 05:07 AM (GMT)
Adelie giggled a little bit through her grin when he called her 'his dear'. It was true she enjoyed affection very much, and little pet names were a sure fire way to win her over. Upon hearing of how fantastic his closet must be, she gasped once more, very impressed by him at this point. The girl was also very pleased that he was not at all weirded out by her subtle request.
"Anytime, huh?" she pulled out her cellphone (a tiny silver little thing decorated with pink and white plastic jewels and lace) and flipped it open, the hellokitty charm jingling. "Can I have your phone number, Alice? We can plan a date!"
Oh dear, she hoped she wasn't being too forward.
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 05:19 AM (GMT)
As soon as she whipped her's out, he too pulled his orange iPhone, yes he actually has one, amazing, no? Extra points for her, most certainly, because he was about to ask for them. Smart girl, very smart indeed. He was chuckling, pressing a few buttons to get her profile set up.
"I was just about to ask for your's, dear. Let's see, mine is six-oh-four-six-six-four-four-four-nine-nine. Your's, poupée?"
He used pet names all the time. In fact, poupée is her official one now, because she reminds him of a pretty little French doll he saw one time. Positively charming.
"A date sounds fantastic."
And nonsense, she isn't being too forward. He likes forward people, it shows confidence in a way. He didn't like shy people that much. It aggravated him especially when people were constantly apologizing. But this pretty little thing was good and polite but also forward and charming. A good combination.
xii-tonique - July 9, 2007 06:17 AM (GMT)
Adelie was all ready for him to give her the number, so her fingers typed in each digit as soon as they left his lips. She then held her phone up and snapped a photo of him; even if he wasn't ready, the photo came out fantastically and she was all the more excited for their future photo date. "Hee! This is going to be so much fun," the girl smiled cheerily and then went straight to giving her number away.
"Six-oh-four, three-oh-nine, one-two-two-twwwooo!" Adelie nearly sang her number, as it had its own little jingle so she could remember it easily.
"I know a lot of good places we can go to, like the park, or the carnival." Adelie was grinning inwardly at the sweet little pet name Alice had called her and a blush could even be seen dusted across her otherwise pale cheeks. "You can text me whenever you want!"
Even if she didn't want it to, their meeting was coming to a close. She took a step back and waved to her newest friend while saying her farewells. "I guess I'll go back home now, Alice. Goodbye for now, it was the best meeting you!" But hanging out would be even better!
Kaylee - July 9, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
Even if he wasn't ready, his face was relaxed with a slight smirk to it, so at least he didn't have a retarded 'o' mouth. Good thing he didn't sneeze either. Mortifying. Her excitement was rubbing off on him and he was chuckling along with her giggles, nodding in agreement. He was just as ready, able to to type in her number, then take a picture of her sweet, smiling face. Goodness he was already fond of her. He decided to take her out shopping sometime. Yes, that sounded good.
"That sounds great, and I will."
He straightened up completely, having bent over to take her pictures, standing at his full 6'9", slender figure relaxed with a hip thrust to the side as he slipped his cell phone into his pocket. The girl was a natural charmer, there was no doubt about that. He raised his head in an upward nod, giving a little wave, a Cheshire smirk on his face.
"Till later, poupée, it was my pleasure as well."
He stood watching her for a while until he heard the hiss of Sophie and turned in time to dodge the pouncing. Well damn. He sauntered back to his house, perfectly calm and cool. Then, as he got inside, he phoned Lucien excitedly about making a new friend and how that damn cat next door keeps trying to kamikaze him.
The other was amused.
