Slumping back down into the plastic chair, Hannah flicked the ray-bands back over her eyes watching the children run past with ice-creams with envious eyes. Tilting her head back the lifegaurd sign caught the corner of her eye. So this would be her nearly full time job, shouting at little kids not to run whilst scooping vomit out from the pools.
Getting again she started her round of the pool. The red t-shirt hugged her figure happily whilst the shorts were slung low and loose around her hips. The tattered flip flops soaked, the small flowers steadily wearing away.
Grabbing the bouyancy aid she slung it over her shoulder, casually circling the pools. Avoiding concerned parents as much as possible. Children she could handle well, the thought of drowning and being rescued was like living in Candy World for them. For the parents, law suits were usually the favourite option.
Running a hand through her hair she paused to watch everything before her.Closing her eyes she listened to the water. It still had the artifical sound to it, being forced through pipes and pumped around continuously. The back of her neck prickled at the thought of just letting it free, wreck havoc. biting her lip she pushed the thought out of her mind before walking on.
Shuddering slightly as a chill ran up her spine, she turned quickly spanning the pool she was standing at before moving on to the next one. Something was wrong, something was very wrong.
A crowd of people had gathered around the edge of a pool, two men were supporting a child in the water with difficulty. The clean blue water was quickly being tinted red as the child spasimed in their arms as they shouted at each other.
Pulling her glasses off she cleared her way to the edge taking in what was in front of her. She froze for that split second, trying to figure out what was going on.
"Help us damnit!" one of the men called out to her.
Snapping out of it she threw the aid to them before diving in and swimming over. She could already taste the metalic hint of blood in the water.
