Title: Early Bird Gets the Worm

Bomani was feeling uncharacteristically nervous. For a good reason too, or so he felt. You see, Bomani had to leave Canada briefly. Business. The Egyptian was worried though. The briefly turned into something longer. He kept contact with his red headed companion but it was hard and sometimes had long pauses in between.
Most of all, Bomani missed Lucifer.
The best place to meet the same person he missed he felt was the park. Of course they could meet at the apartment Bomani had kept for Luc to live in but he wanted to meet here. First.
Sitting on the bench, looking at the Egyptian, he didn't look like he had changed much from the year or two, possibly stretching to three since they had last physically seen each other. His hair was still wispy, possibly a tad longer. It needed cut- his golden eyes were sometimes obscured. The twenty-something was still very tan and fit. Most of all, his expression was still harsh to those who did not know him.
So, he waitied. His hand was in his pocket, fiddling with the phone- just in case the other called. He had fussed earlier with his clothes but Bomani decided nothing else could be more fixed. His boots were fine, the jeans had not one wrinkle, and the black t-shirt with suspicious lumps of guns on him fit nice enough. Heck, he even tried to adjust the shoulder holster. Bomani never went anywhere unprepared.
Except for this. Emotions left him unsettled and confused. At least, in the waiting period that is. Which, Bomani was impatient. The Egyptian frowned during his wait, easilly forgetting that he was early.

Early... early. Lucifer never made it a point to be early, though waiting always made him anxious. Antsy. He didn't want to run into a distraction if he chanced an early arrival at the park, but... he didn't want to wait. The mage happened to be rather indecisive today.
His long brown hair had been tied back this fine afternoon, the ponytail hanging at mid-back; however, a few renegade pieces slipped out and fell on either side of his face. If anyone needed a haircut, it had to be Luc.
He felt good, all anxiety aside. He'd been able to secure a job with a woman who wanted some work done on her house (after such a drought in the carpentry world), and things had been looking up for him. The only thing he wished he could mend had been the distance between himself and Bomani, and... now that it was physcially possible, he began to feel increasingly nervous.
So, the German had finally arrived at the park, right on time. His torn jeans hung loosely around his hips, needing a belt to secure them, and his red tanktop was not much in the way of shirts. It exposed all of his scars clearly, but he didn't seem to mind anymore. The pink marks running from his wrists to his forearms were old history.
The way he walked, well... that, unfortunately, wasn't. The certain stagger had become a sort of characteristic, but he wasn't bothered so much. He felt pleased every day, knowing that he wouldn't be confined to that damn wheelchair.
It didn't take long for him to spot his Egyptian friend, and, forgetting how tentative he had been, he trotted up to him, a grin lighting his pretty pale face.
"Bo!" Like an excited school girl, times ten.

It was so good to see Luc. It had been way too long. He quickly stood up, allowing a very big, uncharacteristic smile take over his face. At first, he clutched the other's face gently, looking him over. His accent was still just as thick as it had been since he left. "Luc.." His eyes dipped down, taking in everything that was the man he missed. "Your pants are very.." His frowned, still at a loss for words, "Broken."
Maybe that wasn't such a welcome as some might think but it was Bomani's way of showing he cared and missed him. He let go of Lucifer's face in favor to hold him tightly against his body, kissing the top of his head. "Benhibik, my camel."

Lucifer didn't mind the touch; in fact, it felt nice to have Bomani's fingers on his face. He had, at that instant, been unable to contain himself. He stretched out his pale arms and hugged the Egyptian rather enthusiastically. Then he gave a laugh. A nice, long laugh that sounded like ringing church bells.
"Ich liebe dich, Bo." His lips stretched into a smile, happy to be safe in Bomani's arms.
"Missed you."

"So much time has passed, Camel."
The change in the brunette was so apparent. He looked comfortable in his skin. Proud of the German's progress, Bomani gave him another squeeze. "I am proud." Proud of Lucifer. "You are happy." He was happy too now. Happy to see Lucifer safe, right there in his arms. Bomani worried extensively about the other. He hadn't wanted to leave but he had to- and the Egyptian worried that the other was too depressed to take proper care of himself.
It looked like he was wrong and Bomani was never more glad to be so. "I missed you too, Luc."

At one point, Lucifer actually had been too pathetic to take care of himself. But, he had had a realization: he didn't want to die. He didn't want to have Chris destroy his existence, and he wouldn't let him rule his life. In other words, he had moved on.
He nuzzled Bomani's jawline with a grin. "Love you..." He clung to him with a contented sigh.
"Want to get some 'odd food'?" A laugh.

Seeing Lucifer so different from now mad Bomani so happy.. And so at ease. He could sleep better at night, knowing that Lucifer wasn't hurting himself. Then again though, Bomani would be with him now. The Egyptian would be insistent on it. More than insistent. Down right stubborn and impossible.
"Yes, Camel. I'd like to have "odd food". It has been too long." Moving to walk in any direction the brunette chose, he slung an arm around his shoulders. "Tell what you have done in the years." His English was getting better but it was still painful for an English major to listen to.

Lucifer wouldn't mind. He found Bomani's stubbornness to be rather endearing, as a matter of fact.
He detached himself from Bomani, snaking an arm around his waist. He took a walked at an easy pace, trying his best not to stagger, but found it quite troublesome. He veered to the left, having remembered a pretzel stand somewhere not too far off.
"No, don't ask me that." He said it in a friendly way, however. "I want to know what's been going on with you."

The staggering didn't bother Bomani one bit. If Lucifer had to move his body one way, Bomani would compensate by leaning also. Their walk to the pretzel stand was patient and it showed old habits died hard. When Bomani felt, probably by imagination, that he thought Luc might trip, his fingers tightened protectively to keep the other upright.
"Ah, I'll tell if you do after." His lips tilted up. "I went home. To Egypt- I saw all my nieces and nephews. I do the body guard job and I settled all money and property at home. I liquidated so that I could move here permanently. I set up my mother and my sister so that I know they will be safe. I told them I have obligations here. To you."

Lucifer was glad Bomani took such precautions; it reassured him to know that he wouldn't fall if he staggered forward a bit too much. He gave a small, contented sigh, the breeze toying with stray pieces of his hair. He watched frisbees zoom overheard and listened to the bark of dogs.
"That sounds nice. I'm glad you got to see them again." He looked up at Bomani's golden gaze.
"That makes me happy," he told him, and his hand drifted from the Egyptians waist to thread in his tanned fingers.

"Aah, me too." He had missed his family. Though, when he was out in the sand, Bomani realized he missed Lucifer more than anything. He'd rather deal with the oddities of Canada (compared to Egypt) any day as long as he had the odd ball carpenter with him.
Bomani squeezed Lucifer's hand gentle. "I am happy too. I am home."
Not that Canada was home, but instead, Lucifer made Canada home for him.
Arcane Blood - June 20, 2007 05:17 AM (GMT)
Lucifer rubbed idle circles on the top of Bomani's hand with his thumb, staying close to him. By this time, he could actually see the pretzel stand, although it was quiet a distance away.
He smiled a soft, loving smile. He was glad that Bomani was home now. More glad than he could ever express, in fact...
He leaned his head on his shoulder while they walked, closing his eyes a brief moment. "I'm glad you're home..."

The Egyptian was in no hurry to rush to the pretzel stand. After all, he had his camel right here. He was sure that the food stand wasn't going to be running off anywhere. That'd just be.. Way too strange and illogical.
Kissing the top of Lucifer's head, Bomani chanced a near-giddy smile. "It's good that you are glad, but now, I want to know." Tanned fingers gently squeezed the ones he clasped in his own, "What have you been doing? You are much healthier than when I left you."
(EEEE. SORRY IT TOOK ME FOREVER)
