Title: Friday night on the town
W.H.D.G - January 4, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
Stephen looked around with a quite but impressed expression.
"It's lovely, Sebastian..."
He turned, hesitating.
"Well.. you see.. with me an' shirts.. I really need to rip the back out.. and I really don't want to do that to one or your shirts.."
As he spoke he was pulling Sebastian's coat off and holding it out, adding,
"Make sure you wash this.. there's probably glittery stuff inside..."
His wings were folding and unfolding lazily as he talked, much like a contented butterfly's.
The Ingenue - December 28, 2003 10:02 AM (GMT)
It was just, another friday night. People flocked to bars and clubs to get utterly smashed and then use the weekend to recover before returning to work or school and the drudgery of weekday life. The music of some local band pumped loudly through the speakers, making everything in the place vibrate slightly with every thump of the bass. The alcohol flowed freely, and there were probably people enjoying something other than alcohol as well.
Sebastian Aliano strutted from his place on the dance floor to the bar. He perched his blue vinyl-clad ass on a stole and ordered a Dark'n'Dirty from the bartender. The boy had gone all out for this little nighttime excursion. He was wearing blue shiny vinyl pants that people swore had to be painted on him, a white fine mesh long shirt that was more see-through than not, and a metallic blue corest over that, pulling his small frame even tighter. His bleach blonde hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, the ends slightly curled, as well as two loose pieces on either side of his face. His make up was done to match his clothes, complete with blue and silver glitter that made him sparkle almost inhumanly.
Sebastian sat at the bar, drinking his drink carefully as not to smudge his perfect lipstick. He was resting up to hit the dance floor again.
Skirr - December 28, 2003 10:15 AM (GMT)
Alona was distraught. Friday night, once again, but she couldn't drink. No. After last week, she wouldn't touch drinks again. Well, at least till the tree grew up some, and had a stronger drinking tolorance. Yes. The tree she had in a pot under her arm. The one she must stick around at all times. The hamadryad's life source. The one the guard at the entrance to the club was questioning her about. She just said it was decoration for the club, and he just stared at her. The bare twig, decoration? He figured she was stoned and let her in. She found an empty booth and put the plant under it, and threw her trenchcoat of the seat. Death said no drinking. So she wouldn't drink. But she had to dance.
She stood on the outside of the dance area, clad in the usual black and green items and green makeup. Hair had green streaks too. Now she was debating on just acting drunk, thrusting herself in there and dancing with anyone, or waiting till a guy came and asked her to dance with him. The girl was quite attractive, as all nymphs are. What she had in looks she lost for in brains. No big deal. Dances were about looks. There was no intelect here.
W.H.D.G - December 28, 2003 10:34 AM (GMT)
Stephen felt ungodly out of place. It was horrible. Simply wretched. Foul... but that girl over there was not all that bad. He liked blonde... ah.. but blue eyes were constant and assumed. Blonde and green eyes... why was he fantasizing over this? This first girl he tried to bring home... one look, one look and she'd never recover.
Speaking the women-slayers, they were awfully cramped.
He had his wings shrunken smaller than he ventured with his bomber jacket, and because the rest of his body remained at his sickeningly thin 6'2", they were complaining. But it had to be so, for his thick bomber jacket had been exchanged for an unbuttoned gray, collared skirt. Not a dull gray, but a pale smoke-colour that had a rather eye-catching trick. Under certain lights the shirt went to blue, then purple in another spot. Then gray again. It was amusing. Beneath it he wore a long-sleeved black shirt, the sleeves sticking out for he had rolled the sleeves to his elbows on his gray. His pants were... tighter than normal, but far from akin to the glove-fit of the guy's next to him (ie. Sebsy). They too were black with a blue sitching dragon on his wallet pocket. His shoes were unpolished black doc marten boots, the tops hidden by his long pants.
He was drinking a bloody mary, and now contemplating shaving his head. His hair, black, washed but unkempt, he was rather fed up with it all. He let his soft emerald eyes wander the dance floor and outer ridge.
Wait a second...
It was that crazy plant girl from the coffee shop. He almost choked on his drink, nearly tipped the celery out.
The Ingenue - December 28, 2003 10:42 AM (GMT)
Sebastian was sipping his drink casually as he looked around for any good 'prospects'. It was just habit, of about any club go-er to search over the crowd for people they'd like to dance with, talk to...bring home.
When the man next to him sputtered, he looked over, just noticing him. 'Hmm...cute enough' his mind said to him. "Hey....slow down mate, you've got all night." he said with a grin and a flash of white teeth behind painted lips. "You alright there doll?" he asked over the music.
Skirr - December 28, 2003 10:50 AM (GMT)
Alona was, of course, asked to dance by some low guy who could get no one else, and then a few other guys who had just noticed her. But she just didn't feel like dancing... She wasn't drunk enough. She wouldn't BE drunk enough for quite some time. Try a few years... With that thought, she looked over at the bar. The beautiful bar with the wonderful and intoxicating drinks... Man. She had to have one... And she couldn't. Sneers to the people there enjoying drinks. One kinda ugly lady with tight vinal clothes and a corset, and an unhumanly thin guy... Ah shit. The guy from the coffee shop. Well, she had best go say hi, noticing how he had seen her too. She did not see the choking on the drink. Lucky her. Up the strairs to the raised bar, and a dreary smile. Must... Not... Have... Drink...
"Hey... Can I get a... A coffee. Black, two sugars."
Then she turned to smile at the other two. The ugly woman turned out to be a man, very painted up and, oooo... Shiney.
W.H.D.G - December 29, 2003 04:49 AM (GMT)
"I-I'm fine."
He muttered, feeling a bit of his drink leaking into his black shirt collar. Stop looking at me.... He whined inside his mind.
"Uh... nice pants."
Perhaps now he would look away. His sparkling skin was getting distracting, and Stephen did not want to stare.
He saw the crazy girl smile and weakly forced his own lips to turn up. Very forced. Everyone was looking at him.
His wings were complaining again, throbbing against his back. he wished they wound stop entirely. He never had liked them.
The Ingenue - December 29, 2003 05:05 AM (GMT)
Sebastian smiled at the man. "Go to know. Though...you are cute enough to have risk chance of smudging my lipstick if I had to give you mouth to mouth." he said with a wink. Sebastian wasn't much for being subtle.
"Oh...why thank you. Though...I don't know why I never learn. These things are damn hot to wear in clubs like this." Seb nattered on, making bar small-talk.
He noticed the girl and smiled back, adding in a rather feminine wave, his fingernails painted in a metallic blue to match the rest of his outfit.
Skirr - December 29, 2003 06:46 AM (GMT)
Alona wasn't staring at Stephen anymore. No no no... Glitter boy was much more fun to stare at. The girl cast her pretty green eyes up and down the man two or three times, a smile growing more each time. No one ever told her not to stare. She had only been 'here' two weeks. Here being alive. She was particularly enjoying looking at the glitter. She couldn't help but feel inclinder to ask where he got... Everything. Looked fun.
"Oooo... Do you know if they have that glitter in green? And the pants... Those are spiffy too. But really... The glitter. Looks nice."
Eyes still staring. Tuning out poor Stephen for a moment too, then having to reach for the coffee, which brings him back into the viewpoint. She didn't want to be rude, so she made up something about him that looked nice too. Ahh, the shirt. Oooo... It was glowy. Glitter Boy there, Glow Boy here.
"Ummm... Nice shirt?"
Freaky Plant Girl here.
W.H.D.G - December 29, 2003 08:55 AM (GMT)
"Uh... thanks."
He smelled like a bloody mary. When he choked, some had spilt from his cup onto his black collar. He sighed, finishing the drink and setting it on the bar counter top.
Seby's comment caught him very off-guard and he nearly re-choked. On the air. He felt his wings give an involuntary beat and prayed it did not look like something was crawling out of his back. Wasn't that a seen from Alien? No... that was chest. In any event...
"Well, for ther sake of your lipstick, I'm glad I recovered."
He tried to sound joking, although Stephen was really at a loss for what to say. He ran a hand across his looser trousers.
"I don't really like ungodly-tight stuff. But, if you have the build, take advantage."
He felt ungodly-tight would really make him look like he had an eating disorder. Which was untrue.
The Ingenue - December 29, 2003 09:14 AM (GMT)
"Glitter, ah, it comes in every color you can think of. And some you wouldn't. I should know...I have a king's ransom in it at home." Sebastian chuckled ordering another double rum and coke from the bartender. "Thanks for the compliment though...some people aren't always fond of the way I dress." he shrugged.
Sebastian chuckled at Stephan's comment. "Too each their own, I say." he said, raising his glass and taking a sip. "Either...show if off now, or save it for later." he said with a wink to both of them.
"I'm Sebastian by the way. Just call me Seb."
Skirr - December 30, 2003 01:50 AM (GMT)
Alona was in the mood to please. Good coffee, for a bar, anyway. Nice dose of caffine. Ooo... Caffine. She Rolled her eyes at his statement. People not like the way he dresses? Screw them. Yes, say it.
"Screw them! Dress however you want! Everyone does."
Not to forget her. Her and her green and black fettish. She looked over at the fairy boy, and eyed him again. Yes, eyeing, which could be considered staring, or sizing him up. She sighed, and sipped her coffee.
"Nice to meet you Seb. I am Alona."
She smiled, making her already pretty appearance more beautiful, if possible. The nymphs had to have something to distract people from hurting their precious something. Beauty was the easiest lure.
W.H.D.G - December 30, 2003 02:12 AM (GMT)
Stephen did not ask for another drink. He was not heavy into the stuff, perhaps he went for light buzzes but he could not recall any times when he had been truly drunk.
He took to watching Sebastian for amusement, wondering vaguely if he was a homosexual or just smashed. Oh well...
"I'm Stephen."
He replied, turning his attention hesitantly to the tree girl... oh.. Alona.
"Alona.."
He nodded to recogize her and leaning back carefully against the bar, ignoring the pinching sensation.
"Yeah, if you dress to please chances are you aren't comfortable and how are you supposed to enjoy anything not comfortable?"
The Ingenue - December 30, 2003 02:28 AM (GMT)
"A pleasure to two lovely creatures such as yourselves." Sebastian said with a sly grin.
"Yes, though, sometimes giving up a little comfort for fashion is fun too." Sebastian said, gesturing to his corset, which couldn't have been the most comfortable thing either. But he loved the way it looked, so he still wore it.
Sebastian looked into his nearly full glass for a minute. Finally, he slammed the whole thing back in one go and looked to his neighbours. "Well, I'm done resting. Care to join me on the dance floor?" he asked. Without waiting for a response he hopped off his stool and sauntered back towards the dance floor. His platform boots standing him a bit taller than most...and of course with the glitter, no one could loose sight of him.
Skirr - December 30, 2003 02:59 AM (GMT)
Alona let her smile widen a bit, and her face flush. She had been called lovely before, so this wasn't new, but it still made her feel good all the same. Feel good a way no corset could, pretty or not. God that thing looked tight. How could he BREATH in it, let alone DANCE? Well, she had come here to dance, since drinking was out of the question, and nodded.
"I'm game."
She downed her coffee, hot as it was, much like he downed his drink, and started to follow him to the dancefloor, then stopped. The other guy, Stephen, yes, that was his name... Where was he? She turned around to see him still leaning on the counter and making no move to come join them. Now this would not do. With an exasperated sigh, she walked back up the stairs and grabbed him by the wrist, dragging him down towards the dancefloor, where she met up with Glitter Boy again. Yet she made no move to start dancing, but, instead, whacked a guy across the face when she heard snickering related to Sebsy. THAT most definatly would not do. The guy she hit looked taken aback, and said nothing. No one argues with the pretty girl. No one could. She would likely not understand.
W.H.D.G - December 30, 2003 07:00 AM (GMT)
Stephen nodded a little.
"Well.. that's a choice you made by yourself for yourself, so I guess it doesn't count."
He watched Sebsy trot off, not a dancer. He did not know how to dance, and even should he, someone might hit him and find his wings. Far too risky. He would just watch. Maybe even leave.
Until he was grabbed. Moved. Abducted, more or less. He squeaked in protest. Ont he dance floor, he felt naked. As such, he went stock still, stopping all movement. He watched Alona's little swinging flare, and decided he was abducted by a violent, grazy, tree girl and needed to escape at the first chance.
The Ingenue - December 30, 2003 07:11 AM (GMT)
Sebastian was already tearing up the dance floor, catching attention from men and women alike with the quite wonderful things he did with his hips. The boy had probably been clubbing long before he was legal drinking age. A bit of make-up and dressed the right way and anyone could look nineteen. And a fake ID was also a big help. There were times bouncers had let him in just for the effort the boy had to have put into his appearance for the night.
Sebastian swatted off an pair of grabby hands more interested in his two new companions than the casual groping of a, not-cute-enough stranger. He didn't catch the slap Alona had given, but he did notice Stephen's awkwardness. "Just give it a try. Dancing isn't too hard. All in the hips. Come on." he shouted over the music, trying to get Stephen to move atleast remotely to the beat. He firmly grabbed Stephen's hips and tried to get him to sway to the beat, giving him a feel for the music.
Skirr - December 30, 2003 07:40 AM (GMT)
Alona watched Sebsy in an amused manner. She was about to start dancing with him rather than watching him by everyone else, but no... He went for wall flower Stephen instead. Oh well, there were enough other people here to grab and dance with. Or, she could have fun dancing alone. She had hips. She knew how to swing them. Two weeks here, and she had picked it up relativly fast for a fluffy brain. Clubbing every night, all night, might do that for you.
One pair of hands grabbed her sides, and she turned to see none other than the guy she slapped. Whatever... If he was game, so was she.A new song was playing now... What the 'young things' would suggest to a DJ. 'Hey Ya' by some guy with a funny voice. Good beat, funny lyrics. Good dance stuff. None of that crap midway stuff. The stuff that is slow with a good beat under it? That stuff was crap. The speakers boomed.
"Shake it! Sha-sha-sha-Shake it! Sha-sha-sha-Shake it like a poloroid picture! Sha-sha-sha-Shake it!..."
And she did. And Sebsy did. And is Stephen would loosen up he could too.
W.H.D.G - December 30, 2003 08:25 AM (GMT)
The girl could dance... so could the guy in red... the music was really loud.. and what was that!
He looked down to find painted-nail hands on his hips. Hands that belonged to Sebsy. He had not heard the dancing instructions He went a little stiffer, if that was possible, his eyes flashing toward the exit.
"I-I really don't know how to dance... I don't know how to move my hips..."
He felt not only naked but now naked in front of every girl he'd ever had an infatuation with.
The Ingenue - December 30, 2003 08:38 AM (GMT)
"Just...move with my hands." Sebastian said. He slowly began to coax Stephen's hips into a gently. "Just move like everyone else. Dancing is just mimickery. " he instructed over the music. He took his opportunity to press nice and close to Stephen. For the benefit of the lessons of course.
Sebastian kept a lock on Alone in the corner of his eye, almost jealous for the man she was dancing with. But he did have Stephen at the moment. That was enough to keep the blonde happy. However, this didn't stop him from sending the occaisonally sly grin and wink in her direction.
Skirr - December 31, 2003 03:04 AM (GMT)
Alona grew tired of Mister Man behind her, and pushed herself away from him, to stand alone, watching Sebsy shake Stephen. She laughed. It was encredibly funny how they looked. Stephen looking ready to bolt or fly or explode, Sebsy looking seriously pleased with himself. She walked up behind Stephen and trailed her fingers across his shoulders, wrapping her head up to rest on his shoulder. She whispered in his ear.
"You are too tense, you know..."
She giggled softly, and pulled herself away, to watch Sebsy and Stephen some more.
W.H.D.G - December 31, 2003 04:23 AM (GMT)
Stephen thought he was drowning. Everything seemed too loud, his back was stiff, his knees somewhat locked. He watched Sebastian move his hips with a blank stare, gulping as the other man's shine-covered body was pressed against his.
"I-I really.. have no head for these things... M-Maybe I should just go.. get us some drinks.. or something..."
Please, oh dear god, please.
Stephen came very close to freaking as he felt something on hsi shoulders. Too close to the wings, too close to the wings... He spun and nearly crushed Sebsy's foot, throwing Alona off as he tried to see her.
"Y-You.. I... oh..."
He whimpered, trying to figure himself out, his wings shivering.
The Ingenue - December 31, 2003 04:38 AM (GMT)
Sebastian watched Alona with a grin, she was an amazing creature and he wanted to get to know her better. However, he was on a mission now. He had to get Stephen loosened up and having fun. Perhaps she would be a good help for such a difficult task. He would have to ask her.
He dodged out of the way quickly when Stephen moved away. "But you were doing so well!" Sebastian said, touching Stephen's arm. "How about I make you a deal. -I- will treat you too a few drinks, but you have to try this dancing thing again after." he said, turning Stephen towards the bar. He made a few hand gestures, inviting Alona to join them, his treat. Sebastian then turned to guide Stephen to the bar, but not before a sneaky hand drifted down for a rather obvious grope of Stephen's backside.
Skirr - December 31, 2003 04:44 AM (GMT)
Alona was a bit thrown off, literally and figurativly, by Stephens behavior. Why come to a club if you weren't gonna dance. She shrugged it off, which also was used to brush off a pair of unwanted hands. She was rather more interested in following Stephen and Sebsy to the bar. Great time to cut back the drinking... Right when people will treat you... She locked an arm with Sebsy, and smiled up at him. Least he knew how to have a good time. Poor Stephen.
"I won't be having anything to drink. Can't poison the tree, and all..."
There goes he fluff brain. She had no idea wether or not either of them were Innish or Unnish, and she talks about her tree. Right there. Oi vey... Lucky for her, if they were Unnish, they'd just think she was crazy. That always works.
W.H.D.G - December 31, 2003 05:25 AM (GMT)
The hands were gone from his hips. A small rejoice. The hand was on his arm. A little shiver. He followed it before meeting eyes with Sebsy. Being moved as he tried to formulate a response.
"Oh-oh... Okay.."
He mumbled. Perhaps he could get off with just shaking his butt once or twice and bolting. He was being treated, after all...
A bomb went off in Stephen's brain.
This was not right, this was not right, thiswasnotright. He felt his entier body jerk forward away from the grabbing hand, his mind flickered off of all else for a moment. Gone. In the blankness, a spell shut off.
The ncie "sproing" sound effect might have been comical to accompany his ears. Which had changed, not for the setting it was not a positive shift. Instead of being normal sized and rounded, they were now pointed and stuck out from his hair, somewhat angled backward. Stephen knew his glamour was gone. He felt a the very subtle change all throughout his body. He wings were shot with a short pain. They longed to unfurl and join in his ears in feminine majesty.
Not while Stephen was still alert and panicking.
The Ingenue - December 31, 2003 05:48 AM (GMT)
Sebastian was about to respond to Alona when he suddenly noticed Stephen jerk forward. His keen eyes caught the ears. "Shit..." he cursed and grabbed Stephen's arm and pulled him outside in a hurry. He hoped Alona would follow.
Once they hit the cool night air he launched into apologies. "I am soooo sorry! I....I just get carried...I shouldn't have. I'm reeeeally sorry!" Sebastian stammered, looking like he was about to risk running mascara by crying. He had put Stephen in a lot of danger. Faded was a mostly Unnish club...anything worse and there could have been panic.
Skirr - December 31, 2003 06:02 AM (GMT)
Alona felt unloved as the two of them rushed outside, but a backward glance from Sebsy let her feel that she might be wanted still. Either way, she wanted to leave. She went over to her booth, put on the trench coat and picked the potted plant, leaving the club to follow the other two.
They weren't far out, and, once outside, Alona saw exactly why they rushed out. Glamours. A elf, most likely. That or a fairy. But then again, this was a boy... Likely not a fairy. She walked over to stand next to Sebsy, knowing Stephen probally hated her to some extent. She looked up at his ears, and then too the hint that Sebsy was probally innish too, not flipping out and all. She craddled the pot in her arms, and smiled lightly. Interesting night.
"Let's go... Somewhere else."
W.H.D.G - December 31, 2003 06:26 AM (GMT)
Stephen felt sick. There was a droning in those oh-so pointy ears. A painful feeling of dread filling his stomach. He knew what he'd done, and he knew that Faded was the worst of places. Who knows how many had see him?
He let Sebastian drag him like a limp rag doll. Everything blasted a few volumes louder now, including Sebastian's fervent apologies. He tried to mouth a forgiveness, but he couldn't.
"Sss... Sss.. "
He was trying to "s'okay", but his vocal cords were no longer functioning. His wings were beginning to ache horribly. They could take no more. He whimpered and groaned. His poor, gaunt body had taken enough.
He ran from Sebastian and Alona, only into the alley where Faded's dumpster was. He collapsed with his chest against the cold brick wall somewhere near a pile of old peanut shells. There was a soft but sickening ripping sound as his wings tore free at last.
They were stronger, the tatters of his shirt falling back like some twisted rejected vest. His wing were out, growing rapidly to their full span, fluttering like a hummingbird's for a moment, working out their kinks and strains.
Really, they were quite beautiful, even in the low light. Their sweeping points and curves made them unique to his body and their colours made them glimmer and shine. Oh how he hated them...
The Ingenue - December 31, 2003 06:35 AM (GMT)
Sebastian blinked at Stephen took off. "Let's go after him." he said to Alona looking worried. "Oh...I feel just rotten for getting carried away..." he mumbled trotting down the alley.
Sebastian boots clicked in a slow trot down the alleyway, echoing off the dark walls. "Stephen...Stephen are you alright?" he called. He stopped dead when he saw the wings. He stood there a moment. "W-wow...." he breathed.
Skirr - December 31, 2003 09:04 AM (GMT)
Alona nodded, and skipped after Sebastian. Yes, skipped. The girl has issues. She, unlike him, felt no grief for scaring him in the club. Why couldn't he understand they just wanted him a good time? She skipped all the way into the ally, and smiled when she saw his wings. Pretty wings. She breathed the same word out, with more of a smile and less of a shocked look. She thought they looked quite nice.
"Wow... Very pretty, Stephen. Too bad you tore your nice shirt..."
She didn't look sad at all. She was still rather oogled by his wings.
W.H.D.G - December 31, 2003 08:50 PM (GMT)
There were people staring at him. Stephen felt their eyes like highbeams tearing into his sides.
"D-Don't.. don't look at them."
He ordered sharply, trying to stumble further back into the shadows and hide his female attributes.
"Just.. just dont."
It was a very weak order. He grunted about the shirt, tearing the rest away so he was in all black.
The Ingenue - December 31, 2003 10:15 PM (GMT)
Sebastian took a step forward. "I um....one sec...." he said, running back out of the alley and into the club. He retrieved his jacket from the coat check and hurried back outside.
He stammered a few more apologies. "Look...atleast...just put this one...it's deathly cold and damp back here." Sebastian said holding out the long leather jacket and taking a few cautious steps foreward.
Skirr - December 31, 2003 11:10 PM (GMT)
Alona wasn't used to taking orders. She actually got angry at the request of it. She spoke softly, but there was a sharp edge in her voice. Her eyes were still gleaming with curiousity.
"Why not look at them? I haven't met anyone with wings before... They are really pretty. And anyway, what'll you do to stop me from looking at them? They are right there..."
Sebsy came back before she could get really angry, and she sighed. She put down the pot of her tree, and wrapped her trenchcoat around her more. Sebsy was right: It was very cold.
W.H.D.G - January 1, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
"Because I hate them."
He snapped at Alona with vehemence. His wings fluttered to reflect his anger and this just made the sting of their presence sharper.
"I hate them and I wish they were gone."
If he had the mobility, he might have tried to rip them off there. He fixed Seb in his gaze, saying in a slower voice.
"You need it just as much as I do...You put it on."
His tone was not snubbing or harsh.
The Ingenue - January 1, 2004 04:35 AM (GMT)
Sebastian held he jacket out. "No...I'm fine. I drank too much to feel the cold." he insisted, stepping closer.
Sebastian looked at Stephen's wings without staring. "How can you hate something so beautiful? Beauty....should be cherished and held, not hidden away and dispised." he said, sounding confused. He didn't understand Stephen's hate of his wings.
Skirr - January 2, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Alona blinked. Hated them? How could he HATE wings? She had always wanted wings. She had prefered fairies over hamadryads anyway. More free and just as beautiful with magic. She had no magic, if you discounted the tree factor. And even if all she had was the ability to cast glamours, that would have been enough to keep her happy. And those wings...
"How can you..."
Sebsy had the same idea going, so she just let her words fall out into nothingness. She sighed and walked up next to Stephen and patted his back lightly, avoiding the wings. She knew he would probally snap away from her, but she didn't care. It made her feel like she was doing something to comfort him.
W.H.D.G - January 2, 2004 01:14 AM (GMT)
"Just because you can't feel the cold just mean you aren't getting sick."
He replied. His face fell as he realized they wanted to go back to the talk of his wings. He sighed, fluttering them a few times and tugging on the tip of his left ear for a moment.
"You can't even begin to understand the attack on your masculinity for having wings. And.. and I can't do anything. Like play sports.. or dance... or anything... because people can't see my wings. I had almost no friends as a kid... I still don't.
He looked at Alona a little mournfully , not bothering to shrug her away. His wings moved, however, and brushed her arm gently. The area where the wing touched was left with a sweet smelling shine that did look a little like glitter.
"Oh.. I'm sorry... Hey, Shout takes it right out, I promise..."
He ran his fingers through his hair.
The Ingenue - January 2, 2004 01:31 AM (GMT)
Sebastian continued to hold out the cold. "I insist, I'm not very sensitive to the cold, please." he said, his look a little pleading. He was worried for Stephen.
"I know what it's like to have one's masculinity challenged....attacked. I could...hide what I am. Easily...so I suppose it's not really the same thing. But...I wouldn't be me without make-up. And you wouldn't be you without wings. " Sebastian said, trying to comfort Stephen. "Well, we want to be your friends. So, you must me doing something right." Sebastian said offering a friendly smiled.
"Look...let's get out of this cold alley. My appartment isn't far from here...."
Skirr - January 2, 2004 01:58 AM (GMT)
Alona reluctantly removed her arm, and looked at the shine left on her coat. And smiled. She sniffed it, liking the sweet smell, and smiled back up at Stephen.
"Shout... Whatever."
Bigger grin, until the talk moved to the masculinality of it all. She sighed, and listened to them speak their points. Being a girl wasn't all that bad... Well, it WAS but it wasn't. You don't get hit, everyone thinks they can take care of you, help you out, oogle over you... Or was that just her.
"Being 'feminine' isn't so bad. Some girls really love the sensitive type, and all. And there are nice guys just like their are bullies. You just gotta know which is which."
Unfortunatly, she was too stupid to realize that she herself had no idea how to accomplish this. Most the guys were 'nice guy', aka, would do anything to get her in their pants. And she was a virgin, still. Suprise suprise.
At the talk of the appartment, she left Stephens side to go stand next to Sebsy. Warm appartment sounded good. She was cold, and this was odd because she was wrapped in layers and layers. Her tree was bare, and they didn't make tree sweaters.
"I am game... Let's go... Stephen, you should come too... Least till you can slip back to your home with your wings unnoticed. I'm sure Sebsy has a coat you can borrow."
She spoke softly, urging him, in a sense, to follow.

Stephen's flickered between them uncertainly. He bit his lip and sighed weakly.
"Fine.. I'll go to your apartment."
He would admit nothing else, say nothing else, folding his wings as tightly as they would go and taking Seb's coat. he throat it loosely across his shoulders and closes his eyes. The air seems to flicker around him, and in an instant his ears reappeared small and round.
"Let's go..."
He mumbled, his back a little hunched, both hands on the edges of the coat.
