Title: Kids These Days
Description: malls suck, so does fainting

She was frowning.
As her fingers moved over the different articles of clothing that littered the racks, her lips, which had the slightest hint of red lipstick on them, were pulled unattractively downward. Savanna let out a large sigh and stopped touching the clothes, pulling her fingers instead through her hair. Screw this store. In a huff, she marched out. There was nothing interesting in there anyway. Although they had had some cute, large earrings hanging in the back. No, she'd officially shunned that store and she was not going back in.
And that's final.
There wasn't a lot she could do to stop the second sigh from escaping her, except hold it in maybe. But of course, she didn't. This second sigh lead to a yawn, and she stretched her mouth once again unattractively, putting her hand in front of it. Why was she yawning? She wasn't the least bit tired. Infact she'd slept a grand total of fifteen hours the night before, waking in her bed at three in the afternoon. Ah the beauty of being irresponsible.
Or maybe she was tired. She took a seat at one of the tables in the food court, fanning her self with her hand. Did it have to be so hot in here? Taking a quick glance around, she suddenly really wanted water. Oh God, really hot, extremely thirsty? Please don't faint again, please don't faint again.
She collapsed on the floor.
Dammit.

Tony had been perusing his purchases at a nearby table. A large, empty coffee cup and a chocolate-covered wrapper littered the table surface. Unbeknownst to the man, a single white sprinkle had imbedded itself into his otherwise imposing mustache.
He watched the girl collapse with a certain amount of astonishment. He reacted almost immediately, grabbing his purchases and barging his way through the crowd that had gathered. One woman was screaming as though she was being murdered. With a certain amount of indignance he realized that no one was letting him get through, despite his size and impressive breadth.
"Step aside!" He roared as only a seasoned police officer could, flashing his badge unnecessarily at the crowd. They parted for him, eager as the Red Sea and he surged forward, dropping his bags onto the ground so that he could kneel beside the unconscious girl. Some skimpy women's lingerie spilled out of one of his shopping bags.
"Somebody get her some water!" Tony commanded, pointing at a woman who shrieked and ran to obey this officious command. He looked down at the girl and slapped one of her cheeks gently, leaning over her to listen to see if she was still breathing.
The woman returned with the water. The off-duty policeman spilled some carefully onto a napkin and held it to the girl's forehead. "Wake up, you're going to be fine," Tony told the girl who had fainted, his voice unusually gentle.
She would be fine, certainly, if she revived. If she didn't wake up, she was going to have the shock of her life when all 250 jiggling pounds of him gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Savanna scrunched up her nose, running her slender fingers through her hair. She did this with her eyes still shut. She was too afraid, to embarrassed, to open her eyes and see the crowd of people that had obviously gathered around her when she fainted. It would be just her luck if the man who was slapping her face turned out to be some extremely good looking guy who would laugh about this with his friends later on.
Pulling her face back to normal, she finally slid open those green eyes to meet the man's. She had to admit, she wasn't dissapointed that he was not only old but overweight. A young, hot guy would simply send her into fits of embarrassment. She couldn't imagine how red her cheeks were already, what with all these people watching her.
She groaned and heaved herself onto her feet, a little unsteady. With an smile, finally an attractive facial expression, she touched the man's shoulder gingerly. "Thanks. I'm fine." Although it was obvious she was not fine, what with her hand tightly grasping her stomach. Ow. There were sharp pains running through it. Didn't she know there were consequences to not eating?
"Show's over, people." She waved her free hand at the crowd, almost falling back into her seat. She tried to hide the pained expression on her face, but failed miserably and just sat there waiting for it to subside.

"You sure don't look fine," Tony replied with a skeptical smirk, stating the obvious because he was an asshole and dammit, he was going to do this thoroughly. He attempted to help lead to her a chair, scowling at the crowd until it reluctantly dispersed. He placed the bottle of water in front of this skinny young girl and stood in front of her, hands on his hips.
Though he was off-duty and not wearing his police uniform, a Police Academy shirt was stretched tight across his large chest. A pair of wrap-around sunglasses dangled from a string around his neck and he wore a baseball cap indoors to disguise the tragic state of what remained of his hair. The smudge of chocolate icing from a doughnut still remained determinedly on his upper lip.
"Now, young lady, I am an officer of the law. I'm afraid that I will have to write up this incident for mall security. We should contact the EMS, as well, just to make sure that you're okay." The older man seemed to be enjoying this, his chest swelling with pride at the opportunity to act as a police officer even though he wasn't on the beat. He was restoring order to the Westplace Mall, and that was a reward in itself.
As an after-thought he gathered up his bags, shoving the scandalous nighty into the depths of a Victoria's Secret bag. He whipped out a pad and began writing furiously, muttering to himself every so often.
"May I see your driver's license, or a form of photo identification?" Only Tony would be a big enough jerk to not let the poor girl go get something to eat.

"I am fine." Her voice was dripping with annoyance as she let go of her stomach, despite the fact that it still hurt, to show him that she was alright. Holding back a cringe, she took a sip of the coffee that she'd left sitting on her table. Coffee, plus an empty stomach, can't be good for you. Savanna felt the urge to gag, but held it back, sitting the cup back down on the table.
She half stood up so she could pull up her cargo pants, which bagged a little on her too skinny hips, then sat back down, watching him pull out his pad. Her eyes got a little wider. Was he going to write her a ticket? For fainting?
Shaking her head, she stood up again, this time all the way, taking her coffee in hand. "There's really no need for the whole EMS thing. I really am fine, I just...have a stomach cramp. It's terribly hot in here, that's probably what made me faint."
Despite her explaining, he asked for her license. With an annoyed sigh, she took her seat again, digging in her purse. From it she retrieved her wallet, and from that her drivers license. Holding it in her fragile fingers, she held it out to him. "Why do you need it? I didn't do anything wrong."

A quick, hard look told Tony that the girl was not fine. She held her stomach, fighting back a cringe - even a man without his naturally nosy intelligence would deduce that something was wrong. She looked hungry. Was she homeless, or was this one of those idiotic dieting fads that the high schoolers of Bayfield seemed to follow without thought for their health?
He snorted in derision, looking at her absurdly skinny body. Disgusting. Still, kids would be kids.
"A stomach cramp, huh? It looks to me like you need a sandwich. When was the last time you ate?" He appeared perfectly comfortable stepping from the role of off-duty police officer into the position of an impromptu EMT. In fact, he wouldn't understand if she protested that he was not qualified to make such a deduction.
He continued to scribble furiously onto his note pad, copying the information from her driver's license onto the piece of paper. He smiled patronizingly at her question and chuckled obnoxiously.
"The only thing you've done wrong is that you haven't been taking care of yourself! I need to copy down your information, as I just said, for the mall security staff. Now, tell me, are you planning on suing the mall for any reason?" Was he even allowed to be asking these questions? Tony seemed to think that it was well within the boundaries of his position.

A sneer appeared on her face and she pushed some purple hair out of her eyes, leaning back in her chair to appear more comfortable. Or perhaps to look annoyed. She folded her arms over her chest and looked at him like he had horns growing out his nostrils. Big, devil horns. This thought popped into her head and she accidentally let out a giggle she'd meant to keep in.
Clearing her throat, she popped a piece of gum into her mouth, pulling her face back into that sneer. "I eat all the time, thankyouverymuch. Besides, it's none of your B-I-business when the last time I ate was. Cop or not." It was common knowledge that Savanna hated cops. A lot. "I have a stomach cramp, that's it."
True, she did have a stomach cramp. But it wasn't a simple problem that could be fixed my chugging some Pepto Bismal.
The only thing that could fix it was food.
And Savanna hated food.
"Blah, blah, blah. Story of my life." She mumbled, chewing her gum furiously. "Why the hell would I sue the mall?"
ooc;; ick. this one's poo.
