Title: Rules For Gods And Goddesses
Description: A must-read for deity players.

1. Your deity character must always have an identifying mark of some kind-- a godmark. It can be a very strange eye-colour, a tattoo in some reasonably visible place, an extra set of arms that have to be kept hidden-- whatever fits your character. This mark must be present no matter what form they take (so make it flexible). Anyone who knows the mark will likely be able to recognise your Deity.

2. Other rules still apply to you, as a Deity. Obviously, you're allowed quite a lot more power than you would usually have as a normal character, but you still aren't all-powerful. You can't play other people's characters-- all those rules still apply to you. If you're going to do something big, like curse a character, get the player's permission, first. And, players: curses can be fun, don't always balk.

In general, a deity character is meant to further the communal plot, so keep that in mind.

3. If someone performs your Calling spell correctly, you have to come. Calling spells are material-based spells that call a deity to appear in a certain spot. Calling spells are different for each deity. Uninitiates can perform Callings, if they happen to find out how to work the spell and feel like trying.

4. Deities MUST be kept active. If a deity position is not kept active, the position may be taken away from you.

How to become a Deity:

If you would like to fill a Deity position, please PM me with the following information:

-The name you plan on giving your Deity character.

-Which Deity they would be (out of available positions) and which gender they would be. (This includes a minor deity position you're making up.)

-Why you think you’re qualified to play this character.

-What sort of personality you imagine this Deity would have.

-Any interesting qualities, characteristics or quirks of appearance you imagine this Deity would have.

-Why you want to play this character.

You do not have to send me the character sheet for this character until I ask for it.

Note: becoming a deity has nothing to do with how many post you have. It's a position based purely in plot.

Deity positions are hard to get. Please feel free to apply, but don't be too surprised if we decline your application. Acceptance is based on a set of complex factors that are intentionally hard to meet (in order to keep Bayfield from being over-run with gods).
