Title: Over-priced life.
Description: For Sammeh

Kaylee - February 17, 2006 09:59 PM (GMT)
Over-priced coffee.

Over-priced sweets.

Over-priced everything.

What a rip off.

But everyone comes here anyways.

Everyone, including persons like Jibril. He was currently leaning against the counter, waiting for his turn. Valentine-themed hair let loose, curls falling around his lovely, scar-decorated face. His eyes are half-closed and he has an aura of sepreme power. Seriously. He's in a decent mood for once. Talked to Logan, got tons of chocolate, and got plenty of sleep.

He's in a good mood.

He's dressed like any teenaged rebel. Wife beater, tight and white on his lithe torso, big baggy black pants, with chains and the whole package. They are partly tucked into his huge, thick, steel-toed boots, which happen to be loosely tied - on purpose of course.

Quite a few people are staring at him. He doesn't care. Tattoos on back partly seen, Logan tattoo easilly seen. But the tattoo with his own name on it is most easilly seen. He doesn't care if people know his name, or think that he might know whoever Jibril Alphonse Digger is.

'Cause he has that 'I don't give a shit' attitude. It comes with the outside, mask package.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
It's probably not the same Logan. It's a common name, isn't it? I mean, it's not as if there can't be two or three or a dozen of them running around the city. And tattoos are permanent. The kid could easily have gotten it in some other city, some other place.

It's not the same Logan. Alexander can't imagine anyone caring enough for that boy to tattoo his name on their arm. That would be insane. The boy--the fiend--was completely unloveable.

... wait.

Jibril.

That was the name Benjamin had mentioned...

It is the same Logan.

Alexander is seated at a table, a couple stacks of papers in front of him, one marked up with red and one clean and fresh and about to be marked up with red. He's grading the second papers of the semester, you see.

He's wearing a black turtleneck and jeans, and appears to be completely focused on his work. He's not staring at Jibril.

... honest.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
It's not the staring that caught the angel's attention. It was the aura.

He had just given his order when he felt it.

Powerful, very powerful, naturally not as powerful as he was in many ways, do to his age, but it certainly was powerful. Probably the most powerful has has felt in a long while.

Then he feels the one stare in particular. Head turns to look at the other, eyes more or less closed. Slowly though, the brilliant, glowing green eyes opened and fixed on him.

These eyes weren't like any other eyes here.

They were literally molten green, no visible pupil, only emerald green with twinkling pink and yellow stars in them. A small smirk, pale face face amused. The question was obvious.

Didn't your mother teach you not to stare?

SammieK - February 18, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
Alexander's dark, angry eyes meet Jibril's without a hint of embarrassment or of shame. He blinks once, recognizing that the creature is far older than he and possibly far more powerful.

... given that he's going up against the oldest god, I don't think he's impressed.

He lifts an eyebrow.

Yes?

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
Of course not. Death is by far, the oldest and most powerful being, in Jibril's case. Or Nafi's, in this case.

Anger?

His eyebrow raises in amusement, even a quiet snort as he collects his drink from the cashier, not even breaking eye contact. His smirk wasn't broken, even as he takes a sip of the black coffee.

He took one step forward, chains jingling, then another, and then he was sauntering across the cafe, looking directly at Alex. He stopped as he stood before him, no more or less than five feet away. Another sip of the black coffee.

"What makes you so angry as you continue to stare at me?"

Another sip. Smooth voice, deep, very, very low. He's a charmer. Too bad Alex doesn't like him. He might've been able to charm the older man. If that was ever possible. Probably not, but who cares?

Nafi's amused.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
"I find your taste in friends revolting."

Alexander isn't one for subtlety today.

Anyway, he was asked a direct question, wasn't he? So there.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 03:22 AM (GMT)
That's good.

The angel hates beating around the bush.

He only smiled...except it wasn't quite so a smile as it was a feral grin. You could see his pointed canines. Its not like he was showing them off, but he couldn't really hide them.

"Ah. I see the young Master has another enemy, does he?"

Master with a capital M. Logan is very important to him. Why is he not surprised he's found yet another Logan hater.

"Perhaps you know the young man who attempted to attack him, in the park, then?"

He had wanted to kill the kid actually, tryin to pull a stunt like that.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 03:25 AM (GMT)
"That would be my son."

Yes, Jibril, you have found another enemy of Logan's. This is the one that hurt him so badly, before you found him. This is the one who would have killed him, save that it might have upset that son to know that his adoptive father was capable of killing in cold blood.

This is the one who might kill him yet, if Logan harms Keye again.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
Of course this time, Logan didn't do anything to Keye. Keye was the one tried to hurt him.

"I see."

Another sip of his coffee, then a sigh.

"I'm sure you're capable of telling him that such an act is unnacceptable. Especially since he's a child."

Oooh. And he's fully aware of what Logan used to do. But Logan doesn't do that anymore. Instead, he's starving himself. Kill or kill yourself slowly but steadilly. That is how both of their loves are. And both are heading down the self-destructive path.

"It is simply unacceptable."

SammieK - February 18, 2006 03:40 AM (GMT)
"Oh, I find it quite acceptable."

Smile.

"What I find unnacceptable was your 'master's' treatment of my son. Seeking revenge is a natural human reaction."

For a given value of natural.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
"Oh, I find it quite acceptable."

Smile.

"What I find unnacceptable was your 'master's' treatment of my son. Seeking revenge is a natural human reaction."

For a given value of natural.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
"I have no doubt that any father would."

His own smile.

"But of course, revenge was already served. It was how I found him after all. You did quite the job, didn't take long to heal though."

It doesn't take a genius to figure Alex broke Logan.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
"He doesn't know that, you see."

And Alexander isn't going to tell him.

It would frighten the lad.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 04:11 AM (GMT)
"Ah..."

Smile.

"Then I shall be sure to tell him if I ever run into him again. After all..."

Sip.

"Can't have him attacking Logan again. Or at least trying to."

He should teach Logan it's alright to hurt people who are trying to hurt you.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
"I think not."

Alexander is tensing. And running over spells in his mind, and examining the other person, and trying to decide if it's worth getting into a magical battle royale here in the coffee shop just to keep his secrets.

He's fanatical, he decides, but not quite that fanatical.

"As you will not be seeing him again, however, it is moot."

Alexander will see to that.

Kaylee - February 18, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
He noticed the tensing.

It only amuses him. Being who he is, he's been threatened by far worse things. Believe me, there are far worse things than Alexander. With sharper teeth and bigger claws
.

"Seriously now? One can accomplish that?"

He is amused.

SammieK - February 18, 2006 04:59 AM (GMT)
Were those things with bigger claws as completely insane as Alexander is?

"It cannot be too hard to keep him away from you."

Just set a subtle spell on Jibril that will make Keye want to go in another direction as soon as the lad comes anywhere near the angel. Or angelic being. Whatever.

He murmurs a few words.

Kaylee - February 19, 2006 10:28 PM (GMT)
Well. Insane? Yes. Just as insane? Yes. Even more insane? Yes. Insane in the same way? Most likely not.

"I don't doubt that."

Angel. Definetly angel. Winged-humanoid is techincally the best name. But people associate humanoids with feathered wings with angels. So you could call him an angel. It's just a human-given name.

He recognizes a spell. He can feel it floating around him, carely touching him. If it touched him, consequences would be great for Alexander. He hates mages. He killed the most powerful in his ancient home. The leader had given him the scars that ran across his face. He simply sniffed, drinking his coffee.

"It's rude to cast spells on people without their permission."

SammieK - February 19, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
"I'm not known for my manners." Shrug. "And the spell isn't precisely on you."

He looks smug. This is because he is smug. He can keep Keye away from this creature, and the creature can't do a thing about it.

So there.

Kaylee - February 19, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
"Ah, pardon my poor selection of words. It is rude to cast a spell around a person."

He only leaned on the table. He looks just as smug as Alexander.

Just because Keye would run from him, doesn't mean that he could stop the angel from running after him, could he? And he is a hell of a lot fast on land and air than the boy is.

Wouldn't he be able to catch him? And kill him anyways?

Not like Nafi is exactly planning on doing that, the thought is just entertaining.

He'd much rather sink his teeth in this man.

He's going to have to tell Criss about this man.

SammieK - February 19, 2006 11:02 PM (GMT)
Alexander shrugs.

"Do you know something? I do not care. I do not, in fact, give a damn."

He smiles. It's the sort of nasty smile he smiled when he was crushing every bone in Logan's body.

He doesn't actually care if Jibril--Nafi, whatever--tells Criss about him. (Not that he knows about Criss, but he wouldn't care anyway.)

Kaylee - February 19, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
Nafi doesn't care if Alexander would care or not if he told Criss about him.

Nafi only cares about spreading the news that he met the man who nearly killed Logan.

The angel, quite unbothered by the sneer the other was wearing, only gave one back himself. Extra points for very sharp canines. It is hard to determine which one is more insane. Then again, are they insane in the same way?

"Ah lovely. I have the same attitude myself."

Except he has manners. Yes, Nafi takes pride in that. He's leaning forward on the table. Surely Alexander would be able to feel that buzzing that comes along with his aura. Some people are disturbed, some find it relaxing, others find it tedious.

"No one gives a damn about anyone but themselves in fact, anymore. But I congratulate you, for that is not the case with you, you are one of the first people I've met who actually cares about someone else besides themself."

And this angel is willing to hunt down anyone and all persons that Alex cares about. Just to bother the other. Careful, that mind end up becoming a mission for Nafi. Hunting down people he cares about. It is possible, though it would take forever. Tedious jobs always have a satisfying reward in the end, even if it is just knowing you got the job done.

SammieK - February 19, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
Now, now, Nafi, you must have had a poor sampling of humanity if you think no one cares about anyone but themselves.

Alexander waves a hand.

"Do you mind? You're blocking my light."

He has papers to grade, you know.

Kaylee - February 19, 2006 11:29 PM (GMT)
Of course, Nafi, being who he is, picks up a few papers and starts to look over them.

"Mhm." Puts it back down on top of whatever papers. "Mm." Puts that back onto table to.

And he just keeps doing that, not moving or anything.

He deems Alexander unworthy of his respect. So screw him. Coffee is dangerously close to his elbow too.

SammieK - February 19, 2006 11:32 PM (GMT)
Alexander is annoyed.

He gathers his papers and his briefcase.

"Excuse me."

He brushes past Nafi without anything more than that, and he's gone.
