Title: Lots and lots of books
Description: -Tietie.

She wasn't really squirrelled away in some private corner of the bookstore. She was rather in a fairly public and sort of uncomfortable place, because the private corner was already occupied.
She was sitting at a table, book in her hands. Just because, really, she wasn't sure if she wanted to buy this book or not...
Her blond hair was tied into a messy ponytail, glasses falling to the tip of her nose. Her blue-green eyes were intently fixed on the book. Her outfit consisted of a grey and pink Aeropostal sweatshirt and dark jeans.
Also? The book she's reading is a lesbian book, but nobody knows that.

Fish walks up beside her and gazes rather disinterestedly at her hair, her manner, her attire...
He picks up another copy of the same book, turning it over in his hands. A lock of his shimmery hair falls over one eye, and he shakes it back, continuing to stare dully at Nienna.
"Like girls, do you?" he says, as he removes the dust jacket from the book, the way you'd imagine a cleaner, more well-dressed version of him removing clothes from a woman. He rips the spine off the book, slowly.
It's clear from the expression in his eyes that he's not being perverted. In fact, he doesn't care whether she answers him or not.
Now that he's fully dislocated the spine of the book from the rest of it, he puts the end in his mouth and sucks docilely.

That was several kinds of going beyond creepy. And I'm just talking about what he said. She sort of dropped the book and looked up at him, disturbed. And she inched away from him on the table.
"OhmyGAWD."
Very nice, Nienna. Very nice. So subtle.

Fish's conversational skills are not the smoothest, no. He doesn't even see the problem. Unless...
Oh, she doesn't want anybody to know?
"Keep it down!" he shushes, flapping his hands (one of them is holding the now slightly wet spine). "It's okay. Some people do."
He looks up at the ceiling and adds ruminatively, "I do."

"But you just..."
She couldn't finish the sentence because she didn't want to. And this guy was creepy.
"You are hurting that book."
She was scared of him, but... the book! He was dismantling it.
She looked away quickly, feeling creeped out just being in the presence of him.
And she was not going to respond to his comment.
Cagey Tiger - February 12, 2006 01:46 AM (GMT)
"Well..."
He is.
He is hurting that book.
He looks down at the partially-stripped remains and sighs.
"There's another one. So it's all right then, isn't it?"
Smiling vaguely, puts the spine of the book back into his mouth.

"No it is not all right." She would give him a 'why are you talking to me' look, but she refused to look at him. She hunched her shoulders.
"It's not yours. I... I...am gonna get somebody to... come get you," she threatened.
Cagey Tiger - February 12, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
"And throw me right back where I came from." he giggles, rather high-pitched. "Alas. Woe is I. Think they'd let me keep this?" he gestures with his snack.
"What's wrong with you? Why do you keep your head turned strangely like that?"
Arcane Blood - February 12, 2006 01:58 AM (GMT)
"I... I don't know. They'll... prob'ly arrest you, or something. For book-mangling."
She huffed.
"What is wrong is that you are still talking to me."
Creep!
Cagey Tiger - February 12, 2006 02:09 AM (GMT)
"Jail is warm." is the matter-of-fact reply. "And you are still talking to me, too."
Maybe it's something he ought to be doing. It looks like it might be fun, he thinks doubtfully.
Then he turns his head away from Nienna and hunches his shoulders up, and does his best to make his body language say 'thoroughly uncomfortable'.

She shuddered and wanted to cry and turned to look at him only to throw the book at him. Because she would rather him leaver her alone, see.
