Title: Two Stars
Description: open
The Ultimate Lurker - February 1, 2006 06:38 AM (GMT)
Two Stars, who is not like clock work which makes him not like Sidus, has his hair in a bun as well. His isn’t a fashion statement. It’s an artist bent over a sketchbook who got frustrated and speared the bun with a spare pencil. In a few hours he’ll wonder where that pencil went.
His face is angular and thin with focused eyes that have a rather absorbed appearance to them. One ankle over the other knee makes a desk which a rather large notebook sits on. Slouch and he’s over the book, chalking away, turning the brilliance of life before him into an utterly dark, frighteningly real scene, like a beauty queen looking in a mirror to find an ugly hag staring back.
Cordiroy tan pants and a white, men’s undershirt with a black jacket which would have done more good zipped up and he effectively looks like a half-starving artist. Park benches are hard and uncomfortable. I wonder what possesses him or the old lady feeding the birds three benches down to think that they’d be any less comfortable in the dead of winter.
It's evening, late, getting close to night fall and when he looks up he can already see a slither of the moon. Then Sidus. Then Two Stars. But it's no fun now that there's three stars to be seen.
His mind is a little...awkward.

((Sure. Two Stars won't mind. *prods him*))
Kaylee - February 2, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
(( WEE! And just becuase Rain wants to, he'll meet Two Stars, I hope you don't mind rping with Rain ;P ))
It is amazing how fast a day can go when you just sit down and listen to music and sleep. That was how Rain's day was. He finally got out of the house about an hour ago, after taking a shower and eating a lot of sandwhiches. A lot meaning about six of them. Lettuce, tomato, cheese, ham, and mayo. After six he couldn't eat anymore and pigged out on strawberry ice cream. Still worried about getting fat, but he was eating more ice cream, despite the fact he hated unnaturally sweet things. It must be Ivan's doing. He was going to have to cream the boy with a pillow the next time he sees him.
That sounds good.
For once he wasn't wearing his skates, he had them in a white bag he was carrying. He had skated in the earlier, but got bored and took them off when eating and then taking a five-minute nap. Despite his all day sleep-in and laziness at this time being, he didn't look or act like that. His face was blank, but it had a pleasantness to the blank expression, like he was really smiling. And his clothes. My goodness, the colors were very...eye-catching?
Today his color theme was green. All shades of green, from forest green to sea green, to neon green. He wore green. And he looked very nice in it too. It was one of his half-girl, half-boy outfits. A cute shirt, girl cute and light green, very tight to his slim torso and bosom, showing them off well. The shirt had a turtleneck and sleeves that came up to the middle of his hands; with holes for his thumbs. There was a dark green, almost white looking heart on the center of the shirt. He likes hearts. Green hearts especially. Green is the color of love after all.
His pants were of course, boy shorts, pulled up properly around his waist and held up by a thick, dark belt. His pants were acid-washed, a sea greenish sort of color, coming down to the middle of his calves, with torn bottoms. Endless pockets decorate them, and his green iPod is clipped to a pocket, nestled against his waist. Over his shirt, sleeves rolled up, is a plaid-design flannel jacket of all sorts of green. Toss in unseen ankle socks and high top neon green Converses, you get a pretty comfy Rain.
And he standing behind Two Stars. Well, not quite yet, but he is planning on it, since he is walking over there. He can see the other's sketch book. He has good eye sight.
Now he is standing next to Two Stars, looking, not peering, over the other's arm.
"Tha's cool."
Normal voice, Californian accent. But cheerful enough without being really loud. And seriously, the drawing is cool. People have twisted minds. It's normal.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 2, 2006 03:55 AM (GMT)
Two Stars grinned, sending a pair of crow feet like markings around the corner of his eyes, despite that his skin is still young and tight and rubbery. They're smile marks. And believe me, he smiles a lot.
He did not turn to look at who was complimenting him. Only that his art work was complimented and that it meant that he was complimented and that was good. Besides, if he took a moment to turn around and take a peek then he'd loose this perfect flow that his hands and eyes are colaborating togather on. And his hand hasn't stop moving.
"Thanks much," his own accent is there too. Its a lazy sort of draw that Sidus has already unadapted himself from but Two Star's still uses. Not quite southern but further south then that, though if you hit a place called Cuba you've gone too far south. Island sounds come from his mouth, lazy, easy, accented with just a little bit of slant to the sound. He talks like Jessy. *.*
No one said his mind is twisted. It's just a little bit awkward to some. He focuses too much on the stars maybe.
"Cold," he commented idely, though he didn't look very cold. "Sit?"
He's not usually so monotone.
Kaylee - February 2, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
(( :twitch: Stupid ferking post eating sonofabitch board. :twitch: ))
Rain grinned in an automatic reply to the other's grin.
"Welcome...and sure, thank-ya..."
Walking quietly, around the backof the bench as to not disturb the other somehow or in someway, if he was looking at something, he carefully set his bag down, and then quietly sat next to the other on the bench. Next to meaning Rain closeness; not right on top of, but near enough to make people with personal space issues throw a coniption, hoefully Two Stars isn't like that. There is about an inch between them, only because Rain is looking (not peering closely) down at the other's drawing.
It isn't that he thinks Two Stars is or has a twisted mind, it is just that when a stranger sees a person drawing a picture like /that/, it is most likely one of the first things that may pop to their mind. But twisted is perfectly fine with Rain, as long as it doesn't involve in him being punished or self-mutilation.
He carefully brushes a few hairs out of his, as to not bump the other. He couldn't help but look over the other, a Rain thing. He's really thin like Ivan, angular face like Ivan, and Ivan has blonde hair right? Damn, save for what's it called, goatee or whatever - Rain can't remember - he looks kinda similar to Ivan, in Rain's mind. What is it with pale, skinny blondes anyways? Rain never got that.
"S'cuse me if I'm too close..."
He didn't want to try to talk to the other, lest he disturb him or annoy him. Better off letting him finish drawing first. Rain liked watching the other, not really hard 'cause he knew that annoyed people - or at least some - but he just looked over softly. His body is warm by the way, it radiates heat. Something natural for him.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 2, 2006 11:02 PM (GMT)
Two Stars doesn't do coniption. Just like he doesn't do uncomfortable or awkward. They aren't things he tries not to feel, he just...doesn't do them.
Sidus got that side of the gene pool.
And yes, once upon a time, beneath all the pink dye, Ivan had blond hair. But Two Stars, once upon a time under all the blond dye, had brown hair, as his (I guess you could call it a goatee, though Sidus' is more like a goatee) soul patch portrayed.
"Mmm." Mumbled. No problem. You aren't too close. "Warm." I think he's actually talking to himself now. Outloud. "Like spring time." Poet. And a romantic. No need to tell him that.
His eyes haven't left the trees but his hand might say he's not even looking. While the trees in his picture are in the same exact locations as the ones before him and are of the exact same kind, their branches aren't so heavily loaded with leaves, mose hanges on them so long that it touches the ground. Gray, Black, White, Charcoal pencil. His fingers are covered in it and so is a spot on his chin now that he's reached up and scratched the skin there.
"Two Stars." It wouldn't suprise him if the other didn't pick up on the fact that this was an introduction, even though he said it a little louder, making it known he's talking to him.
Kaylee - February 2, 2006 11:35 PM (GMT)
Well then, it is a good side that this is Two Stars Rain is practically up against and not Sidus then, yes?
Rain smiled when the other mumbled. He took that as an 'I don't mind' because it wasn't a grumpy sounding grumble. Warm' made him sort of blink, and 'Like spring time' made him smile even more. He had an idea maybe the other was talking about him, but he didn't want to jump to conclusions. It was nice though.
Rain was looking at the trees. To him, the almost seemed dreary. Maybe they weren't supposed to be dreary, maybe they were supposed to be scary, Rain didn't know; he had no eye for art, but that was how he saw them.
Two Stars?
Huh? Rain blinked a few times, looking over the drawing then subtley around. He knew the other had been speaking to him. The tone of voice suggested...introduction? Was that his name? Rain didn't laugh or anything, when a male and having the name 'Charlotte Rain Sharlemay', he no longer laughed at other people's names.
"Rain."
His name in return. So we have Two Stars and Rain. Heh, kinda funny.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 2, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
Actually, Two Stars' name is so simple as to be Michael. You might laugh at Sidus though, Morgan, that is, if your own name wasn't Charlotte. But no one really knows there names so Two Stars it is.
A faint smile lifted the corner of his lip again, making the soul patch crooked when the other started looking around. He could see it at the corner of his eyes. It wouldn't matter to look up anymore since there were now eight stars dotting the sky.
Rain?
His hand paused for a moment and he turned to fix his pale eyes on the other. His gaze was measured, watery, and didn't waver until he smiled, sending those crow feet marks back to the corner of his eyes again.
"Also," he said, his voice low and gentle and somehow melodic, "Like spring."
And he's back to drawing, eyes on the trees.
Dreary it is. That's because it's black. And white. And charcoaled.
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
Sidus and Two Stars is much more interesting. Michael and Morgan, okay...though one might expect their names to be switched, Morgan seems a more Two Star-like name.
He blinked though, for a moment, when the other turned and looked at him. They were pretty close actually, but Rain could see his full face easilly now. Two Stars was close enough, he'd probably be able to count each individual freckle amongst the splash of them across his face.
He blinked again, then grinned at the second 'like spring' comment.
"I guess so."
Friendly tone. He's a very friendly person, matches his warm body with a warm personality.
"Your trees look rather sad..."
Simple comment, no critisizing, simple observation.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
Two Stars likes critisism.
What kind of real artist isn't critisized? And if he doesn't get critisized then how will he know what people really think and like?
Now, you'd get your fingers bit off if you tried to critisize...or observe....Sidus. He doesn't do critisism.
"Of course they are," he replied, still drawing. Charcoal. Gray. Black....white. "It's winter." As if that answered everything. He continued to scratch away with his charcoal pencil.
"You wouldn't be so happy if you were stuck standing in the cold with wet snow sitting on you all winter would you?" It was a mild question. Real curiosity.
Later, there will be color.
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
"True true."
Rain nodded, here it certainly was like that, he didn't like that. He stuck out his tongue.
"I grew up in San Deigo though, sunny weather for me. Much nicer during the winter than here."
He looked around, definetly, with its sun and gorgeous people and palm trees. He loved that place, not that he didn't love Bayfield either, it was just that...Bayfield was rather....what is the word? Dark? With a lot of bad stuff happening under the surface, as well as the fact it was up here in the freezing North. Plus in Canada.
He was a long ways from home.
"How 'bout you?"
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 12:48 AM (GMT)
Two Stars was still smiling, still drawing.
"I came from the Florida sprem." Jessy's words not mine! But it made me laugh so you get to laugh now. "I'm an island boy but I missed the winter." That's right, after all that he said about the poor trees standing around in the cold, he actually likes winter time.
"I missed the snow. And Needed a better college. So we came here." Because they randomly pointed and selected it from the map.
He really does feel sorry for the trees.
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
Rain snorted and gave a small laugh. Florida sperm? That's a new one, luckilly Rain kinda new what he was talking about, the islands, right?
"So you are a snow lovin' island boy, hm?"
Rain grinned, that sounded kinda...cute...to him. He chuckled too, continuing to look at the dreary trees.
"You are a student here? Me too...GeoPhysics, how about yourself?"
Wow, he was meeting a lot of college students outside of school lately. Lucky him, huh?
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
"Absolutly." He shifted the pencil to the other hand and dug in his pocket, sliding down on the bench into a slouch, the sketch book almost slid off his lap and he put the pencil in his mouth and his hand on the edge of the book, holding it in place. Then, sitting back up and repositioning the book, he produced pencils. Green and brown and yellow pencils only.
But about five different shades of each color.
He started to sketch with the brown charcoal.
"Poetry," he replied feeling the least bit stupid sitting beside a soon-to-be GeoPhysics major. "Poetry proes and Mechanical writing."
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 01:32 AM (GMT)
Rain watched what the other was doing with interest, seeing him pull out some colored pencils. This was interesting, he was going to color? Ran perked up with interest leaning over slightly. He liked the colors, green was his favorite because it was well, green, and it matched him, yellow was cheerful and awesome, and brown was down to earth and very neutral. He grinned.
"Nice colors."
He himself, as noted before, was dressed head to toe in green.
"Really?" Poetry and writing. English was never a favorite of Rain's. "Cool, not my strong points, but that is cool. It would prove to me very useful if I could write...what do you do?"
He peaked over at the other's face with interest. What is Mechanical Writing? Writing with computers?
Rain was very dumb in this area.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
Michanical writing is...a fancy name for Writing styles basically.
And it's ok. Two Stars knows absolutly nothing about GeoPhysics.
The brown wasn't earthly. It was barkish. ^^ He began to apply the colors which mixed with the charcoal black just looked more glum and dark. He added it to the grass, the stumps, the trunks, the branches, even into the few leaves.
"Thanks much," he said again. "Do? As in Job? Or poetry?" He'd much rather talk about poetry then work. Seriously.
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 02:25 AM (GMT)
"Your poetry classes, and such, I hate talking about jobs; its a boring subject."
He blew some of his hair out of his face, believe it or not, gods know why, but he was overheated, waving a hand in his face, mumbling about being roasting. Gods, why did he have to be so hot? Not physically hot, he is attractive yes, but we are talking about body temperature. Rain's average temperature is higher than the dubbed 'average' but he isn't running a fever or anything like that.
He's just warmer than most people. He is seriously sending off heat waves - no he isn't in heat either, perverts.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 02:33 AM (GMT)
Two Stars paused again to look sideways at Rain. "Oh good," and he's back to his artwork. "Because I like to talk about poetry." Aparrently. And besides that, he doesn't like to discuss work either.
"The professor just sort of paces the room and recites poetry I've read a million times. He drinks too much coffee and talks too fast." He grinned, eyes on the paper now.
"We spend a lot of time just writing to write."
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 03:53 AM (GMT)
"Great. I'd love to hear what you have to say."
Rain grinned, honest tone of voice. He was honest, he loved hearing other's talk, not just him. He laughed though, when the other described his teacher, it reminded him of his 9th grade world history teacher. He laughed.
"In my math classes-" With Rain math classes, think all the way up to Proof and Theory stuff, like proving 1 +1 = 2, yea, really hard and a totaly bitch. "-my teacher drones on an on. Really good information, just presented in a way that makes for good snooze time..."
"But that sounds cool...never been much of a writing or artist person myself, I'm a gymnist...trapeze and all that stuff..."
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 04:04 AM (GMT)
Two stars switched the pencils to the yellow ones, pocketing the brown ones again and tucking the black one behind his ear.
"Sometimes the mind obsorbes more information when your physically asleep," he offered as an excuse for wanting to sleep. He grinned, "It's my brother's favorite method."
The gymnist bit seemed to interest him in the same way that the rare news that a male tried out for the cheerleading squad. Not impossible but certainly incredable. "Really?" He looked up, first at Rain, then the trees. "So your flexible. It doesn't hurt? How long?"
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 04:17 AM (GMT)
Rain laughed.
"I'll have to tell the Professor that the next time she catches them then, yes? Save their scrawny asses."
He grinned down at the other. It wasn't the first time some people have been a little shocked or surprised to hear that. After all, a GeoPhysics major who also specializes in gymnastics?
...Odd...
A nod.
"Yes really, I am very flexible, it only hurts if I don't warm up properly, and for about 20 something years..."
A long time.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 3, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
He grinned. "Yeah. Or you could save it for a time when you finally fall asleep."
Yellow gave the gloomy images a forboding sense as he stuffed the multitude of yellows into his pocket with the brown and finally started adding green.
"The most gymnastics I could conqure is a good handstand. And usually I end up walking because I can't stay up stright." He sucks as a gymnist. He's slightly flexable though, what with long limbs and all.
The green changed the whole outlook of the art work slowly.
Kaylee - February 3, 2006 11:08 AM (GMT)
"True, true...doubt anyone would want to rescue me...have to look out for myself in this world, yes?"
His interest was renewed with the beginning of the the addition of green to the drawing. Wow, it was looking great. He chortled after the other spoke, softly, crossing his knees.
"Balance is one of the key factors, as well as strength in arms and legs...I don't think I have done a hand stand in forever..."
He blinked.
"Odd..."
Then looked over the drawing again.
"Oh wow! Lookit that...green changes everything..."
Green is the color of love after all.
The Ultimate Lurker - February 5, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
He grinned. “In this world? Oh yeah.”
He didn’t notice the renewal in interest. He might even be a little disappointed that interest ever waned from his art. He’s nothing. His art is the important one. To him anyways. But next to his poetry, he’d care less if his art book took a headfirst dive into a bathtub full of water.
“Got Balance. My feet just know where they belong.” On the Ground. Firmly planted there too, if at all possible. “I skate. Board.” To be more specific. Balance is key. That and not getting your pants caught under the wheels.
Another grin. “Yeah it does.” The three different shades of green, six colors of yellow, and two shades of brown with the gray, white, and black charcoal looked…alive. Nothing spooky about that picture there.
