It's a typical Saturday night - or what a typical Saturday has been since Vi and Dave got back together. This means that Violet is over at Dave's place, watching a movie (that's the usual plan, anyway) with him. She's settled cozily on the couch, blinking at the flickering screen through strands of her hair. She leaves it down more often now, because Dave had once told her he liked it that way. As they weren't going out anywhere tonight, she's wearing hanging-around clothes - jeans and a cozy sweater. Nothing special.

Violet yawns and tilts sideways, to lean on her boyfriend.
She's missed this.

Dave puts an arm around her and squeezes her shoulder. He's missed this too; it's the kind of comfortable, easy thing that doesn't happen with a lot of girls. (For example, Jetta. Just doing something lazy and hanging out isn't something you can do with her...)

His hand drifts down her side a little. He isn't actually interested in the movie, you know...

"Hey, Vi?"

"Mm..."
She blinks up at him. She doesn't find the movie particularly interesting, either, but only because she's pretty sure she's seen it before. That, or it's a very predictable movie that should never have been made.
"Yeah?"

Dave reaches over and lifts her chin.

"Is it just me, or was this movie a bad choice?"

He kisses her gently. "There's got to be something better to do."

Vi smiles at him.

"It's not just you," she agrees, snuggling closer, and kissing back. It took her a while to be comfortable with being so close, but now she doesn't even give it a second thought. "Why, d'you have something in mind?"

"Dunno. Guess it depends on whether you did."

He plays with her hair a little while he's thinking.

"... you ever date anybody before me, Vi?"

"No, I didn't have anything in mind..." she sighs and lets her head fall towards his hand.

"Mm,... no. No one who counted. High school dates don't count, right?...There was only one anyway. And like I said - high school." Another sigh. "...I know you dated other people."

Dave makes a face.

"... yeah. It wasn't all that great." Pause. "I kind of had bad luck with girls... Before I met you, anyway, and we haven't had it that great either."

He shakes his head at himself.

"You remember when you first met Jetta? 'Course you do, you can't forget a bitch like that."

"Heh,... yeah, that's true... Just haven't had any luck..."
She hates the word 'luck' now, as well as the goddess the word belongs to.
"Ooh, yeah. I remember," Violet imitates him and shakes her head, "She should be in the Guinness World Records book. World's biggest bitch. She wins that title, no contest,.. probably a couple other titles, too..."

He chuckles.

"Well, yeah. Except I've dated two other girls who've been bitches and high maintenance and shit, she was just the worst. And I've dated a few other girls who left me for somebody more mature." Shrug. "I dunno. Seems like I'm doomed to short relationships."

Except he's been dating Vi, off and on, for how long now? Certainly longer than he ever dated Jetta.

"Well,... I can promise I won't leave you for someone more mature..." she giggles.
Anyone more mature than Dave would definitely be too old for her, and it's not as if she's looking for maturity. Or even actively looking - she has Dave, what more could she want?

"And you are completely not a bitch." He likes that. To prove that he likes that, he decides to kiss her again.

Mm, kissing. If he's stroking her back at the same time, of course he'll stop if Violet decides to object.

Yay, Dave doesn't think she's a bitch! Not that she thought that he thought she was,... though she'd wondered once or twice in the past if she deserved that designation.

"Mm," Violet says agreeably - though it's somewhat difficult to say anything, as her mouth is otherwise occupied. Without even thinking about it, she loops an arm around his neck.

And then his hand slips underneath her shirt. Completely innocent, of course. And again, if she objects, he'll stop.

Probably apologize profusely and stop.

She tenses, just slightly - that was unexpected - but relaxes again almost immediately. This was Dave, and - and they were dating, for goodness' sakes. This was perfectly alright.

Here Violet loses herself for a moment. That is, the part of herself that thinks this is wrong.
It's been told, in no uncertain terms, to shut up.

"Hey..." he murmurs. "You okay?"

His hand hesitates where it is and he looks at her with some concern. The very last thing he wants is to throw their relationship on the rocks again.

That's never fun.

"I'm fine," she says.
And kisses him.
And smiles.
"Really."

Dave smiles. And kisses her back. And keeps going.

There have been lots of reasons he and she haven't done this before. He didn't want to move too fast, he was traumatized, she was angry with him, she was injured...

"Say something if you want me to stop, 'kay?"

"Mmhmm,...'kay."

Now is an appropriate time for the curtain to fall.
