Always the same...
Logan was just hanging around. He'd been studying a lot lately, since Criss ordered the materials and such. He'd been somewhat happier, but everything he'd done still nagged at him and he couldn't get the feeling to go away. Keye was right.
But Logan did no evil anymore. He just needed to be outside for a while to help clear his mind. He didn't feel good. He was leaning against a wall, arms crossed over his chest. He looked... bad. He was still beautiful, of course, but he looked starved and scrawny. The big black jacket he had on only exaggerated his thinness even more. He was starting to get very sick.
His black pants hung loose on his bony hips, exposing skin. He didn't decide to wear any jewelry today, not feeling up to it. His hood was pulled up over his head, but black hair poked out anyway. His icy blue eyes were weary and tired.
The city was sort of busy, but no one paid any mind to Logan. People-watching was fairly normal, with all these people around...

Viv was out walking, she should probably be working, but she could only stand so much work. Of coarse the down side of walking around by yourself is that it gives you time to think. She was thinking about a lot of things, but none for very long, there were somethings in Viv's life left best unfocused on.
Still in spite of all that thinking, she was wary, somewhere Mac was still on the lose, he could be anyone, and somewhere was that God-damned angel, bitch. She kept aware of her surroundings, and that would be how she noticed the sickly looking youth standing and watching the world pasively. Something about him reminded her of Jesse, and so she stopped. "You okay?" she asked simply.
Arcane Blood - January 28, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
He heard the voice, and gave the figure it belonged to a brief glance. Logan assumed she was talking to him. It seemed everyone, not just Criss and Jibril, had been noticing his skeletalness lately.
"Depends what your definition of okay is." His voice was still soft and velvety as ever, betraying his awful appearance.
K-Squared - January 28, 2006 12:50 AM (GMT)
"That could be debateable, feel alright according to your own definition? I'm sure you know you don't look too great." Viv said. Her own voice sounded lazy, and drawled softly, almost as if her words curled at the edges.
Arcane Blood - January 28, 2006 12:52 AM (GMT)
"I feel sick, if that's what you're asking." He gave a vague shrug, eyes watching her. He couldn't help watching people. It was a bad habit.
K-Squared - January 28, 2006 12:58 AM (GMT)
"Been to the doctor, or you can't go?" She didn't mean to imply he couldn't afford it, she herself can't go to a doctor, how do you explain to a doctor that you may look normal but you're sort of like a magical Frankenstein, you don't.
Arcane Blood - January 28, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
He raised an eyebrow. Doctors? ...No. Never.
"Mm... no. Haven't. Don't want to go. Don't plan to."
Even though Criss would probably drag him there sooner or later...
K-Squared - January 28, 2006 02:16 AM (GMT)
"I never go either. You know what's wrong at all, or you just feel sick?" she asked. He sure looked pitiful, and Viv tends to be a sucker for pitiful looking kids.
I wonder if she would be if she knew who exactly this kid was.....something tells me she'd be infinitely more forgiving than her brother.
"It doesn't exactly look like you've been taking great care of yourself." she said softly. "If you feel up to a bite to eat, I'll treat." she offered.
Some kids might be hesitant to trust a stranger, but in spite of how rough the kid looked, he had a fearless quality about him.
Arcane Blood - January 28, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
"Just sick." Logan wasn't a real conversationist. Everyone who knew him knew that.
And, I suspect she might be at least a little forgiving? After all, she'd once been a violent person, hadn't she?
Though, he didn't want forgiveness.
"I did this to myself," he admitted softly, eyes closed. "Eating would make it worse."
As he'd discovered, eating something after you've nearly starved yourself to death freaks out your stomach and makes you violently ill.
K-Squared - January 28, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
Viv would insist she is still violent, though with more forethought. She knows why she's a monster now, it helps keep her sane.
"That happens when you go too long without eating....."She said softly. Was there something in the air here that drove people to starve themselves?
"You can't go without eating indefinitely." she added. Viv would be in terrible shape if she went for more than a day with out sustenance of some sort, food, or energy. Starving to death slowly, is one of the more horrific fates she can imagine.
I'm sure her starving freinds have no idea how uncomfortable the notion makes her though, she doesn't speak of it.
Arcane Blood - January 28, 2006 11:55 PM (GMT)
"I figured that out the hard way," he said softly, a frown creasing his brows and bringing down his lips.
He wrapped his arms around himself just a little tighter. Then his brows lifted slightly.
"They've tried to make me eat, already."
Jibril and Criss, that is. But Viv ahd no idea who they were.
K-Squared - January 29, 2006 12:16 AM (GMT)
She nodded, figuring he meant his parents. Someone must care about him. She once thought no-one cared about her, now she had people who cared about her, well IF one can call, Uriel, and Cheddar people, Gatt only partially counted though he was definitely a people, though Gatt's girlfriend seemed to actually care too. Still all of that made her think everyone had someone to care about them, cept maybe Mac, and she knew people had cared about him at one time.
"Where's it hurt worst? Your stomach gnawing away at itself, or the terrible headache?" she asked. She knew what hunger felt like, though she caved into hers quickly, she'd still felt the beginings of it's pains. That had of coarse been when she was younger, and before she'd understood that pain could feed her.
Arcane Blood - January 30, 2006 12:52 AM (GMT)
"I can usually deal with both of them, but..." he winced a little, thinking.
"I think I'd sacrifice my right arm to make the headache go away."
He wondered why she cared, though...
"Don't take my word for that, though." Ill-humored smile.
K-Squared - January 30, 2006 05:59 AM (GMT)
"There was a time when I might have taken you up on that." She was teasing though. She'd never been into severing people's limbs as suvenirs, no matter how much anguish and suffering it might cause them.
She could make the headache go away, though not forever, a few days respite from pain though, she could manage. She had no way to explain it though, so she didn't offer, though she wanted to. He didn't seem like he wanted to starve himself in truth, but she might be wrong.
"How'd it start, or is that way too personal?" she asked in a more quiet drawl. Her voice could be very soothing. Many of her victims had let her looks and that honeyed tongue of hers convince them she was harmless. Today she wasn't after lulling anyone into a false sense of security, she was just being nosey. She had no way to explain her newly aquired habit of nosiness, perhaps it was simply that she was curious, now that she didn't have to avoid people.
Arcane Blood - February 5, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
That got Logan to sort of smile. There was a time, not so far in his past, where he would have gladly severed somebody's arm off. He'd probably hang it on his wall as a trophy, too.
But that was then. No need to dwell on the past. That was for the cops to worry about.
"Nobody I know eats. My dad's... he's got cancer." Logan didn't care about personal business. He was a nosy punk kid himself.
But, somehow, you know, it hurt to say that.
(Sorry for taking so long.)
K-Squared - February 12, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
(OOC=yeah well six days on a reply from me is nothing to be proud of don't worry about the delay.....I've been busy lately meself)
"No kidding no one I know really eats either. My boyfreind doesn't and my few freinds don't either. I'm starting to think this city drives people to starve themselves." She told him traces of sarcasm were evident in her drawl.
She could tell it had hurt him to say what he had about his dad. Pain just sort of found it's way to her if she held still lately. There was no need to seek it out as she once had.
"I'm sorry about your dad." she told him. She was too. The guy probably didn't deserve to have cancer at all, someone like her dad did instead, but life was hardly fair. She didn't dwell on such things long.
"Anything I can do?" she offered. It was still strange for her to deal with doing such things, reaching out to other people, but more and more she felt the need to.
Arcane Blood - February 12, 2006 07:36 PM (GMT)
"Maybe it's the water," he commented dryly, a smirk twisting his pretty pink lips.
Then the smirk just disappeared, as if unwelcomed on his face.
"It's okay." It wasn't, but what was he supposed to say?
"Any chance you could make him feel better?" He questioned, doubtfully.
Ah, wishful thinking.
K-Squared - February 13, 2006 03:36 AM (GMT)
"It is possible.....but you are old enough to know some things have a price....." she said cryptically. It never was good to reveal too much to someone who might not understand about the existance of magic.
She could heal things, but the process was painful to whoever she healed, in addition to visiting their pain on her while she did it, but then pain is what fed her magic. She had no intention of explaining such a thing to a very likely mundane punk boy, not without knowing a lot more about him.
(how odd I replied exactly eight hours later.....)
Arcane Blood - February 14, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
"Possible?" Logan's face darkened. "No. They're already doing everything they can and it's not working."
He hissed a sigh through his teeth.
He couldn't help but be skeptical. It sounded like she was going to sell him some sort of "miracle drug".
K-Squared - February 14, 2006 10:05 PM (GMT)
She assumed they meant doctors. She shook her head. "I'm no doctor......What I'm talking about would hardly be considered conventional." She said, noting his sigh.
