Title: Just... there.
Description: April! <3

Arcane Blood - January 10, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
(Sorry. Didn't know where to start it. Hope this is okay?)

He was just... there. He didn't command respect, he didn't attract attention (other than the fact his face looked so familiar), wasn't breaking the law (i.e. see didn't attract attention), and was rather easy to miss if you weren't looking for him.

He was sitting on a bench, out of the wat of everything, reading a book that he could really care less about. He was half-asleep and just trying to distract his eyes from falling asleep. He had to work in an hour or two.

His hair was pulled into a sloppy and messy pony-tail, strands hanging everywhere. Some of the more annoying strands too short to tuck behind his ears were hanging in his blue-green-gray eyes. His eyes were... well, very near to closing.

He had on a gray sweatshire with the letters 'AERO' on the front, and black pants that were about two sizes too big.

He was just there.

It had been yet another hectic day of classes. Hurrying from one class to another. She’d come quite close to being late for two of those classes. To top it all off, she has more homework tonight than she has in quite some time. And it’s Friday. Do you really think she wants to spend her entire weekend doing homework? Not really, but she would do it because she was a good student. Ah, the life of a college student. Sure, she would get her studies and such done long before the weekend was over. She always did. The girl was quite serious about her studies. However, she was not going to do any of it right this very minute.

When class got out, she got out of there as quickly as she could. Instead of heading right for her dorm room, as she would normally do, she decided to go for a walk through the park first. Maybe that would help clear her frantic mind from all the hustle and bustle of the busy day before finally heading back to get busy with her studies. The fresh air would do her quite a bit of good.

Through the park walks a very pretty Mexican girl. Her interesting colored hair flowing around her shoulders. Light grey eyes shine with her enjoyment of life. She’s wearing a pair of tight black pants that show off every curve and muscle of her well defined legs, and a light green sweater that’s a bit low cut in the front, but not low enough to show off the nearly white marking on her right breast. She has on no make-up. She doesn’t need it. She’s pretty enough without it. She’s carrying a light blue book-bag over her shoulder that is obviously full of books and things, and in her arms, she is carrying a couple more books, a notebook and some loose papers.

As she walks through the park, the fresh air does, indeed, seem to be doing her quite a bit of good. Perhaps too good, as her mind begins to wander, thus causing her to not pay attention to where she is going. Suddenly she bumps into the end of the bench occupied by a guy reading a book and, in an attempt to prevent herself from falling, she ends up dropping the books and stuff all over the place.

“Estoy apesadumbrado (I’m sorry),” she stammers as she begins to try to gather her dropped things, thus ending up dropping her book-bag as well.

"Oh. Oh, crap."

Alister was suddenly alert, as if he'd just been woken. He set his book down on the bench (he wasn't really reading it anyway) and stood. Would it be okay for him to help gather her books for her? Well... he kneeled down on the ground and did, anyway.

"It's okay." His accent was strange. It was almost harsh-sounding... very guttural.

"You all right?"

He picked up her bookbag and started picking up books and placing them there.

"Sorry about this. I... um, do you speak English?"

oneofmanysouls - January 11, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
She never realized when she was speaking Spanish since it came natural to her. It was, after all, her first language.

She nodded her head. “Yes,” she answered. “Not good though. Understand better than speak.”

With his help, she managed to get her books and stuff gathered back up into a pile.

“Much thanks,” she said as she set the books that had been loose on the bench.

“Any hit you, I sorry for.”

Arcane Blood - January 11, 2006 12:47 AM (GMT)
"No problem. No worries, though. No worries. I'm not hurt or anything. No damage done."

He shrugged his shoulders a little bit and then relaxed them, standing up and sliding back to his place on the bench.

"You gonna be okay?"

oneofmanysouls - January 11, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
After getting her books and things into a pile and set on the bench, she joined them. She sat on the other end of the bench with her books and stuff in between the two of them.

“Yes,” she answered with a nod. “I be okay. Just trip on bench end. Not see it.”

She rolled her eyes at herself as she spoke of what she’d done.

“I name...”

She stopped with a shake of her head. That didn’t sound right at all and she knew it. She was going to try it again.

“My name Adora.”

"Okay. Cool. Good, then. Not in the mood for any kind of hospital trips," he joked, placing the book he'd previously been reading on his lap.

"People call me Alister," he thought it only nice to introduce himself, "pleased to meet you."

oneofmanysouls - January 12, 2006 01:01 AM (GMT)
“No trip hospital,” she said with a smile.

“Nice meet you, Alister.”

She glanced at the book that he’d placed in his lap.

“What you read?” she asked in reference to the book.

((Bleh. Crappy *dies*))

Arcane Blood - January 12, 2006 01:14 AM (GMT)
"Oh, this?" He held up the book and looked at it. "It's, ummm, hm." He had to look at the front of the cover to figure it out, actually. "Firefly. 'S by Piers Anthony." He shrugged. "You read his books?"

oneofmanysouls - January 12, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
She shook her head slightly.

“Not heard of.”

She tilted her head a little so that she could look at the front of the book.

“Any good?”

Arcane Blood - January 12, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
"To be honest... it was kind of putting me to sleep. It's mostly about sex, actually. Someone I work with reccomended it."

Shrug.

"So, reader's digest version: not one of his better works."

oneofmanysouls - January 14, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
She nodded slightly.

“Sound boring.”

Meaning the book of course.

“I like read psychology books. It my major at university.”

Arcane Blood - January 16, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
"Mostly, yes."

Another shrug.

"Sounds nice. At Keation?"

Vague smile. Almost sad.

"D'you like it?"

oneofmanysouls - January 19, 2006 04:07 AM (GMT)
She nodded her head slightly.

“Keaton, yes. I like it much. This second semester there.”

She watched him for a moment.

“Why you look sad?”
