Title: The Falls
Description: Open

The falls were beautiful to look at, especially when the moon was full and the sky was filled with stars; tonight was no exception. The sky was beautiful, if a bit chilly for her daughter, and Julia smiled at her daughter. "Isn't it wonderful, Taylor?" She looked back up at the falls, smiling, as her daughter nodded vigorously.

The falls was the only part of the Hellmann conservation area where one could hearing the roaring of rushing water without it coming from a hose, and they seemed to Julia to be the most beautiful part of the area. Her daughter, Taylor, also seemed to think so.

ooc: No idea what she looks like, so my character is just going to completely fail to notice her, for this post.

ic: It's the full moon.

The wolves are out and about tonight, skulking in the shadows, teeth glittering whitely in the moonlight. They circle the city, their prey, pausing here and there to race, to run, to hunt.

This is their one night of freedom.

This wolf smells something. Someone.

This wolf is going to investigate now.

This wolf has no identity anymore, other than wolf. It has gone the way of the dark of the moon, shed like the fake skin the wolf wears for most of the month.

The wolf howls.

((Try reading the profile.))

Julia's nose caught a whiff of something that smelled terribly like a wolf; her eyes searched the darkness until she found its source. She saw only four of them, but she could smell and hear more. She could get out of this, of course, but she had an eerie feeling that these weren't ordinary wolves. She waited to see what they would do, holding Taylor tightly...

((No thank you, darling, that's not the point of the profile. It's good manners to describe your character, donchaknow. Just a /bit/, maybe?))

The other wolves don't matter to her. They aren't her pack, just some others.

This wolf hunts alone.

The wolf, a female, pads forward slowly. Caught in a splash of moonlight, her fur is silver, her eyes shadowy. Her ears are high - her mood is good. Not an angry wolf. Just focused.

The other wolves circle - this one was here first, so she has first dibs.

Wolves are polite creatures, for a given value of polite.

Her jaw set, her face determined, and her long hair swaying in the wind, Julia leaps into the air - and keeps on going; she has no intention of trying to defend her child against a pack of wolves, whether natural or were. By the time the wolves had reached where she had been only moments earlier, Julia was hovering far above the falls and calming Taylor with her hypnotic eyes; Taylor soon fell asleep, which would make it much easier if she did end up having to fight. For the time being, though, she headed inland to the city of Bayfield...

...floaty fluttery thing!

Like a butterfly!

Time to chase it!

Y'know what?

Beth is such a big puppy sometimes, honestly.

Fluttery thing to chase! Glee!

Julia Sommers - January 9, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
The wolves were now chasing after Julia, but it didn't matter; they were only smelling her child and her own clothes, not her - vampires were dead, and so didn't have a smell - but it was enough. If she could reach the city, however, there would be others to get rid of the damn things. She didn't particularly like wolves, hungry wolves even less, and she wasn't about to offer up her child just to save her own skin. Not that her own skin needed saving, of course; her vampiric healing abilities made sure of that, and the fact that she was immortal.

She could see the city lights ahead; it wouldn't be long now...

Oh, please.

Death has a distinctive smell. Everything has a distinctive smell.

And Beth has a very, very good nose.

Beth's lived here for years now. She knows this city. It's her home.

So tread carefully, hm?
