The pretty ghost moved slowly over the snow, watching as the silver shards fell around her. It was lovely, Christmas time. But she felt lonely, wishing she could spend this time with her boyfriend, of whom was still living. But she did not want to frighten him, she hated to scare anyone. This was part of the reason she stayed hidden from humans a lot of the time. It made her feel terrible to scare anyone .. As if she was a freak, and she were capable of actually harming someone.
Corine sighed, smiling slightly at the sound escaping her lips. Yes, she had learned to speak finally. Thanks to Nicholas. He had spent time teaching her how to use her voice as a ghost, and she had enjoyed learning. At least she felt alittle like a human again ..
Lingering outside of the museum, she gaze up into the pale-grey sky; it was late afternoon, not a time when you expected to see a ghost. Corine still thought very much like a living young woman, why come out only in the night? Although she did not need to sleep, she would usually dissappear into an apartment she had found; it was empty, and the land lord was looking for someone to live in it.
But she did not frighten anyone, only making the occasional sound to keep anyone from purchasing the average-sized apartment. But she was careful, not wanting any spooked people to hire and exorcist or anything ..
Corine sat herself down on the steps of the museum, looking quite solid, save for the strange sort of glow that was about her. Her lovely eyes blinked now and then, and she smiled as a cold snowflake fell gently onto her nose.

Well, Alan isn't afraid of her. (He missed her, kind of, but he's not afraid of her.)
He looks like a spirit himself, these days, with his white skin and white hair and blue eyes. He tries to offset this with color in his wardrobe, but it's hard to find things that don't make him look even paler--if that's possible--or things that make him look even more like a ghost.
It doesn't leave many options, you know?
Anyway. He's wearing a deep blue overcoat and a deeper blue scarf, and black pants, and he was going to go to the museum and wander around for a while, but...
"Oh!"
His face breaks out into a broad smile.
"Hello again."

Corine hadn't brought the rose with her. Unfortuneatly, she had misplaced it .. But she didn't feel too badley about this. And that was quite a good thing. As of late, she had been trying to lighten up. Now that she could speak -- and was getting better -- her mood had been up.
She glanced up when she heard someone approach, she began to instinctivly fade, afraid she'd frighten someone. But instead, she was pleasently surprised to see Alan.
"Hello, Alan! How've you been?" Her voice was so feminine, elegant, and very smooth. But with a strange sort of echo or hum to it. Her words seemed to be whispered very, very, quietly before she actually spoke them. But this was hardly noticeable, and she practiced regularly at diminishing this. The young ghost smiled up at the pale man, happy to see him once again.

He looks a little stunned. She couldn't speak, last time...
(This particular version of looking stunned is consistent with the lovesick type found in fairy tales. I believe he ought to be woken up before he makes a fool of himself, don't you?)
"I've been quite well, actually." He smiles a silly kind of smile and fiddles with something in his pocket. "I didn't know you could speak..."

She grinned, happy to hear that life had treated him alright. The sort of expression that came over his [rather handsome] face caused her to giggle softly, she brought a slender hand over her mouth as she did so.
Corine nodded her head. "I actually met another gentleman ghost, and he was pleased to teach me how," Her ghostly figure rose, and she smiled. "Well? How do I sound?"
SammieK - December 6, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
"Lovely."
He'd turn pink at that, only I'm pretty sure he's not capable of blushing. He doesn't have enough blood, or some such thing.
... a gentleman ghost...?
No, of course Alan isn't jealous. He would be scandalized to hear the word!

"Mhmm, I'm so glad he did. Now I can speak to you."
She reached out a hand and elegantly rested it upon his shoulder. "I'm glad that you came tonight. What should we do? Happy Holidays, by the way." Corine smiled to him, but wondered why he was all alone on a night like this. And not going Christmas shopping? Tsk. She'd be sure to scold him with her lovely voice.

Alan would stammer his defense, in that he has already bought presents for his mother, and who else is he supposed to shop for? (His father is dead, he's an only child, and he has yet to make good friends at the hospital.)
Hm. Maybe he should buy things for the children.
"Um... What would you like to do?"

"Hmm .. We should go somewhere were no one will .. see me. I don't want to scare anyone," For a moment her expression faultered to sorrow, but she quickly was smiling again.
"Why don't we go make a snowman?" Corine clapped her hands together happily.
SammieK - December 11, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
Alan laughed.
"Sure. Let's go to the park and make a snowman."
Because he lives in an apartment, you know, so he doesn't have a yard or a place to put a snowman.
He hasn't been a doctor long enough to buy a big house in the suburbs, you see. He's still paying for all that school.
