Title: Bizarre
Description: for Arc & Kay
Danie - December 2, 2005 02:01 AM (GMT)
Benjamin sat on one of the park benches, a heavy-looking textbook held in his lap. He was looking at it, but not really reading. He'd idly flip a page whenever he felt like it, pausing if there was a diagram or illustration to gaze at, but otherwise uninterested.
Giving a small sigh, he decided to take a break from his pretend-study session, loudly closing the book, and reaching his arms above his head to stretch. The sleeves of his jacket wrinkled uncomfortably, so he adjusted them, frowning in annoyance.
It was a normal, quiet, day...
Yup.
Normal, normal, normal...
Boring.
Kaylee - December 2, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
Nothing can be ever considered normal.
Take this for instance.
It's been snowing lightly, so there is probably roughly an inch or two of snow. Very light and fluffy. But it puts people into good moods, depsite the lack of sun - just the big fluffy white clouds. Jibril for instance, was in an excellent mood. He was grinning and laughing and rolling on the ground. He was dressed 'adorably' as Logan had called it.
Logan happens to be with him, a few feet away - doing what? Jibril can't see at this moment though.
He had a Santa Claus hat on. Red velvet and fluffy white puff around the hat and in a ball on the tip. It was big and floppish, but it was kinda cute on him. He had a lot of red on too. His pants were the same style - but instead of being black, they were a bright crimson color, in fact, they were many shades of red in a camoflauge style. He had a white sweater of sorts on too, big and baggy that reached down past his hips a little. It was a turtleneck style though, so his neck was not exposed to the cold. He had red gloves on, thick and cozy for his delicate fingers. All his peircings were platinum, shining and polished on his face and ears. Pants were tucked in as usual, into big, thick, clunky belted boots.
He was standing up now, laughing and looking around, waiting for Logan to catch up with him. One noticable thing about him was his hair - it was stark white, literaly bleach white. But at the tip area, from about an inch up and all the way down, they were red or green, mixed up in all those curls. Someone is in a celebrating spirit.
He also just happened to spot Benji.
A high pitch whistle to Benji.
"Yo!"
Jibril's grinning and waving. Very good mood. Don't get jealous Logan.
Arcane Blood - December 2, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
Because of the cold weather, Logan had dressed appropriately. He wasn't as noticable as, say, Jibril, but a rather subtle creature in the light of day. He blended in with the slinking shadows against the light of day, offsetting Jibril's festivity completely. Christmas was Logan's least favorite holiday, although he liked the way Jibril was so... happy about it.
Logan's clothes were all black, as usual. Heavy black boots with buckles, baggy black pants with chains, and a black trenchcoat over the thin black shirt with Jibril's name bleached on the front.
He'd made it a point to put an emerald stud in his nose, along with emerald earrings. The rest of his jewely was gold, and he wore subtle red eyeshadow. His hair was left down to hang in his face, but he'd had every few pieces of his hair braided, a red or green rubberband on the end to keep it secure.
Hey, he was at least trying to respect the Christmas spirit, though not as blatantly as his angel.
His pale lips quirked into a smile as he watched Jibril. He trotted towards him to catch up, and stood beside him.
Then he just... well... stopped.
And stared.
And raised an eyebrow. And worriedly looked to Jibril.
Then to Benji.
Then back to Jibril.
And to Benji once more with an even more worried expression.
No, he doesn't know Keye has a twin.
Awkward.
"Uh." Logan tugged on the sleeve of Jibril's sweater.
(Sorry it's... blah.)
Danie - December 2, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
(is not!)
Benji turned his head to look, and returned Jibril's grin and the wave. He suppressed a little snicker, as well.
"Hey."
The day had suddenly ceased to be normal and boring.
"You're lookin' pretty,...festive, aren't you?" he smirked. He was overlooking Logan for the moment, mentally passing him off as 'just some kid'.
Kaylee - December 2, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
"Benji, just 'cause you might not be as into decorations as I am, doesn't mean you need to put me down."
Jibril grinned, waggling his gloved finger at Benji. His eyebrows raised.
"Oh yea!"
He turned to Logan and motioned to Benji, wrapping his arm casually around Logan's shoulder, pulling him up to Benji.
"Logan, this is Benji - we at this club thing, and Benji, this is Logan."
Nothing more said. He just kept his grin on his face. Turthfully though, Christmas nor Winter is his favotie time of the year - in fact, he dreads it. There is just something about it...he can't remember why, but it hurts to think about it - thus the decorations and more than often drinking binges at this time of year. He tries to mask his gloom and forget it.
Arcane Blood - December 2, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
"Er, I- um, what?"
Logan had hardly heard anything Jibril had said. He'd heard two words, faintly. Benji. Club. Nevermind jealous, now Logan was confused. And he certainly didn't like it. Logan was never confused like this, nor nervous like this either. He stood still, trying to hide the frustration, worry, and confusion from his expression, but his face just looked weirdly contorted, mixed between emotions.
"Don't you mean-... Isn't he..."
Keye?
Logan was acting awfully... out of the ordinary.
Danie - December 2, 2005 10:33 PM (GMT)
"Whaaat? I'm not putting you down," Benji grinned. "You look like a candy cane, no offense meant. 'S neat."
(There really is no offence meant - he is only teasing.)
He gave the younger boy a small wave. "Hi, Logan."
Then he tilted his head to one side, his grin fading to a faintly puzzled smile. The look on Logan's face is one that he's beginning to grow familiar with, and he can easily guess what it means.
"You think I'm Keye," he said, almost accusingly. The grin returned in full force. "Well, I'm not."
Kaylee - December 3, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
Jibril was chuckling through the whole thing.
"A candycane? Why I never..."
He just kept on chuckling, roughness sounding oddly like a growling dog chortling. Yea, kinda weird, but it is kinda funny too. He looked down at Logan though, when the other seemed to recognize him - and obviosuly Benji was used to being mistaken for this...Keye person. Which wasn't good, judging by the expressions on Logan's face - Jibril was quick to figure Keye wasn't quite a...friend...of Logan.
Jibril tried to dissmiss it. best not dig into it right now.
"Yea silly, this is Benji, I'm assuming this Keye's brother."
Jib grinned.
"So how've you been?"
(( We should get Tie in here with Keye, that wold be rather funny I do declare, maybe someone else too... ))
Arcane Blood - December 3, 2005 02:54 PM (GMT)
"You're... not?" Something like reassurance spilled over his features, but then he gave a tight smile. His brother. His brother. Alexander never said anything about touching any of Keye's brothers, did he...?
But... Jibril seemed so friendly with him. That meant he was off limits.
Sucks.
But, then he realized, that it was more than bad.
Benji didn't seem to recognize him. Jibril didn't know what he did to Keye. Benji was Jibril's friend, apparently, and Benji would have more than a fit if he knew who Logan was. Jibril would also be upset with him if he knew what he did to Benji's brother.
Sucks!
"...oh."
"Uhm, 'kay. Hi Benji, then." He gave a weak wave.
He was fine, right. Benji had no clue who he was, right?
Right?
(Hee. Totally. We should /totally/ get Tie to drag Keye in here.)
Danie - December 3, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
"Oh,...not bad. Studying for exams," Benji said, showing them the book, then setting it down. He smirked. "Sort of, anyway. Nothing interesting."
He turned his gaze from Jibril to Logan.
"So, how d'you know him? Keye, I mean."
(Heee, yes. I'll PM her and ask.)
Kaylee - December 3, 2005 03:29 PM (GMT)
"Mm. I see."
Jibril was dividing his attentions between looking at Logan and looking at Benji. He couldn't turn both eyes in different directions. He simply hugged Logan to his body. He was being a good boy. Jibril smiled fondly down at him. then turned to Benji when the other asked and then back down at Logan. Oh shit.
Please make a good lie.
Arcane Blood - December 3, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
What a bad question to ask, Benji.
He smiled faintly, though.
"He's... well, I met him a while ago. He let me into his apartment. He said he liked games."
That wasn't a lie at all. It just wasn't the truth, you see.
He looked up at Jibril.
That was a rather flimsy lie, wasn't it? Though, in its entirety, it wasn't technically a lie.
Cagey Tiger - December 4, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
Keye wandered through the park, the tip of his nose flushed with the cold, mirrored sunglasses reflecting the snow on the ground. He had his hands deep in the pockets of a warm-looking coat (Alexander had insisted), and was walking with a jaunty step, singing 'I Shot the Sherrif' under his breath.
Well, he was.
Then he caught sight of the lovely little scene, Jibril, Benji, and...Logan.
"Holy mother of g--!" issued from his lips as he slipped, arms windmilling, and went down in the snow with quite a commotion.
Danie - December 4, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
Benji looked at Logan strangely, though still smiling.
"Yeah?...Heh. That's kind of a funny thing to--"
Keye's sudden exclamation and collapse drew Benji's attention. His smile brightened and he really did try not to laugh.
"Hey! Speak of the devil, and he shall appear," Benji chuckled, standing and taking a hesitant step towards his twin. "...You okay?"
Kaylee - December 5, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Jibril was caught in inner turmoil. Ohshitohshitohshitohshit.
Fuck, this is probably not good, is it?
Jibril watched with big eyes as Benji's look alike stumbled into the scene, emmiting a cry and then...well...falling. He looked down to Logan than to Benji who was absolutely oblivious to everything, to the fallen figure of Keye and then to Logan. He leaned close to Logan, mouth next to the boy's ear.
"This isn't a good thing, is it?"
He needed a beer. Now. Several beers in fact.
Arcane Blood - December 5, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
Logan's face paled considerably, if that was even possible. His skin was already so white it was hard to tell the difference. But he did take a step back or two.
"No," he whispered back, his voice very, very cold.
This was the general affect he had on his victims, not the other way around.
"Jib... I... sorry."
He couldn't move. He just stood there, looking at Keye and Benji. Gods, they looked too much alike.
Cagey Tiger - December 5, 2005 12:50 AM (GMT)
Keye sat on the ground for a moment, staring around at those assembled, horror in his eyes. Then his brows snapped together, he lurched forward to his feet, and...
Watch in wonder, children, because Keye's usual instinct is to get the hell away.
...he ran at Logan.
Danie - December 5, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
There was a moment in which Benji just stared. Then he made a motion as if to catch Keye - and then he didn't, dropping his hands to his sides and pulling away. Because Keye didn't like being touched, he remembered,.. and Benji didn't know what was going on anyway.
...maybe it was just a really enthusiastic greeting...?
Kaylee - December 5, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
Jibril knew it wasn't that.
After all the fights he'd been in, watching all these humans, and being around humans for so long. He knew what an attack was. Instincts immediately kicked in. He shoved Logan, practically lifting him up, out of the way and behind him.
Then he turned and met Keye.
Keye was quick but would never be a match to Jibril's speed or strength. Jibril's arms caught Keye, and he forced the other's arms down against his body, and locked him against his own. Arms wrapped around the other despite the height difference. Size never really matters, race does.
"Don't!"
The only warning Jibril can muster. His voice was more like a growl, rough, deep, and inhuman. Keye can't fight him. He shouldn't, too dangerous. Jibril didn't expect the other to run at Logan, thus instincts taken over; Keye struggles, he could get killed.
Jibril's pupils have narrowed, like a cat's, green eyes shining like a light and disturbingly pointy canines bared. Who thought he could ever be ferocious? Keye should be mildly uncomfortable - Jibril's grip is tight and strong, any tighter and Keye's bones will break.
Arcane Blood - December 5, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
Logan stumbled backwards after he was set down and/or shoved, trying to regain his balance. It was all as if a blur, everything happening at once. Logan had never felt this dizzy and this rock solid at the same time.
"Don't hurt him!" Logan managed to hiss through his teeth at Jibril in a sort of quick warning. Jibril was defending him, and Logan was warning him not to hurt Keye?
Stupid. So stupid.
Unless you take into consideration he clearly remembered what happened to him when Alex had found out he had harmed 'his son'.
Bother.
Confused yet, Benji?
Cagey Tiger - December 10, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Keye's attention was not on Logan, or he might have noticed the oddness in the statement. However, his attention was focused entirely on Jibril.
"Eat shit. That's my brother." he snarls (referring to his discomfort with Logan's proximity to Benji). Keye can be rather ferocious as well, and unfortunately, when he gets this way, very little goes through his head in regard to his own safety.
Using Jibril's inhuman strength to hold him up, he lifted both his feet off the ground and stomped down with all the force in his body on (or in the general direction of) Jibril's insteps.
Danie - December 11, 2005 04:02 AM (GMT)
"What the...?"
Benji, for his part, figured out too late that this was not an enthusiastic greeting or anything of the sort. It would be more than fair to say that he hadn't the faintest idea of what was going on.
That didn't stop him from trying to break up the fight, however. He moved towards Jibril and Keye, closed a hand on each of their shoulders, and tried his best to force them apart.
"Hey, guys, come off it! Now!"
Well, he gets points for effort...
Kaylee - December 11, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
Jibril's pupils were now hardl much more than thin slits. It took all of his will power not to attack Benji. What he did do, instead, was wrap one hand around Keye's neck. Pressure points /AND/ strangulation anyone? The other's grabbed the hands of the boy, near cruishing them without breaking anything. Yet.
His arms were shaking, but did not loose any bit of their strength, he was on the edge of his will. All the things he wanted to do to /someone/ were trying to come out. Now do you know why he drinks and smokes? Besides unpleasant things he doesn't want to remember, those items make him unable to grasp reality firmer. He is unable to react well, and while his strength is the same, he constantly feels weak.
They are like surpressors.
Jibril wasn't saying anything. He wasn't doing anything more than what he was doing. The only movement that was going on, was in his head.
Arcane Blood - December 11, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
"Stop it Jibril! Stop!"
Then Logan did something very... un-Loganlike and tried to pry Keye off of Jibril, and Jibril off of Keye.
"Stop hurting him!"
And there was a force between them that wasn't visible to the human eye (or any eye, rather) that was trying to push them apart as well.
Rawr.
Cagey Tiger - December 14, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
Keye...well, there isn't much to say about Keye. He was being strangled.
He did things that people being strangled tend to do, like choking, turning a deep reddish-purple color, and thrashing wildly and trying to get loose.
The look in his eyes was one of mingled terror and incoherent rage.
I wouldn't trust him near any weapons right now.
Danie - December 14, 2005 11:44 AM (GMT)
Seems those two are rather difficult to separate, aren't they?
Benji didn't get truly alarmed until Keye started turning that peculiar color. Initially, he'd been on Jibril's side - Keye had started it. This was going a bit too far, though. Benji, himself, wasn't normally a violent person (if you don't count video games), but...
Jibril. Was. Choking. His. Brother.
So Benj piles in on the rather one-sided fight, attacking Jibril.
Kaylee - December 17, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
Well, this was turning out odd. Before Benji could launch his attack on Jibril though, something clicked in Jibril's mind and he threw - threw - Keye at Benji, doubling over afterwards. His hands were gripping his shoulders and his whole body was shaking. It wasn't that he was unused to killing that disgusted him, it was the fact the he enjoyed it.
He's gasping, and obviously about to cry, judging by his watering and reddening eyes.
Arcane Blood - December 18, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
By this point, Logan wasn't sure what to think. Truth be told, he wasn't thinking.
"Jibril!"
There was an obvious urgent and distressed tone to his voice.
"Stay.the.fuck.AWAY.FROM.HIM!" He barked at Benji, who was going to be knocked down by Keye in a second.
"Jibril... Jib..."
He slid in where Keye once was and put his arms around Jibril, pulling him close.
No, no, no...
Cagey Tiger - December 23, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
Keye wasn't thinking clearly enough to feel any sympathy or concern for either Jibril or Logan...and even if he had been thinking clearly, he probably wouldn't have anyway.
He slammed into his brother (or the ground, whichever came first), scrambled to his feet, and...rushed Logan again.
Danie - December 23, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
The landing - and having Keye land on him - was enough to keep Benji from getting up right away. It was hard for him to figure out what to do when he was trying to remember how to breathe properly, and figure out just what the hell was going on, all at once.
Kaylee - January 19, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
(( OOC: If ya don't wanna keep this topic going, just lemme know, but I decided to get this over with since I am in a posting mood. ))
Again?
Keye is rushing Logan again?
There is nothing else he can do.
Ever seen that one movie where there is a guy running and turns a corner, when a guy's arm (or a frying pan or something) whips out and knocks 'em in the face, knocking them out?
That's sort of what happening right now, with Jibril's arm swinging and connecting with Keye's face.
Oh.
Ow.
That might leave some bruises.
Arcane Blood - January 19, 2006 11:33 PM (GMT)
That was enough to make Logan's anger flare up again.
Forget the fact that Keye had been rushing Logan...
"Stop it, Jibril!" That's enough!"
His hands clenched into fists.
"Keye, God damn it..."
((Grawr. Horrible post. My apologies.))
Cagey Tiger - January 21, 2006 02:47 PM (GMT)
Keye's head snapped back, and his feet slid from under him. He twisted as he fell (he was already thinking of how to get up fastest) and ended up at a diagonal to Logan and Jibrin, facefirst on the ground with his hands under him. He was about to spring to his feet when Logan spoke, but when he heard that voice, he just twisted his head to look at the kid, his face streaming blood from where Jibril had hit him.
"God damn it what?" he snarled. On his feet again in an instant, he repeated, "God damn it WHAT?!"
And now, his shoulders slumped but his right arm held shakily out in front of him, he pointed a gun at Logan's face.
(The gun, as usual, is not loaded. But no one knows that.)
Danie - January 21, 2006 04:02 PM (GMT)
"Whoa - whoa!" Benji, who had just struggled to his feet, froze.
That's a gun...ohmigod...
(Brilliant observation, Benji).
"Keye... hey,... put that down, alright?" he coaxed, but with a certain underlying sternness, "And after that..."
He chewed on his lip for a moment before finally exploding.
"And after that, will someone PLEASE tell me just what the fuck is going on?!"
Kaylee - January 21, 2006 04:40 PM (GMT)
A gun indeed.
But Jibril is not afraid of guns. He's afraid of rejection and abandon. Emotional fears, never physical. He simply turns, and stands directly in front of Logan, staring blankly at Keye. Its that blank look that makes him so...frightening. Its hollow and blank and its as if he's staring into your soul.
He's not afraid of this.
"I don't know what is going on Benji."
Deep, gravely monotone voice, thick with his Arabian accent. His expression is blank and yet frowning at the same time. Its obvious in his voice and blank expresion. He's dissapointed. He's dissapointed that this turned out to be this way. He's dissapointed in Logan and the fact he hurt this Keye. He's dissapointed that Keye can't control himself. And he's dissapointed that he and Benji will never really be able to be friends.
"Maybe Logan or..." What was his name again? Oh yea. "Keye can tell us."
He then truly frowned.
"Though I don't think I really want to know."
Arcane Blood - January 21, 2006 08:16 PM (GMT)
Keye and Logan have been through this before, haven't they? The whole gun thing, that is.
"Jibril."
Just his name, spoken firmly in a commanding voice.
"Get out of the way."
He bit his lip, shifting his weight. He took a step forward so that Jibril was behind him now. He was closer to the gun now.
"Is... this what you really want?" He was asking Keye.
"An eye for an eye?" Benji should get the point, maybe.
"I don't care. Just don't fucking touch my angel."
Was he actually... starting to cry?
"Do it."
Slumped shoulders.
Crying, in fact, he was.
Cagey Tiger - January 21, 2006 08:30 PM (GMT)
The gun was shaking wildly in his hand, and he lifted his other to steady it; that didn't help much. Even at this range, there was some doubt as to whether he could even hit Logan.
"W-what're you trying to do, anyways? Guilt me into g-going away?"
He sounded less and less certain. He's still boiling over with anger, fear, remembered pain...but he's never been able to really hate anyone, especially not a child. Over a child's head hung the shadow of redemption, and Keye couldn't make himself lash out.
No matter how much Logan deserved a good pistol-whipping.
"My brother's here. I d-don't want...want that to happen to him. If I d-do something...I c-could kill you...if I d-do, you d-deserve that, did you know that?"
Danie - January 21, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
"Keye..."
Benji was hesitant to approach, but did anyway. He came from behind, making certain Keye heard him coming. He didn't want to startle him into pulling the trigger.
"Keye, put that down, okay?... Okay?"
He was confused - really, really confused now. No one was listening to him, yet somehow he got the impression that he was what they were fighting over. Why, he didn't know.
Kaylee - January 21, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
Jibril opened his mouth but immediately shut it, he couldn't protest against Logan, but he couldn't let Logan just do something like that either! It was horrible. But he just stood there, behind Logan, and looking like a kicked puppy.
"If you are looking to punish him..." His gaze bore directly into Keye's face. "Someone's already beat you to that."
Arcane Blood - January 21, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
Logan looked sort of grim, but the tears clashed with the look. Then he just looked sort of morose. He swallowed and nodded.
"Y-yeah. I get it, Keye. I get it."
He couldn't bring himself to look at Jibril, so he looked down at the groun.
"'m... sorry... Jibril... and Keye... 'n Benji." He was sorry, but he didn't want forgiveness. Didn't expect it.
"Just do it."
