The click of heels on polished floors (be they wooden or marble or something else entirely) might be a cliched sound, but in the theatre, of all places, that was quite appropriate.

A tiger cannot be discreet, per se, but it can slink along. She had that appeal to her as she moved along the corridors. The theatre proper was entertaining, but she liked to sort through other people's backrooms. Those were the unkempt, catch-all rooms that held the secrets and the little messes no one wanted revealed.

Vivica had been informed that there might be some disturbance in the theatre. One of the cast members for one of the upcoming performances had been injured, and there was suspicion of foul play. The fact that there had been minor squabbling reported among some of that same cast leant an interesting colouring to the story, and she had decided hanging about might give her opportunity to explore the alleged drama offstage.

Now all she needed was a foot in the door.

There was a play, or a dress rehearsal that was open to the public, at least, in an hour. That gave her just enough time to snoop without too much disturbance.

Straightening her simple suit jacket about her shoulders, she smoothed the black skirt down to her knee and slipped around the corner to poke through another set of rooms, camera tucked into her purse.

Dave's footfalls are quiet. This is mostly due to his penchant for wearing soft-soled, black tennis shoes. It is also due to the fact that he's developed a certain grace, when here in his own domain. (Yes, his domain. No matter what Asher thinks.)

His voice is not.

"Hey! What're you doing in here?"

His arms are folded across a nicely muscled chest clad in a black t-shirt. His black-jean clad legs are planted like a miniature and snub-nosed collossus. (He would argue the snub-nosed bit.)

His hair is curly, in need of cutting. His eyes are dark.

So is his scowl.

Her hand had been removing her camera from her purse, but she lets the device slide from her fingers and sink back into the chic bag as he speaks out. Hmmm... Unexpected company... Maybe he can be useful.

"Looking for the ladies' room. The theatre is so confusing, you know?"

Looking about, she catches sight of some canvas and curtain through one of the doors.

"Although... it seems I've gotten lost in a rather intriguing place. Does the theatre offer 'behind-the-scenes' tours?"

Alright, the stance and the subtle lashbatting are obviously a ploy. The sad thing is, sometimes it works... He is handsome, though...

"Are you one of the actors in tonight's performance?" She lets her eyes take him in for a moment. "You have a proprietary look about you, though, a leading actor, perhaps?"

Hey, a little flattery never hurt anyone...

SammieK - October 19, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
"Not that confusing, no, we don't, and fuck no, I'm not an actor. Tech only, thanks. The ladies' room is that way, and try not to touch anything on your way out."

Blunt lad.

Also, Vivica, dear, I hate to break it to you, but he just recently broke up with his girlfriend of... goodness, nearly a year. He's not in the mood to become reattached to anyone else.

He waits, arms folded, for her to leave.

Mashiara - October 19, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
Oh, no, no - goodness, no! You don't understand. Vivica doesn't get 'attached'. Just that those who know they are handsome tend to bite the flattery hook more than any other type... She uses people as means to an end. Business, purely. Of course... with that sort of attitude he might be more difficult to manipulate... What a bother...

Blunt she can handle.

"Tech, hm? Lighting? That's fascinating, actually. So you would be familiar with the lighting for each production, the lenses... You would know what sort of filters and lenses were being used, right?"

Stepping towards him a bit, but only a step or two, she interlocked her fingers and held them in front of her casually.

"Or was it 'stage technician' that you meant? That would explain the proprietary look, wouldn't it?"

She smiled in a friendly fashion.

Vivica might not get 'attached,' but Dave does. Sometimes.

And that is the kind of flattery he gets hooked by.

"Lights and sound, mostly. Usually run the light board, but I can do sound in a pinch. Also I build sets... Guess I'm kind of a jack-of-all-trades."

He shrugs. He smiles. It's a small smile, but there's a little boy quality to it that makes him, in general, adorable.

Flattery will get you everywhere. You just have to find the right sort.

Tipping her head to the side, she nods.

"Really? What tricks might you have up your sleeve for tonights performance, hm? Crew work is interesting - but you sound as though you work with the two most difficult areas. The thing that really makes or breaks any sort of production is the timing of the special affects... In my opinion, at least... Say..."

She looked as though she had just had a thought... And she had, but a few moments before she decided to show an open reaction.

"You wouldn't have everything back here, would you? All the... Oh, what is it called..."

She put a hand to her temple, trying honestly (oh, wow) to remember...

"They are slides, almost, that go over lenses... And they are used for moving displays. There is a name for them, and I think they are mainly for the smaller millimeter lights... Moving lights, primarily... Ooh, what are they called. Do you know what I'm talking about?"
