Title: Returning to Earth
ABloodyRose - October 5, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
It was in an undisturbed area of the Hellmann Conservation Area that it happened. A lone, black rose wafted from the sky and rested on a patch of earth that had rarely felt the presence of even a cockroach. Barely a second after it hit the ground, a purple, mercury-like substance seeped from between the petals and ran in rivulets on top of the dirt. After a moment, it flowed into one stream and formed the silhouette of a slender young woman. Another minute, and it was a three-dimensional shape, and then, an actual woman. Long, shiny black hair fell to her waist and framed a pale, luminous face. Dressed in a black lace ballgown, she looked as if she came from another era. The only thing modern about her was a leather bag tied around her waist. She lay there for a moment before getting up on her feet, her large, violet eyes taking in the scene around her.
"Things have changed, I see."
Her gown glowed purple, and quickly metamorphsized into a sleek black business suit, the bag still around her waist. She walked a ways through the woods until she could see the buildings of the city. "Hmph, THIS is where I must live until I take my place in the sisterhood?" Taking another look around, she let out a heavy sigh. "I sense other non-humans......but it's predominately unitiate. Oh well, I guess the world will just have to deal with Avelie Vartanian, novice sister of the moon......."

What scary things could be stalking the night... it's a frightening thought, almost. Tonight it's just paranoia, however. Majick is neither scary nor stalking anything, he just feels at peace when he's with nature. His white-blond hair fell into his pristine blue eyes that watched something not too far off. His too long slender fingers brushed strips of blond hair away from his pale skin and he sighed.
The soft crunching of twigs could be heard in the almost silence, and Majick could hear some voices. This night he was clothed in black, a longsleeved shirt that was too big as well as jeans that didn't fit him.
"Hello?" The timid voice of the angel called. "Is anybody out there?"
ABloodyRose - October 8, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
Avelie materialized in front of Majik, catching him off-guard. "Hmm...a local." Her violet gazed focused on his face, giving the impression she was analyzing every bit of his soul. "Just my luck, the first person I meet is an angel." Her eyes trailed downward, not stopping at any particular spot for too long, until they reached the ground, at which point she resumed glaring at his face. "And a scruffy one as well...."
At that time, a clearing in the overcast sky passed by the moon, revealing it to be full. Silvery light shone through the trees over Avelie and Majik. When it hit Avelie's bag, it began to glow dark purple, and then, a dark red. Dark liquid seeped through the bottom, dripping on to the ground and killing any plants in its way. Avelie paled at the sight."It's too soon......" Her attention snapped back to Majik. "Angel, do you know of a place nearby where I keep get this out of the moonlight?"
Arcane Blood - November 17, 2005 12:30 AM (GMT)
"Excuse me?" Majick took a step back, some-what frightened. "Is there something wrong?" He took another step back for good measure, his blue eyes turning sad with a hint of shock in them.
"A place... out of the moonlight?" He asked her, frowning. His brows furrowed. "I don't know."
He slunk further back from Avelie. "Perhaps you... should bury it?" he suggested.
ABloodyRose - November 17, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
"No, it is far too valuable to be discarded like trash." Avelie stared him down again. Though she exuded an icy air of confidence, there was obvious fear in her eyes. The light radiating from her bag had grown stronger, the drips more frequent. She looked at the moon, said a quick prayer, and tightly grabbed the bottom of the bag to prevent it from leaking further.
"Forgive me for making such a demand," she continued "But I will need to take this somewhere else, most likely inside a building and away from others, in order to fix the situation. It has been in the moon too long for me to fix it here. Since I have only just arrived here, could you show me to such a building? I will return the favor, I promise."
Arcane Blood - November 30, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
Majick looked more fearful than her, I'm sure. He bit his lip. "What do you mean? Do you wish for me to show you to... my home? Or simply any building?"
(Oh goodness. I'm sorry for the delay in posting once again, and the shortness of the post.)
ABloodyRose - November 30, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
(Don't worry: My last post probably didn't allow for much of a response, and I haven't been on much either.)
"Your home...might be easier....since there would be less people there who might see...Though....I don't want to be a burden..."
Avelie's face grew paler as she spoke. She slumped to her knees, trying to avoid the liquid streaming onto the ground from the mystery object. "I'll be okay...I'm just using more energy...than I'm used to...in order to keep this," she said with a nod to her bag, "from causing more problems." She looked up at Majik, her eyes revealing a good deal of pain. "Lead the way....angel..."

"I- uh," he was hastily thinking about Jesse, the disagreeable (though lovable) teen whom he had chosen to guard. He hoped he was at work, or asleep. He'd freaked out when he found out Majick was an angel. He'd freak out even more so if he brought home some stranger with an object seeming to ooze mysterious liquid. Despite his better instincts, Majick decided he'd bring her to Jesse's apartment, just for a while to get whatever it was she was holding out of the moonlight. "Okay," he reluctantly agreed.
"Let me help you. Put your arm over my shoulder... it'll help you walk."
ABloodyRose - December 1, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
She glared at him, her eyes narrowing as if the thought of being assisted to walk was beneath her. She slowly stood up on her own, and wobbled a few steps. "I should be fine...." After a few moments of extremely slow going, her knees buckled and she fell into a heap.
"Maybe I should take up your offer...." Avelie slowly got back up, limped back to Majick, and gingerly placed her free arm around his shoulder. "This isn't...a ploy...to get close to me...is it?" She gave him a weak smile. "Regardless...don't get us killed...and don't touch the bag...if you want to see the sun again..."
Arcane Blood - December 1, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
He returned the smile as she put her arm around his shoulder. They went at a faster pace now, and Majick didn't mind the extra weight of Avelie's, since she looked to need support.
"No, I'm afraid not," he replied softly, a hint of a smile even in his voice.
"Is this truly a life or death matter?" He gently quirked an eyebrow, continuing on the path to the way out of the woods.
ABloodyRose - December 1, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
"Yes...As you had noticed...the liquid is higly corrosive and destructive...at least in that state..." She let out a sigh audible to only her. "If it was to flow freely...the chaos that would ensure...would be...appalling...That's why I...we...need to hurry...If we can get there quickly...I can...take care of it...."
A thick cloud seemed to materialize out of nowhere and passed over the moon. The glow of the bag begun to dull, and the liquid's flow begun to curb. Avelie smiled again, this time much wider. "That was lucky...now there will be more time..." She looked over at Majick. "I will explain...more...about this...when we get to...wherever it is you're taking me....Please hurry..."
Arcane Blood - December 1, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
"Gods... and... why..." he didn't finish the sentence. Instead he shook his head and continued forward.
"Yes, it was lucky."
He picked up the pace, cutting through a path. They appeared on a sidewalk, and Majick hurried across the empty street.
"As you wish. It's not far from here."
ABloodyRose - December 2, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
She nodded and sighed. "Never expected...my first night back on Earth...to be like this..." She summoned up all her strength and tried to walk faster, now that her focus didn't have to be as centered on the bag and its contents. "I apologize...for the inconvenience...of this. I'm usually not such a weakling."
She smelled the faint odor of charred flesh coming from her side. Looking down, she noticed the liquid was now burning her hand. Nice. she thought, Oh, well, it shouldn't be too bad. Maybe no one will notice.
(Are we going to continue this in another section of the forum? If so, do you want to start a new thread or should I?)

((Yeah. Um, in apartment buildings and houses. Would you mind starting? *puppydog eyes.*))
