Title: Smile, demon.
Description: -For Jolee. <3

It's a fairly sunny day. Something attracts strange looks and heavy stares.

He walks the streets of the city, offering a smile and a wave to everyone who passes by him. He's no different than anyone else. He treats everyone equally.

His hair, an ugly sable color, fell into his gray eyes. Gray like the sky on a very rainy day and murky like dirty pond water. His skinny frame wasn't clothed in much; a thin cotton shirt that hung off his boddy and was ripped at the back. Black obsidian seemed to poke out from his spine. A tail appeared to be coming through his jeans. Crooked horns made him a hard creature to miss.

He was simply strolling the sidewalk in his bare feet, humming something very softly.

Smile, demon, smile...

Feet pounded against the sidewalk. Reagan was out on her daily jog to keep her in shape for her gymnastics. If she gained anymore weight she could possibly be cut from the team and that was the last thing she wanted.

She was on her second mile as she continued on her normal path through the city. The small girl wore one of her old blue leotards that had white stripes going down each side. The blue accented her sapphire eyes nicely. The sleeves were white as well and fit nicely to her thin frame. For pants she had her normal gray jogging sweat pants. Hair was pulled back into a pony tail as best as it could be; tight ebony curls bouncing each time a foot hit pavement.

A slight sweat was starting to work its way onto her face by the time she passed the demon walking blissfully along the sidewalk. Wait a minute. A demon?!

Coming to a halt she turned back around and did basically a double take. The man couldn’t be anything other than that. What gave it away? How about the horns and the tail coming from his pants. Those seemed like logical demon qualities. Of course she was starting to learn about the magical world so the information was quite fresh in her mind.

”Hey. What are you doing walking out here where people can see you?” Most of the town she presumed to be unknowing of the magical world. So what was he doing out here in the middle of the day? She walked up beside him and looked him over.

"I shouldn't be?" Cerberus looked hurt, if only slightly. He frowned, looking contrite for a sin that he did not know he was committing. His fingers picked at his frayed pockets and he looked down at the girl sadly.

"Why?" Such innocence, like a little child.

”I don’t know. I thought you couldn’t, you know, show yourself in front of unny’s, unner…un…oh drat. What are people called that don’t know about magic?” She couldn’t even remember what the uneducated people were called. She was so new to the magical world herself.

Dang it. It looks like she hurt his feelings without even meaning to. Wait to go Reagan.

”Well I guess you can. I just thought you weren’t supposed to.” A water bottle that she had been carrying in her hand in case she got thirsty was opened and drank so she could keep herself from saying anything else that might offend him.

"Unn... what?" Cerberus looked to be quite confused by this. "There's a term for..." Cerberus' brows crinkled in severe frustration of trying to think about this. It just wasn't processing through his child-like mind. "People don't know about magic?" An eyebrow was raised. That seemed... crazy! How could someone not know about magic?

Sigh. He was all confused now.

"My name's Cerberus." He said after a moment, deciding the previous subject was too confusing to think about.

She stopped chugging water and put the lid back on the bottle.

”Most people don’t. I mean I didn’t know until about two months ago.” She did notice his frustration. Oops. Didn’t mean to do that either. This was just as perplexing to her that a demon didn’t know about this and that some people weren’t supposed to know about magic.

”I’m Reagan.” Did I mention she has an Irish accent? Even more heavy than her brother’s.

”So….you really didn’t know that most of this city doesn’t know about magic?” Voice was curious and at the same time puzzled. He didn’t seem like the joking type though.

"Well, not until just now, no. Now I feel stupid." He looked slightly embarrassed, a touch of red showing on his deathly pale skin.

"Pleased to meet you, Reagen." he said politely.

”You’re not stupid. Just think of it as like the opposite for me. I thought magic didn’t exist until a few months ago. And you thought that everybody knew about magic until now.” She was grinning from ear to ear to hopefully cheer him up.

”Please to meet you as well.”

His face twisted into a grin. It looked funny and awkward on his pale face and blue lips.

"I guess I'll have to hide this stuff from now on... hm?" He was mocking himself.

”Well I guess it depends. I mean it looks like you’ve been doing alright just walking around.” She put her hands in to her pockets after throwing her empty bottle away in a nearby trashcan.
