She’d had enough. The little 12 year old was tired of being stuck in the house all day and decided to leave since Gregory was not home. Alyssa walked down Elm Street. It was around one in the afternoon and the feeling of being out of the house even for a little while was relaxing.

Wearing her normal attire of white slightly baggy overalls, white t-shirt and white tennis shoes, she looked through windows to see what interesting things the stores has to offer. Of course she didn’t have any money but there wasn’t any harm in looking now was there? Straight blonde hair fell loosely behind her head; deep blue eyes expressed how thrilled she was to be out and about. It was the first time she’d ever actually done something that wasn’t allowed and it was actually kind of exhilarating. It wasn’t like she was completely disobeying. After all she was walking Casey who was now quite a bit bigger than when she first got the puppy.

And so the girl continued looking in the shops curiously for a time while many strangers stopped and petted the excited puppy, stubby tail wagging furiously behind her.

Vincent lit a ciggerett as he walked elm street. He stuck out, but still, people minded their own business. If anyone cared to notice as he walked the strap that led under his long coat on the back theyw ould see a shotgun, loaded, ready to fire. He was walking nowhere in particular, but was deep in thought. He needed a new job, to start over, bodyguard is one thing, but hitman wasn't one of the best of his life decisions. Blood money isn't the best to carry. He was good at what he did though, and unfortunatly his only real skill was aim, fire. dead. Vincent took another puff of his ciggerett, and stopped to take a look at a few shops. Not much. While he looked he felt something against his leg, looked over and noticed a dog sniffing wildly at his pantleg. Vincent couldn't help but pet the dog, one thing he did like; actually, about the only animal he liked. He looked to the girl behind him, small, looked about 11-12. Not the sort he was really around unless hired to protect them.
Vincent didn't take his eyes off the girl, she looked familiar, of course vincent had worked for the wealthy parents of many girls her age, so it was probably nothing.
" hey there." vincent never talked to his clients, in fact, he usually never talked, so it was odd that HE was actually stopping to talk to ANYONE, but there was something about htis girl.
(Sorry for the crap post, but I'm rushing it, after it I have another board I have to get to, next one will be better if you dont' mind me joining)

((Nope. Don’t mind you joining at all. : ) ))

Ally turned back to Casey to see a man petting her. She offered a half smile to him as he said hello. Not very many people talked to her and, like him, it was a rarity for her to talk at all to anyone in return.

”Hello.” Perhaps it wasn’t as a break through to him that she was talking as he knew nothing about her, but for the nurses at the doctor’s office they might just fall over and collapse if they heard her say ‘hello’ back to them. She hadn’t even said hello to Zoe that first time she met her. Of course that was when the Old Gregory was in play. This new Gregory was odd and for some reason she felt less control from him that the last one, though she should have more fear. But for some reason she wasn’t and she didn’t know why. It was an unexplainable feeling. No doubt the other Ally liked playing with him.

”Her names Casey.” A calm tone in her voice spoke to the man as she gestured to her puppy.

Vincent flicked his ciggarrett into the street. A nasty habit, but it was harder and harder to quite as time went by. However, he could show some self-control when around a child.
"Casey huh. My name's Vincent, and what about you?" Vincent watched her while he pet the dog. Still, something bothered him. Wheather it was the girl, or the street they were on, or the fact that he hadn't talked to anyone in ages, but nevertheless something didn't feel right. Even thought it was broad daylight, even though she was a little girl, even though he had a shotgun at the ready. It was unexplainable. Vincent, however waited for her reply. Maybe if he bought some time it would come to him.

”Alyssa.” She could sense that something was bothering him. Picking up on other’s feelings came with the healing process. She didn’t want to make them uncomfortable and the little girl and learned to pick up on different emotions through body language whether the other thought they were expressing it or not.

Ocean blue eyes looked him over some. He seemed to stand out from the other grown ups that passed by. They were all dressed in work clothes or on breaks while this guy definitely didn’t look like he was going to work or on a lunch break.

However her curiosity didn’t stick with her for long as she looked back at the window and looked at the displays while he continued petting the dog. Perhaps if she didn’t look at him it wouldn’t bother him so much.

"Alyssa. I like that name." Vincent still was buying time. One thing that stuck out in his mind was her eyes, ocean blue. He liked that it gave people, well, depth.
She turned to the shop windows again, and vincent stood up. Perhaps he'd feel better about the money he held, or at least as good as it can get it being what he called blood money, if he spent it on someone else.
"something in there you want?" he said this more out of curiosity, but he had more than enough money to keep himself alive, so if he was going to buy time, why not?"I've got enough, if you want."

Indeed it was a kids clothing store and she would give anything to get out of white clothing, but no doubt if he bought her something it would only cause Gregory to ask questions as she didn’t have any money and wasn’t supposed to have colored clothes.

”No. I was just looking.” Which was all she could ever do while she lived with Gregory. It made her mad that she couldn’t do what she wanted to with him around, but it wasn’t like she had somewhere else to go. And after five years of remaining under his ever changing roofs it was hard to think of running away or doing anything else.

"Your sure?" Vincent looked a bit surprised, everytime he had a client they wouldn't shut up about what they wanted. I guess I'm just stressed out Vincent decided that was what he was feeling, but he actually didn't believe it. So there he was, standing there, big guy with a shotgun concealed, standing next to a 12 year old little girl and her dog. That made a hell of a lot a sense to him.

Well, he needed to do something, " Do you usually walk alone?"
THis was a real question however. Vincent decided that if something was going to happen, it would have happened. As for the girl, she seemed normal, but different from all the clients he's had. I guess that's it. oh well.

foreverchanging - August 28, 2005 04:44 PM (GMT)
”Yes I’m sure.” She looked back at him when he asked if she usually walked alone. ”Yes. But I’m not completely alone. I’ve got Casey.” Plus another half that will take over within should trouble arise. Ally was definitely not a normal child, but most didn’t pay attention to it as she did look normal on the outside.

”Why?” She was curious to know why he wanted to know if she walked alone.

"Well," vincent said giveing the dog Casey another pet," When I was your age, I wasn't allowed to be out alone, well of course I lived differently...come to think of it, I was hardly out at all." witch was true, but that was a different conversation.
" I guess it just seems odd to me, but then again, I hardly pay attention to the other people most times." Vincent shook his head," sorry, I do that sometimes. Even in company i've had an unhealthy habit of talking more to myself."

Vincent stood up once more, though he knew he shouldn't around a child, lit a ciggerett. However, he made sure smoke would not bother her," sorry, that is another unhealthy habit of mine." Vincent looked back to her," mind if I walk with you a little bit? I've nowhere to go anyway." that however was a complete lie, in fact, he had several places he could go for a client, but he decided to investigate furthur. Maybe if he knew more about someone her age, he wouldn't get fired all the time. Then again, the only reason he was ever fired was because trouble seemed to followhim.

”I know how that is.” She cast a downward glance. Rarely did she get to leave the house or hospital most of the time. That was why she was out today; sick and tired of being indoors all the time.

Gaze watched as he lit a cigarette and he apologized for it. ”I don’t care. It’s not like you’re the only person that smokes.” She also nodded her head to say that yes he could walk with her. Didn’t bother her any.

Slowly she took one last look in the window and then started walking down the street, Casey running out in front, wagging her stubby tail happily.

Vincent began to walk. He eyed the street, the people in it. He knew who had a gun, who was likely to use it, He could memorize how tall or short people were, what they were doing. THis came natural, but It was a good thing, and it had saved his life before," You come here alot?" Vincent wasn't going to stay too long, he couldn't just walk with people all the time, so He would be friendly, say good-bye and lthats that. Unless of course, what he felt earlier was going to come true, and of course, he always had a nack for being right about these things.
