Title: A case of mistaken identity
Description: For Arc

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 08:02 AM (GMT)
Cecily had come to Dark. It was supposed to be an Inish bar, she was hoping to study more than just people so she had come here. She was also wondering what the big deal about alcohol was. She had decided to try and find out. For the first fory minutes she was there all she did was sit at the bar and observe everything going on around her. One might think she was sizing people up. She wasn't, she was just looking.

Today she wore a pair of black tight jeans, combat boots, and a black silk button down. She was so cool and distant as she sat there. So obviously uncaring about what was going on around her. She had long ago forgotten how to feel. That was why she watched, perhaps something she would see would help her to remember.

Finally she turned to order a drink. Her platinum hair was white in the neon lighting and her lightening colored eyes remained detached. So cold and beautiful she was, she showed no sign that she noticed any of the appreciative stares she got.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 08:20 AM (GMT)
Uriel had come down to the bar a little early so he wouldn't have issues with his boss, and was simply wearing the jeans and shirt he'd had on before he left Viv's house.

He wasn't looking forward to work at all today. As Vivienne had pointed out he hadn't slept much or ate anything since he started taking care of her. He was still somewhat light-hearted, however, as he tended to the patrons of the bar, blue hair pulled into a somewhat neat ponytail. Pink eyes watched tiredly and he leaned up against the bar counter.

"What'll it be?" Such a common phrase. Oh how he hated the monotony here.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 08:25 AM (GMT)
"What do you suggest?"She asked in that blandly neutral tone of hers. She had a feling this wan't going to impress her. I should have stayed home on the internet. She told herself. Blue hair was interesting, but people dyed it all sorts of colors so it wasn't that unique.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
Uriel wasn't used to people being that bland but he didn't even raise an eyebrow. "Angel Tip, Midori Splice, Pink Panties... or Purple Haze. Take your pick." He sounded oddly lively today.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 02:56 PM (GMT)
"The first one then, do they all have such unusual names? She asked. Indeed he does sound lively, but she has no way of knowing he does not sound that way all the time.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
"Mmyep. Most of them, some stranger than others."

Uriel went to work preparing her drink, pouring the cordials when neccesary. Three quarters filled with dark cream, topped with coffee cream and cherry. He could've sworn he's made this at least a thousand times.

He slipped the woman her drink after naming the price.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
She paid unquestioningly and tipped, she always over tipped. It wasn't to flaunt, simply Jubal had told her it was better to leave too much instead of not enough, most jobs that took tips, the tips made up the bulk of the pay. She sippped at teh drink, at least it didn't taste bad. The alcohol felt funny on her tongue. "Is there any logic behind the names the drinks have?"She asked him.

Halfway through the drink she began to feel a warm tinggly ensation creep through her limbs.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 04:07 PM (GMT)
The tip was actually surprising to him. It was sadly ironic, Angel Tip... too bad Uriel didn't see the irony of it. "As far as I know, no." he gave a gentle shrug.

"And if you don't mind me asking, what are you...?" She smelled different, felt different. He could tell, even amidst the bar atmosphere.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
"Angelic, Celestial." she answered, still so emotionlessly, something wasn't right about her. It was almost creepy how emotionless her voice and eyes were, or sad depending on how one chose to veiw it, most opted for disturbed though. Cecily's presence was unsettling, even though her sureal beauty was somewhat faded by age. She was still beautiful.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
His eyebrow was immediatly quirked. Angel? A female angel? At this bar? That made him suspicious. The lack of emotion only furthered this suspicion. Was she the type of person who went and tortured whoever she wished?

A frown creased his lips. "Did you say angel?" He leaned over the bar counter a little.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
"That is what I am told. It is more obvious when I deploy my wings." she says with very little thought, the drink is almost gone and since she is unused to alcohol, it has quickly fogged her judgement.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
Uriel frowned deeper. She could sound so damned nonchalant about it, too! He leaned over further and grabbed her by her silk shirt. "You bitch." Cue bar fight.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
Now Cecily is not normally a violent being, but, she will defend herself. the shirt tore. That didn't bother her, nor did being attacked, though the motivation puzzled her. She was possitive she hadn't done anything. She shoved the bar tender off. "I don't want to fight you." she warned.

Arcane Blood - August 16, 2005 09:42 PM (GMT)
"But you want to fight my girlfriend?" He was shoved off and he came back at her, grabbing at her throat with his hands, claws and all. "Fuck you." This was going to get his ass fired, but it was well worth it. Squeeezzzzze.

K-Squared - August 16, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
It's hard to ask him what he's talking about while he chokes the crap out of her. He's particularly tenacious too. Cecily continues to try to break free but has little sucess. She hasn't much experience in fighting non-humans. She head buts him and he losens his grip, but its short lived. She does manage to choke out...."I don't under...." before her air supply is cut oof again. The claws really were quite painful.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 12:50 AM (GMT)
"Don't what?" He was shaken slightly by the headbutt and was forced to lose his grip for a moment. But his grip wasn't the only thing he lost. He tossed in his patience and his temper in there too. He slammed her into the bar counter, snarling and even spitting, forcing his claws into her neck.

This is what happens when you screw with Uriel's girlfriend, folks.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
She had to stand up, just long enough to shake him lose, my but he was strong. She had ben warned against going into bars by Jubal. it took her remaining strength to surge forwards and fling him off, she would not be able to do so again. She deployed her wings then in a brilliant flash like lightening, and they began to gel into solidity as the bars many patons looked on, many had to shield their eyes from the brightness, especially those sensative to daylight.

Once they were solid she drew her wings about her to shield herself from further attacks.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Immediately one hand was put up in front of his face as the brightness set in and she shook him off yet again. One hand was still tensed, ready to strike or swipe like a cat.

He squinted and then brought his hand down when the brightness died down.

He stopped instantly and brought his hands down in blank horror.

Oh. Fuck.

He said nothing.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Slowly leaving only a slit in her wings to navigate Cecily began to make her way out of the bar. It really wasn't right to remain there lighting the place up like daylight she knew. She got to the door and then stretched her wings enough to look around her and behind her. The bartender was just standing back there looking rather dumbstruck. The brightness could account for it, but he looked rather horrified.

Cecily was not about to go back and chat, once bitten twice shy as the saying goes, and being clawed up by a bartender made her feel she had done something wrong, even if she had no idea what. What had he been talking about his girlfriend for though? She gave her wings a flap and then retracted them so she could exit without drawing attention to herself.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
Uriel swallowed thickly, biting the inside of his lip as he cleaned up all the spilt drinks and broken glass, feeling tiny under the hard stares of everyone.

And he left early, after a harsh confrontation with his boss whom assumed he was drunk. But he wasn't fired...? What kind of logic is that?

In any case, Uriel guiltily hopped on his motorcycle, sulking pretty much all the way home.

It was a wonder he didn't get into a car accident what with how distracted he was.

But he got home safely anyway and was now unlocking and opening the door to Viv's apartment.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
The door opens on the scene out of a bad movie. The living room looks as it was left, except that Viv isn't still in bed and the bed is now unmade. Pillows litter the living room as well.

The kitchen is the spectacle. Viv is sitting out there in the middle of some sort of ritual circle drawn in blood. Obviously her own. In the circle with her is a razor blade, a syringe, a length of surgical hosing and a small steel ewer filled with blood.

She looks stoned, or perhaps like she is in a trance state. Though her whole body is twitching and shuddering too, it isn't violent at the moment.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
Oh. GOD. There's just no other words you can use (unless you count 'What the fuck'.) to describe the scene. Immediately horror wrenched at his gut. Living room empty as well as the bed. Pillows on the floor. He shut the door behind him, hoping she was just in the bathroom but when he walked further into the apartment his horror was renewed.

"Viv! What the hell?!" Immediately he sunk to his knees, snatching her arm in one clawed hand.

What else was there to do?

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
"Just don't come into the circle right now, he's almost out, and I'd hate for him to posses you.....Viv's voice came ragged. Her seeming seizure became much more intense and she let out a yell. The yell sent curls of smoke out of ther mouth, the tendrils of smoke looked remarkably clawlike. "GET........THE.........FUCK.......OUT.........ALREADY!!!!!" she yelled and indeed a smoky for m indeed seemed to claw it's way free as she yelled it out of her body. This was clearly taking a huge toll on her, blood was trickling from her ears and nose as the thing whatever it was left her completely.

"Be Banished from this place and this circle, Spectre, for with your name I bind you to do so.....Macsen, Bran, Kildares....Be gone."

The smokey being shrieked and disipated and then Viv slumped over the ewer of blood spilling all over the floor as she did.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
Uriel wanted to cover his ears to block out the sound from the yelling. He wanted to hold her but he wanted to crawl away. But he didn't do any of that. He avoided the circle and pushed Viv's slumped form up slightly.

He didn't say 'stay there'. He knew she wouldn't do much else.

"I'll be right back," he said quickly and breathlessly, forcing himself up. He scrambled for Viv's phone desperately. Smart demon. He called Gunn's number.

Ring... ring...

pick up the damn phone already!

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
Gunn immeditaley turned the thing on mute and precariously slipped away from the slumbering form in the bed beside him. Then he went outside to see who was calling at this hour?

Viv's number, and suddenly he has a very bad feeling. "Hello?" he said with aprehension obvious in his voice.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 11:04 PM (GMT)
It's funny how desperation and panick can make you forget how much you dislike a person.

Uriel was getting impatient but he kept the phone to his ear anyway.

Ah, an answer.

"Gunn, I need you over here now. I'll explain later." His voice was sort of harsh, worried, rushed.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 11:10 PM (GMT)
It couldn't be good if the boytoy was calling. "Ten minutes." he promised. He hung up and jotted a hasty note and adjusted the leg he had hastily put on. He didn't care that he was only wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Though normally he never lets people see that leg. He pulls on one sneaker and doesn't even bother with a shoe for the prosthetic.

Then he's out the door and in the truck driving to Viv's apartment like a bat out of hell.

He's there, and knocking on the door in eight minutes. Worried, breathless, and looking exacly as half put together as he is having just gotten out of bed to rush over.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
Uriel nodded (though Gunn could obviously not see that) and hung up the phone. During those eight minutes he was trying to figure out something to do with Viv to help her without much success.

Fuck.

He nearly jumped at the knocking on the door. Then he immediately got to his feet and opened the door for Gunn, stepping out of the way so he could get through.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
"Fucking bastard." Gunn cursed softly. He knew his stepfather's handiwork when he saw it. "Please say she dispelled something, maybe mistlike, or that looked like smoke?" eh thought as his heart hammered at what the signs here told him.

He skirted the circle in the kitchen goign through the cupboards looking for salt...."Come on Katie, say you have seasalt......"He murmured while he searched, thankfully she did. Then he started going through drawers, he found what he ws loking for in a drawer full of candles and matches. A good sized hunk of loadstone.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
He closed the door behind Gunn, looking mildly confused as he cursed. No. No time to be confused.

"Yes, she did." he said, trying to sound calm though obviously failing. Then he went back next to Viv.

K-Squared - August 17, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
First things first Gunn dispelled the circle. A scrying spell. Damn, she'd never work one of those. Gunn distinctly remembered the very last time she had. "You can take her out of the circle now. Clean those runes of her while I take the rest of these spells apart."He told the demon. (as far as he knows Uriel's a demon at any rate.)

He spent a while reworking the scry.....what had Mac been so interested in? He couldn't trace it. Hopefully Viv knew. Now wasn'tt he time to ask though. Gunn dealed with the reast of the magic and then set about cleaning up the bloody kitchen. He wondered how long Mac had ben hanging around. He suspected the other might try this again too. It would be much harder to repeat but not impossible.

Arcane Blood - August 17, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Uriel nodded faintly, lifting Viv's figure out of the circle like he had done the time he took her out of the bath tub. He didn't know how severe her wounds were. "Viv? Are you all right?"

He held onto her loosely but not so much as to drop her and just held her for a moment.

"Where should I put her?" He asked Gunn softly once he was finished.

K-Squared - August 18, 2005 12:03 AM (GMT)
Viv doesn't answer, she's quite asleep.

"In the bed, put her in he bed, I can revive her in just a minute. She'll need to eat though, I don't want to wake her till we have something for her to eat. Meat's the best thing if she hasn't made that known." He answered.

Arcane Blood - August 18, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Uriel quietly and hesitantly put her in the bed as if she were fine china, nodding at Gunn. "Yes I know. I've prepared many meals. Do you need help with something?" He asked, padding into the kitchen to get something ready for Viv to eat.

K-Squared - August 18, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
"He's still nearby somewhere, Viv completed the spell for him but she got the information he was after. He'll be back for it. I wish I knew what it was." Gunn said rounding up all the garbage from the scene. He'd gotten all the blood up, but the floor could still use a mopping.

He took the trash out and returned so he could revive his sister once her food was done. "How did you meet her? I won't even ask how you go close to her, that's no small accomplishment." Gunn told the other. He got out of the kitchen once he put the salt and the loadstone away, so the other would have enough room.

Arcane Blood - August 18, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
He nodded once more, lightly. "Perhaps I could ask her." He was calmer now but still slightly on edge. He opened the fridge once Gunn made room and began the process of making food.

He gave a chuckle. It didn't mean he was any less on edge. "At a gas station. Seems so far away from now.." he shrugged, getting out a plate.

K-Squared - August 18, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
"A gas station, She usually ignores people that talk to her, or did she talk to you? "Gunn wondered outloud, he certainly couldn't see why she would, but he couldn't see her being receptive to a stranger either. "And uhm, the demon thing, was she pissed when she found out?" He was begining to suspect he really didn't know his little sister at all anymore. While he was talking he was only half paying attention as he healed the many small magical signs and symbols that had been cut into her.

Once she was healled and resting comfortably he walked back towards the kitchen. "Were you hurt?" he asked.

Arcane Blood - August 18, 2005 10:32 PM (GMT)
He could only simply shrug. "She talked to me." He placed the food in the microwave and leaned against the counter. "No, not that I know of." He cocked his head to the side a little, frowning. "Why?"

"Me? No."

Not from the spirit which still confused him.

K-Squared - August 18, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
"Not at all what I was expecting, normally she has mundane tastes, her last boyfriend was an unknowledgable and boring school teacher, though he did leave his already estranged wife for Viv. She talked to you....interesting. It's surprising since she was hiding from everyone, and shunning all things magical in nature."He was saying. Sometime maybe Viv would shed light on it, or maybe not. Gunn was begining to find her extremely unpredictable.

He simply nodded when Uriel said he had not been hurt. That was good, but he said nothing.

Arcane Blood - August 18, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
He sighed softly. "Lately, I just don't know... I know she's trying to tell me things, but I still just don't understand a lot of things." He shook his head. This was not the sort of thing he wanted to come to her apartment to find.

"Like this. I don't understand what this whole thing is.

Beep beep went the microwave.
