Title: Swings and Wings
Description: Shadie-Bebe in a park
Skirr - December 12, 2003 11:55 PM (GMT)
Shad had nothing to do and no one to talk to. He usually spent this time hunting for mice or something, or taking a fly out over the woods. Today he was being lazy, and social, an odd combination. He was sitting on an old swing in a little cement park that seemed to be put there 300 years ago and used till they feared the seat would break. Shad was less caring about that factor, and just sat in it. It didn't break, and he let himself swing a bit, not letting his feet leave the ground. It wasn't worry that held him there, it was laziness.
His eyes were their usual gold luster, for the sun was out and the day looked promising. Maybe someone else thinks it is nice enough to come out. He was being hopeful that he could find someone else his age on this lonely place. So far he met a demon girl two years younger at the age of thirteen. She was nice, but his life was threatened in her presence and he didn't want to die without all the life he was missing thus far. He just hit puberty, way late, got his first dose of hormones to wake him outta his sleep one morning, and blamed it all on the god Dionisos. He had probally started it all with his stupid little revelry thing. Now Shad was 'fully functional' and learning all the emotions it went with. He wasn't talking to any girls he knew for this reason as well.
The swingset squeaked behind him, and he let it rock back and forth, letting the sun bathe him over with warmth and the wind splash coolness back over his clothes. He was dressed oddly, to say the least. Yes, the normal teeshirt and jeans, but a cloak over those. An old fasioned leather cloak. He got stares for wearing it, but they weren't as bad as the stares he would get without it. It concealed two huge kestrel wings and a tail that came from his lycanthrope side. He could become the American Kestrel at will, which explained much of him. His size, for instance. The boy, sitting, looked small, but standing, he looked downright puny. Four feet and eleven inches isn't something he likes to brag about...
Shivah - December 13, 2003 12:09 AM (GMT)
A young girl sat under a large oak tree that shaded some of the park. Her back leanded agenst the trunk, her ebony and golden brown hair high in a poneytail, and snake like eyes narrowed to the ground. Her jean hip huggers kept her warm from the breeze and her baggy white t-shirt blew rapidtly with the passing breeze. Shivah was in her own world, you could tell by her motionless postion and she had no idea someone was there.
Ayla Linaeve - December 13, 2003 12:14 AM (GMT)
Ayla walked down the dilapatated street, the rotting city buildings looming over her, haunting her shadow.
Her jade eyes scanned the district, almond shaped optics falling upon a single being, swinging listlessly on the swings.
He couldn't have been older than 11, 12 tops.
"Hey there little boy, are you lost?" she asked sweetly, leaning over the half height fence. Her tan coloured hair hanging past her face, she brushed it out of the way with one nimble finger.
Chibirusia - December 13, 2003 12:16 AM (GMT)
Damian had gone out for a walk. Not for any realy reason except that he had the time to shoot the breeze. Actuly Taht woudlent sound so bad right now, with the way Wisp was acting. She had been very angry at him for days now, all because he talked to That wind-woman, Haze. She was rather a nice woman, it was jsut how she treated wisp, and the fact she was a girl that Wisp was mad at him so much.
Damian tuned out her angry raints by thinking.
It had been aobut a year.. Or was it two? He stopped really keeping count. He was never really good with time, anyway. Well, for a year or so had had been in this city, a big change to the small town he used to live in. Sadly he hadnt really met anyone he could call a true friend. You could say that he was a bit of a smoe-joe. a wall flower, a guy who fades into the background. People at school who talked to him couldn't belive he was the new kid. Proves how much of an impact he's been leaving in the world. That's why he had dyed streaks into his hair, to stand out a bit. But even the streaks were fadeing with the atetion he recived. He had wisp though, and that was only bad when he was social with girls, so her company wasn't that bad, though it could get agravating at times.
His wandering eyes landed on an old swing set that looked as if it came before the dinosars came... heh, dinosars playing on swingsets, only in thoes never ending "Land before time" movies will he ever have a chance to see that. something other than a dinosar was on the swings. A teenage boy..?

Shad didn't wanna look at either of the girls. That is exactly what he was hiding from... Girls in general. He had wanted a sister and a mom for so long that that was all he wanted to be around -- girls -- and now that he was around them, he wanted them away. No offence to the girls, but he was experiencing the who hormones thing, and he was afraid one look would start 'it' all again, and he hated it.
He looked. And smiled. He wasn't affected by this, and thank god was the only thing he could think to answer that. He shouldn't be smiling, a lady just asked him if he was lost or not. He knew where he was. The height... Always the height... He shook his head, wordlessly, and turned to look at the ground, spotting the second figure over under the only tree in the area. She looked his age, and for this he was glad. Not many people his age around. A small smile crept upon his face, but he didn't 'show teeth'. Wasen't his style, until something worth smiling about happened.
"Hi."
He looked up to see if the other lady was still standing there, and locked eyes with a boy. Bigger smile. Shad hadn't met a single guy in all his time here that he considered a friend. Met a piss-drunk god, an Angel, and a god of knowledge. And none were his friends. His chance to meet a friend was now.
"Hi!"
Overly enthusiastic, yes, but he was glad he wasn't 'alone'.
Ayla Linaeve - December 13, 2003 12:24 AM (GMT)
Ayla's brow furrowed. He saw the boy glance over at the other girl but decided to ignore that.
"You sure hun?" she asked, entering the park. He did look rather small, but perhaps she misjuged him. He couldn't be that young.
"Why are you out here so late?" she asked, crossing her arms across her chest.
Shivah - December 13, 2003 12:28 AM (GMT)
Shivahs mind was blank, and she was almost asleep when she heared the word 'HI' towards her, she pulled her self form the slow slumber. Lifting her head, she looked to Shade, the boy which said Hi. For the longest time, her stare was blank then the simple words slipt from her vilot lips. "Hey.." her voice was deep and..well, tomboyish is the best way to explain it. Shivah wasn't the kind with long, joyful greedings. she wasn't shy, she was just..naturally quite and locked her emotions up so tight her expressions appeared blank.
Shivah could hear Whisp and Damian behind her and see Ayla by Shade. But she kept her stare on the person she replyed to,not wanting to attract attetion to herself.
Chibirusia - December 13, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
Damian stopped in hsi tracks. did some one actuyl notice him? AND SAY 'HI'?!
Woh, freaky.
Wisp jearked outta her complaining, hearing the greeting aswell.
".. Who's that kid? Do you know him?" She asked.
"No..." he muttered back to her.
"Well, go over and say hi back! You've been spending to much time with girls as it is!"
"But there's-!" he was interupted by a large outta place gust of wind hitting his back; wisp urgeing him on.
Skirr - December 13, 2003 01:10 AM (GMT)
Shad shook his head once more to the woman. She seemed to be mothering him, which he enjoyed. He didn't have a mom, just his dad till he left a couple of years back, but then again, the mothering of some kid you found in a park wasn't necessarily the best thing ever... He could be dangerous. You, Dangerous? That is almost funny, Shad. ALMOST funny... He smiled, and spoke up to her.
"No, not lost. Just enjoying that sun... It's not that late."
He turned back to the girl by the tree, and felt a bit sorry. She had been sleeping and he woke her up. Great going, Shad. She did manage a 'hi', so he figured the damage to her wasn't that bad. Shad liked his sleep. Anyone waking him up is normally found grumbling about how a fifteen year old could possibly be able to say such things. Shads eyes wandered back to the boy, who was coming towards the park, a bit jerked at the first step, as if someone had pushed him. Shad was quick and solving innish-unnish identities of people, and figured the boy was innish. The other two sported nothing that shouted Innish or Unnish at him. Just as well... Better get to know them.
"I'm Shad."
He spoke this to all's benefit.
Shivah - December 13, 2003 01:19 AM (GMT)
Shivah repeated the name in her mind. Letting her eyes shift to Damian, she seem to stare deep into him, like her stare she gave Shade, and Alya. 'Wow, how many people you can find in a jurassic age park..' she though, getting a bit confident and trusting. Maybe she'll come out of her shell. It was debating sitiuation for shivah. Finlly, she talked again.
"My name is Shivah.."
Chibirusia - December 13, 2003 01:31 AM (GMT)
Damian walked acouple of paces to the swingset before stoping again.
"Go onnnnn...."
He groaned, "Your going ot throw a fit if I make contact with one of the girls, why the sudden change?" He grumbled to wisp.
"Becuase you a loney boy and need friends."
"You sure dont help." He got a pretty good blast in the face for that. "Okay, okay. I'm going..." he grumbled going up the the fence.
Ayla Linaeve - December 13, 2003 01:42 AM (GMT)
"Nice to meet you Shad," Ayla said, smiling toward the boy, "I'm Ayla."
This boy seemed rather odd. Nothing in perticular, but she just had a deep inner feeling that there was something about him that she didn't know.
'Well duh, you did just meet him. You can't expect to know everything about him now do you?' She thought to herself, surveying him through barely narrow eyes.
Shivah - December 13, 2003 03:27 AM (GMT)
Shivah sighed. 'Well, TALK!' she thought. She basicly kicked herself to say something. But what? Shivah wondered this. 'but what?'. she bite her lip and thought.
Chibirusia - December 13, 2003 03:20 AM (GMT)
(( Not really, but eh, I'll work through anything. ))
"Same here..."
He then turned his head to shad, this will be easier than talking to a girl.
"And It's nice to meet you, shad, aswell."
((blarg, shortness))
Shivah - December 13, 2003 03:10 AM (GMT)
Shivahs Honey brown eyes lead to Damian by the fence. She felt like she can trust them and she talked, but have she ever cracked a simple smile, nope. Her face laid the same. But her eyes told all.
Ayla Linaeve - December 13, 2003 03:09 AM (GMT)
((I'm assuming he's talking to me? If not, I apologize.))
She grinned at the boy.
"Pleased to meet you Damian, I'm Ayla." she said, flicking a piece of troublesome hair behind her shoulder.
Her heart rate slowed, breathing normalized, and she took a deep breath, calmness seeping into her eyes.
'What was that about?' she thought to herself, loosening her bonecrunching grip on the fence.
Chibirusia - December 13, 2003 03:04 AM (GMT)
Damian clenched his fingers aorund the fence when he had finaly reached it.
"Hello..." He said, making a small smile. "I'm Damian..."
Wisp claped, or what ever a clap was for a wind spirt, for Damian. He sjtu took a deep breath-sigh.
((ARG! SHORT!))
Skirr - December 13, 2003 02:28 AM (GMT)
Shad nodded, and smiled back at Shirah. She wasn't going to eat him for waking her, and this, if anything, was a good omen. He didn't want to be eaten. He had a job to do. Clean up after a demon that wrecked havoc on everything it touched, and if HE didn't do it, who would? His attention turned back to the woman called Ayla. Seemed nice enough, but she seemed to catch his unusual drift. You could see it in her eyes.
As for Damian, he was talking to something, and Shad had to cock an eyebrow. Something wasn't right here if the kid was Unnish, so Shad hoped that Innish was what he was.
Shivah - December 13, 2003 02:34 AM (GMT)
Shivah raised to her feet, but her back still agenst the trunk of the oak tree. She now leanded agenst the tree trunk. Her hands swiftly in her pockets, she scaned everyone. Honestly, this was the first time she really talked to someone in a few months, it sound odd, but its only the truth. Actually, it felt nice to talk to someone, even though she only said five words.
Her snake like eyes didn't appeare normal, they seem dangerous, yet kind at the same time. Shivah was coming out of her shell after all.
Ayla Linaeve - December 13, 2003 02:43 AM (GMT)
The knot in her stomach tightened.
She couldn't shake it.
Something was wrong, very wrong, and her gut kept telling her to run.
Eyes darting between the two beings, she felt as if she was being suffocated.
Cough.
Eyes flew to the Oak Tree, a sigh, something farmilliar and comforting to the eye.
Breathing stabalized slightly, hand clasped to the wrought iron fence gathering sweat beneath her palm.
Skirr - December 14, 2003 01:15 AM (GMT)
Shad smiles, and takes the other boys name in. He was tempted to leave his swing seat and go stand by the other guy, maybe even leave the park. Shivah was quiet, and Ayla was motherly. Both were not qualities he aspired to find. This boy Damian was also quiet, but he seemed to be more frightened then quiet.
"So... How is everyone...?"
Shad knew this was as lame as it came, but that didn't seem to stop him from asking.
