Title: Figures
Description: -Tie

It was quiet, except for the hum of the ventilation system, and the soft snap of footsteps moving across the floor. The tour group was either far ahead or far behind. Douglas had come in on his own, preferring to browse at his leisure rather than be forced along and told more than he wanted to know.

His steely eyes fixed on a sign fixed to a wall some distance away, and he headed towards it at a brisk pace, hoping the sign would be able to tell him where in this blasted museum he was. Naturally, he wasn't going to ask directions of any of the other people in the museum. He'd have to find one of them for that, and the place was practically empty.

Standing inconspiciously near the sign, Sombra had his eyes closed. He was in the midst of one of his quiet moments (of which he had many), and he didn't move a muscle except to open his eyes as Douglas approached, and watch him intently.

Douglas's eyes roved briefly over Sombra, meeting his gaze for a moment before he turned his attention to the sign. It only took him a moment to get the information he wanted. Then he just watched Sombra from the corner of his eye. One of the many weird things about Douglas was he had no problem with outright staring at people if he felt like it. Like right now.

Sombra had worn his hair down today. With the slightest shake of his head, he cast it over his face (still visible, though somewhat obscured). He stared right back, not seeming to need to blink, and then, very slowly, one eyebrow lifted, just a tiny bit, giving him a subtle air of what the fuck are you looking at?

Danie - August 2, 2005 10:31 AM (GMT)
He continued the little staring contest, his face devoid of expression except for a glimmer of suspicion in his eyes.

"Who are you?" he asked suddenly.
My, he's a master of subtlety, isn't he.

Cagey Tiger - August 2, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
An absolute master.
Sombra, with a faint feeling that he was getting himself into Dr. Barclay-esque trouble, gave a light, long-suffering sigh, and replied, "Sombra Alley."

Danie - August 3, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
"Sombra Alley," he repeated. He smirked - in an oddly twisted way, but that was the usual way of smirking with Douglas. "Really. How fascinating. Odd, meeting you here. What are you up to?"
Is it any of Douglas's business what Sombra is up to? No.
Does he care? Of course not.

Cagey Tiger - August 3, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
"Nothing." He inhaled.
Oh, look. Sombra's going to make a speech.
"As should be abundantly obvious." he glanced at his surroundings to make his point. There was a very faint note of distaste in his voice.

Danie - August 3, 2005 03:44 AM (GMT)
"Mmm."
(That was a mumble of grudging agreement, by the way.)
"Nothing at all?"

Cagey Tiger - August 3, 2005 03:47 AM (GMT)
"Not one single thing." a barely-there smile hovered on his lips, never really settling. If it had actually made itself known, it would be the sort of smile that suggested that the floor needed more blood on it.

Danie - August 3, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
"Well, then,... I suppose I'll leave you to your nothingness, shall I?"
As much as Douglas would like to pry into Sombra's reaosn for being in the museum (whatever it may be) he's really not so rude that he'd actually do so. And it might not be worth his time to find out. Douglas has a serious aversion to wasting time.

Cagey Tiger - August 3, 2005 04:05 AM (GMT)
Rather than waste words responding, Sombra simply closed his eyes again.
Which didn't mean that he wasn't acutely aware of Douglas' presence...just that he had his eyes shut.

Danie - August 3, 2005 04:08 AM (GMT)
"Goodbye, then," he said calmly. He then disappeared to whatever it was hed come to this museum to see in the first place.
