Title: A feeling for the untamed soul

It was late; really late. So late that it was pitch black in the conservation area and only the stars and moon gave any hint of light amongst the darkness. It was a half moon and barely gave enough light on the grass as it swayed gently in the wind. Crickets were chirping and the trees rustled their leaves together as the winds blew through them calmly. It was a nice night really.
Laying on the ground and staring up at the sky was Lin. It wasn’t often that she’d spend a night in the conservation area, seeing as if anyone saw her they would promptly kick her out for being out past closing hours. As moonlight hit her eyes, a glimmer of emerald shimmered back into the dotted sky. They were intense yet relaxed at the same time. She loved being out here alone. Just her and the wild. Though later tonight would be a bit more intense than relaxation. Indeed. She had to hunt something wild in order to keep the beast at rest within. True she had most control over it, but sometimes you just got to let it out and have its fun before being cooped up once more.
Lin is wearing black leather pants that fit nicely to her form. A velvety white cloth was weaved through the straps like a belt and tied in the front and slightly off to one side. She had on a black tank top as well as a black jacket over that so she could be well hidden from any eyes. She blended well with the darkness of the forest. Sensitive ears picked up on a owl hooting in the night and then taking off in search of food. She wore no shoes this night as they were a pain to keep quiet for they rustled loudly against the grass. Besides, she like the feeling of the grass blades running through her toes. The beast wasn’t the only one that had a love for the wilderness.
Her arms folded behind her head and her head was placed squarely in the middle of her palms to give her some sort of pillow as she looks up at the sky. She’s laying out in the middle of a small clearing where the tree’s thin out and give her a good view of the sky above her. One leg is bent back towards her so the knee is making a point to the sky and the other one is laid out against the grass.

Months had passed since that day she had invited someone into her house only to end up raped and hurt. Something in her changed that day. No longer was she the innocent soul that she had been all her life thus far. No. Not at all. Hate and anger had made its way into her heart. Hardening it I guess you could say. She wasn’t anywhere near being the trusting individual that she had been when she had first come to this city. She would probably never be ever again either. Nope.
On this night, she finally decided that she needed to leave her house for the first time in quite some time. She had locked herself in it after she had been raped. She went so far as to have her groceries and such delivered to her house. The delivery guys had been under strict orders to just leave the bags on the porch and leave. Otherwise, they could have been in for a world of hurt. Yes. The once polite and innocent girl was not so polite anymore. No. She had a lot of anger inside of her. Anger and a desire to make others suffer as she had.
Tonight she was wearing a pair of loose fitting jeans and a very oversized t-shirt. The jeans were a washed out blue. The t-shirt was a dark red. She was wearing her usual deer skin moccasins. Tan in color. No matter how angry she ever was, her footsteps were always nearly totally silent. She had learned this from being raised with her native american family. If it had been daylight out, she probably wouldn’t have bothered to leave her house.
The night was quite nice for being so late. She was enjoying strolling along through the shadows. She was considering letting the wolf out for a run after a while once she was sure that there was no one else around. There were so many different scents around here that she wasn’t able to tell very well just how fresh any of them were. She stepped on a twig by accident as she walked along.
((Sorry it took me all day to reply Jolee. I paid someone to do a couple of specific picture drawings for me and that's what I was doing most of the evening... trying to sort out full details. That's also why I wasn't talking much on AIM :aww: ))

She was dozing in and out when she heard a twig snap not far off from where she was laying. Eyes dilated further so she could see her surroundings better. She could see something moving through the trees, but it wasn’t completely clear as to what it was.
Sitting up she continued looking in that direction wondering what would be out here at this time of the night other than wild animals. Finally she picked out that it was walking on two legs and thus had to be a person. Why would anyone be out here at night? Of course then she realized that, oh yeah, she was sitting out here in the middle of the night and she was a person. Perhaps this other person was like her in some way.
”Who’s there?” She shouted only loud enough for this stranger to hear. No need to attract park officials.

The moment she heard someone’s voice, she dropped closer to the ground. Deep blue eyes began to search her surroundings. She could feel the wolf inside urging her to let it out. She almost nearly did. She would wait for the time being before doing so though.
“Who wants to know?” she growled back from deep within the shadows. No. She wouldn’t come out nor say who she was so easily. She had hoped to have gone for a walk without having to run into anyone. Male. Female. Didn’t matter at this point in time. She was angry at the world. She wanted the world to suffer as she had.

This other person sounded just as agitated to find that their peaceful night had been jolted to a stop as well. An eyebrow rose in curiosity at the other’s carefulness and not wanting to show themselves.
’Easy there. Just an innocent question. Not many people wander in the woods this time of night.” Eyes flashed green as she tried to pick out any sign of what this other person might look like. By the voice she could tell the other was a woman and there was a faint scent of some sort of dog or another emanating around her. It intrigued her, but she wasn’t going to strike up a conversation if the other did not wish it. She was just as happy to go back and watch the sky and go on a hunt later on.

She kept herself hidden in the shadows. At least for the time being. Yes she was agitated to learn that her evening walk had been disturbed. After having kept herself locked up in her own house for so long, she had thought a walk alone would help to clear her mind.
“Nothing is innocent in this world,” she replied in a cold sort of tone. She could still feel the wolf inside wanting to come out. She wasn’t yet ready to let it though. She was one of those that didn’t need for it to be a full moon for the wolf inside to come out. She’d always had a sort of ‘special’ connection with that part of her. She had pretty much grown up learning how to do this. It had been a long process.
Anyway, back to the here and now. She began to move carefully in the shadows to try to find a spot where she could view the individual who was out there in the middle of the night.

The woman’s reply made her raise an eyebrow in even more curiosity. Something seemed to be upsetting her, but what she didn’t know. Perhaps she was just really agitated that her walk had been disturbed.
”Whatever.” She stated rather calmly and went back to looking at the sky. Lin was also not one that needed the moon to change. Being born a Were had it’s pluses. She could change at will if she wanted anymore, but she hated having to buy new clothes all the time. It got rather irritating after awhile. Of course she could not help it sometimes if her emotions went crazy as well. Anger was a major factor in any beast wanting to come out of the human. However at this current time her beast was rather satisfied as Jayme had been doing pretty good and squelching any reason for it to come out.
Yet she still wanted to go on a hunt tonight. It’d been a while since she’d hunted anything like a true tiger and she was getting quite bored with just cow, pig and chicken meat. Something else needed to be hunted and killed and eaten tonight. Though of course it would not be this human as they were too boney to eat with any sort of like. People were a last resort for the beast as Lin always had a terrible stomach ache the morning after.
"What do you mean by that anways? Does it not say that people are innocent until proven guilty?" A smirk formed on her face as she looked back in the direction of the movement and voice of the other person.

Winono still hadn’t come out of the shadows that she’d hidden herself in. She wouldn’t either if she could help it. After what had happened to her, she formed a great distrust for everyone. This individual was not any different as far as she was concerned.
“No one is innocent until proven guilty. That’s nothing more than a crock of crap that your stupid government feeds you.”
((Short. Sorry.))

An eyebrow rose at this statement. This stranger definitely had a lot of hatred towards something though she doubted it was at the government. She’s looking in the direction that the voice is coming from, but the woman is concealing herself quite nicely. Even her cat night vision can’t find her amongst the trees.
”I don’t care much about the government. They don’t care much about us so I don’t spare them a thought. Why are you so angry?” It’s pretty obvious the woman was upset and angry. Something had happened, but what? Lin didn’t know.
