Title: A Walk in the Woods
Hisoka - December 10, 2003 07:16 AM (GMT)
A black convertible with the roof up and tinted windows pulls into what looks like a small parking lot just inside the conservation area boundary. A door opens and a man wearing a long, black leather trench coat, driving gloves and mirrored blue sunglasses gets out. He has changed into black leather hiking boots.
I haven't been here since I was a child. Doesn't seem to have changed much.
Dom left the door open so Tai could get out. He stood just in front of the door looking around. He still held the keys in his left hand so he could lock the door once it was closed. He could feel the energy flowing a little freer and cleaner here.
Tai - December 10, 2003 01:25 PM (GMT)
Tai zoomed out of the car and into the trees, scaring a few birds. She climb one of them and moved towards an outstretched branch and her tail coiled around it so she could hang loosely.
*We live here, better air, more food?*
To prove her point she took a leaf and started munching on it.
Hisoka - December 10, 2003 10:56 PM (GMT)
Dom turned and closed the door, pressing the lock button as he walked away then pocketing the keys. He walked towards the nearest stand of trees, eager to get out of the open, man made, parking lot.
"You'd really like to live here?" He said in deep thought. He had seen a few homes advertised. They weren't actually in the conservation area but they supposedly backed onto it. The homes were newer than his and would be a little larger. Not that it mattered since it was only Tai and himself. But a newer house would be nice. They were going cheap too, apparently there was a problem with the wildlife.
He laughed, feeling lighter here, more energetic. It sounded like a good idea to him. Then they could come out here whenever they wanted and it wouldn't involve driving.
Paris - December 10, 2003 11:11 PM (GMT)
A small, blue Gremlin pulled into the parking lot. It was in a questionable state, cleary showing it's age. Paris sat in the driver's seat, one hand on the steering wheel. She parked it two lots away from the convertable.
She had considered parking beside it, and slamming her door into the side. Just for a reaction. But she really wasn't that mean, plus she learned that picking a fight is not the best way to go. She learned it the hard way.
She got out of the car and locked it with her key. She looked into the bushes and saw Dom not far off. She then looked at the convertable for a bit before saying. "Do you drive around in that or do you just use it as a mirror." She peered into the glossy paint and fixed her hair using the reflection to prove her point.
Paris's Left Arm - December 11, 2003 12:21 AM (GMT)
Drummed fingers gently against her side, distracted by the fresh, wild air and slow vibrations of natural Earth. There was a humming of energy, but it ignored it, instead making little snap-noises in tune with Paris's heartbeat.
Hisoka - December 11, 2003 12:47 AM (GMT)
Dominik stood under a large oak near the edge of the forest. He heard a car and turned to watch as the blue car pulled up and Paris got out. Laughing again when she fixed her hair using his car as a mirror.
He said nothing, waiting for her to make her way over. Idly wondering where Tai had gotten to. Ah well, let her have her fun. It's not often she gets to run around like this. When it's time to go she'll re-appear.
Paris - December 11, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
Paris walked over and grinned. "Maybe I should ask for a fee for all the priceless information I entitled you to." She said in amusement, not really meaning it. "Shall we? Great day for a walk." She waved towards the forest and a small path. "Although I warn you I think you got all the information that I stored in my head. I spend more time asking questions than documenting them."
Hisoka - December 11, 2003 01:18 AM (GMT)
He smiled. As far as he could remember it was a relatively fair trade of information even though he did most of the talking. "It is a great day for a walk. We shall." He turned towards the path and started down it. "So you come here often?"
Paris - December 11, 2003 01:33 AM (GMT)
"As often as possible. Not very many people come around here so I have free range. To get exercise and stuff." She matched his pace and walked to his right, keeping a bit of a distance away, unnoticable in the least. She used her hightened senses to scout ahead. The demon seemed long gone, only a fox... and a deer. She sighed, it couldn't be determined if it was from contentness or relief.
Hisoka - December 11, 2003 01:41 AM (GMT)
"I haven't been here in ages. But it certainly is nice out here. Tai likes it here too so I may move out this way. There are some houses for sale that back onto the conservation area. You can stop by when you're out here if you like."
Dominik had a thin smile on his lips. The fresh air was intoxicating.
Tai - December 11, 2003 02:21 PM (GMT)
Tai scuttered out of the trees and climbed up Doms legs and onto his right shoulder. She gave a welcome hiss to Paris before settling down. She had a leaf in her hand and she was chewing on it slowly.
*Leaves are good... You want some?*
Paris - December 12, 2003 03:40 PM (GMT)
Paris smiled. "You're some rich kid aren't you? Jeese, some people just got born lucky. I grew up on a farm with a big family, never got anything." She didn't show any remorse towards not having anything though, truthfully she didn't care. But she also grew up thinking that rich people needed to know how lucky they are... For some unknown reason... Rule of thumb, very necessary. "Oh, I gotta take you to the river." I've died there once, she finished in her head... The thought seemed funny now, she giggled, which could be mistaken for giddiness. She started skipping off to said river.
Hisoka - December 15, 2003 07:43 AM (GMT)
Dom turned towards Tai "No thank you, I only eat leaves in salad." He smiled and looked towards Paris, the smile becoming ironic. She was skipping now so he had to walk faster to keep up.
Ignoring the last of what she said he proceded to let her know what 'luck' was to him.
"Rich... not quite, just well off. You'd think I'm lucky but it would seem fortune comes from misfortune. I only have the money because my parents disappeared when I was really young. They're presumed dead so I inherited all their money and without bodies there was no need for a full funeral which means most of their life insurance was added to my inheritance. On top of that my grandmother, who was looking after me, died about a year ago of cancer. If you call that luck then sure, personally I call it circumstances."
After that his smile became sad and bitter for a moment before vanishing completely from his face.
Paris - December 16, 2003 11:46 PM (GMT)
Paris' first thought was awww poor Dom, which quickly faded into Squirrel! Paris changed into a werewolf and chased after that squirrel faster then you can say 'Wha?' The squirrel scurried up a tree and right behind it was Paris. Paris clawed up the tree with relative trouble given she only had one arm to use. She growled all the way up. The squirrel was smarter though. It went back down the other side of the tree and into a hole in the ground.
Paris leaped down from the tree, trying to find the squirrel. She whined in disappointment, she really wanted a good chase. That was about the same time she smelt Tai. The first thought that came to her head was I wonder how fast a dragon is the second thought was quickly muffled by a werewolf howl. Paris launched herself towards Dom and the dragon on his shoulder, barking a challenge.
Tai - December 16, 2003 11:57 PM (GMT)
Tai hissed back the challenge and darted the other way. Quickly losing herself to the ferns, running away from the incoming werewolf. Tai knew that girl was trouble when she first laid eyes on her.
*Your stupid friend is chasing me!*
Hisoka - December 19, 2003 07:37 AM (GMT)
Dom was watching Paris chase a squirrel. It was quite entertaining watching her try to climb with one arm. Just after she jumped down he heard her howel and watched as she lunged for them. He felt Tai jump off and heard the rustle in the ferns.
It would certainly seem so... I guess that means I have to help...
He jumped out of the werewolf's path hoping she wouldn't go after him. Just in case he called up his magic.
Paris - December 19, 2003 03:07 PM (GMT)
Paris jumped into the ferns after Tai. Her three-legged run made her look more like an ape than a werewolf. She ran with her nose near the ground tracking the dragon. She loosy wondered if the dragon knew how play tag. She loved chasing things, she used to chase cars but then people started saying there were monsters in the bushes and she had to stop.
Paris, not being able to feel her left arm, accedentally smashed it into a few trees. The chase continued...
Tai - December 19, 2003 05:56 PM (GMT)
No silly werewolf was going to catch this dragon. Tai swam through the undergrowth like was water. She quickly scuttering up a tree turned around to look at the incoming beast, she stuck out her tongue.
*Stupid Wolf, can't catch Tai*
Hisoka - December 29, 2003 09:26 PM (GMT)
Dom watched, letting the chase go on for a few minutes.
Tai could probably use the exercise and this is somewhat entertaining.
"Tai, let me know when you get bored" is all he said as he watched the werewolf chase Tai fruitlessly.
Paris - February 8, 2004 08:26 PM (GMT)
The werewolf gleefully climbed up the tree without hesitation. She just high enough to snap at the little dragon's tail. She was successful. She happily dragged to poor little dragon down with her. The happy werewolf carried Tai by the tail towards the wizard.
Tai - February 8, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
Tai hissed and squeeled. She wiggled and squermed in the werewolf's grasp. The teeth were not really comfortable...
*Help, help, she's going to eat me!!!*
Tai scratched Paris' chin with her claws and bit into the werewolf's neck.
Hisoka - February 8, 2004 08:44 PM (GMT)
I guess Paris was able to catch Tai after all.
"Sorry Paris, don't take this personally." As Dom finished he lifted his right arm and a bolt of energy lanced out from his palm heading straight for Paris. He hoped it would just be enough to make her release tai without hurting her.
Paris - February 8, 2004 08:53 PM (GMT)
The werewolf barely enough time to perk up her ears before...
*ZAP*
Pain came quickly and then faded out of existance even quicker. But the fact of the matter was that it still hurt.
The dragon dropped out of the werewolf's mouth. The pain haunted her even though she felt no more of it. She could smell the one who did this to her. She could smell his blood and the ashes the surrounded him. He attacked her, how dare he.
Paris launched herself at the wizard in a rage...
Tai - February 8, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
Tai dropped ungracefully to the ground. The lightning travelled through the wolf and into her too. But Tai was not as easily enraged. Of course there was the problem of a mad werewolf coming after her master.
*Look out, look out!*
Hisoka - February 8, 2004 09:01 PM (GMT)
"Tai, hurry up and get back here." He saw the werewolf start towards him so he began to weave an energy wall between himself, and Paris.
How do you make a werewolf turn back into a person? As long as Paris is a werewolf she won't listen to anything.
Paris - February 28, 2004 04:14 PM (GMT)
Connection with the energy wall was painful at best... So the werewolf tried it again. Scratching and scraping at it. She wanted the person behind it, he had caused her pain. She didn't like people who caused pain, more so when she was a werewolf. Although her efforts at the wall seemed to calm her down... A little.
Tai - February 28, 2004 04:17 PM (GMT)
Tai couldn't let a werewolf eat her master... Who would feed her?
The little dragon scurried up the werewolf and bit into her ear. Holding on for dear life.
Hisoka - February 28, 2004 07:01 PM (GMT)
"Tai, Get away from her. You'll just make Paris more annoyed and I'd rather this end peacefully."
If Tai will get out of there I can close the wall around her to make a box then she can just sit there until she calms down and changes back... or I run out of energy, whichever comes first. Lets hope she changes
Paris - February 28, 2004 07:53 PM (GMT)
Paris yelped in pain as she tried to dislodge the little dragon attached to her ear. She shook her head visciously. The wall and the person behind it was forgotten.
Tai - February 28, 2004 07:55 PM (GMT)
Tai let go and quickly flew towards her master.
*Scary, scary. Try to eat Tai. Bad wolf.*
Hisoka - February 28, 2004 10:00 PM (GMT)
While Tai was still in mid air, Dom quickly closed the wall in around paris to make a box. Moving a few paces off and out of sight he stopped to observe the wherewolf.
"You'll be ok, you should be more careful though... besides, we aren't trying to kill her."
Paris - February 28, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
With the dragon now outside the walls it became a whole new thing of importance. Paris circled around her small pen using a clawed hand to survey the bondary. She growled at Dom's general direction now that he was out of site. Like a penned up dog she settled herself down to sleep. Her thought process was slightly dimmed at this moment, changing back just hadn't come to mind.
Tai - February 28, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
Tai landed on Dom's shoulder and nipped at his ear.
*Don't wanna live here no more. There wolves. Wolves are bad, hurt Tai, hurt Dom*
She hissed at the wolf-in-the-box.
Hisoka - February 28, 2004 10:21 PM (GMT)
Dom's smile was amused.
"We could always live in the city. The city would be safer with all those vampires and other lycanthropes and demons. Maybe they'll be so busy chasing each other they won't notice us."
His words were tainted with strong hints of sarcasm as he spoke.
"At least out here we don't have to wory about as many things. We get much more privacy and you get a chance to stretch your legs once in a while. I hate seeing you cooped up at home all the time or hiding in my bag."
Without another word he turned his attention baack to Paris.
If she falls asleep she might change back... or at the very least Tai and I can slip away... I don't really want to leave her though... she needs to learn how to control the changes better...
Paris - February 28, 2004 10:23 PM (GMT)
Paris' ear twitched.
No this werewolf was not going to change anytime soon.
Tai - February 28, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
Tai puffed out a bit of smoke.
*Let's go, let's go. Tai hungry.*
Tai started to play with Dom's hair, flicking it with her little claws.
Hisoka - February 28, 2004 10:32 PM (GMT)
Dom paused in his thoughts for a moment...
We shouldn't leave her... but I'm only mortal and I can't hold this thing much longer... dare I risk staying without the magic's protection?...
"You're right Tai, we should go. Hopefully she won't be too angry when she is herself again..."
Throwing enough energy into the 'box' to hold it until they were safely in the car, Dom turned and began to walk out of the woods remaining out of site of Paris.
